Witch Trip 2: The Witch is Back (SIGNUPS CLOSED)
Posted by: Mr. Lee Hammer - 06-01-2023, 08:54:59 AM - Forum: Signups - Replies (15)

A year has passed since the rumors of Blackmoon Forest were confirmed to be true. A group of hikers made their way to the forest and only several survived. They confirmed that Agatha Bancroft's spirit did indeed haunt the forest and forced people to kill each other. A long investigation went underway and recovered the remains of over 2'000 people who had went there and disappeared for the past 300 years. While the story peaked interest and led several people to stay away from the Forest, those who came by the forest were able to walk out of it since the day Agatha herself died in the forest those hundreds of years ago. But little did anyone know Agatha was not truly dead. She was now living in a new body and she simply chose a new ground to restore her legend.

Her new home is now at Camp Rhinestone, which is not all that far off from Blackmoon Forest. Since her arrival, any vacationer that chose to reside here met a bloody end. She has now close over a hundred in body count. And she's looking to bring in new victims for her to torture and kill. But death is only the beginning for the poor souls.

And you and a new group are on the way to Camp Rhinestone. And none of you have a clue what you're about to go into...

Gameplay
Witch Trip 2: The witch is back indeed. And like the first one, this is a mafia-style murdergame. Players are aligned to either the Innocent or Possessed sides, both sides with their different goals. The goal of the Innocents is to vote off the scum, while the Possessed's goal is to kill of the town members until their numbers are equal or less. Each side will have their own abilities that can be used to meet their goals in-game. Actions and kills can be done each night. Towards the end of each day, players will be taking part in challenges that are RNG-based and will have strength-weakness modifiers (ala CC2). The one who performs the best will receive nightly immunity. Should there be a tie, a tiebreaker challenge will be given to those and the one who performs the best will will the immunity.

Roles
INNOCENT

Paladin: Each night, the Paladin can choose one player and whatever actions get performed on the player, the Paladin will be targeted instead. For example, if the Jailer chooses a Seer to be jailed and the Paladin chooses the Seer, the Paladin would be jailed instead. It also applies to Possessed kills; where if one Possessed chooses someone to kill and the Paladin chooses that player, the Paladin will die in place.

Outsider: If investigated by the Seer, you will come up as a "POSSESSED".

Seer: Has the ability to investigate one player's alignment every night.

Vigilante: Has the ability to kill any player they think is Possessed. If the player is Possessed, they will die. But if the player is Innocent, both the Innocent and Vigilante will die.

Huntsman: Has the ability to be the bodyguard of one player each night. If a Possessed goes after the protected target, both the Huntsman and Possessed will kill each other, while the one who was protected will live.

Jailer: Has the ability to protect one player every two days from being killed, but the one who gets protected will be role-blocked.

Fisherman: Has the ability to send a player a fish every single night. That's it. The fish doesn't do anything; it's just a mere gag role.

Hiker: You have no special abilities; you're just here to enjoy the trip.

POSSESSED

Dark Creature: Has the ability to poison the player: i.e. they will be role-blocked that night you choose to do so and they will die the following night. Can only be done once. Note that during the role-blocking phase, any other kills can still be performed that night. Do note that even if the Poisoned one wins the daily challenge, they will still die. So it might be within their best interest to sit the challenge out. The poison will go through even if the person is jailed or under protection of the Huntsman.

Role Officer: Each night, the Role Officer can choose one Innocent player and learn what their role is.

The Mask: If investigated by the Seer, will show up as "Innocent".

THIRD PARTY

The Unliving: To win the game, the Unliving must be killed at night. If the Unliving ends up in a night kill, they will be revived the following day and have to choose one person to be executed before winning. If the Unliving is not killed before the game ends, they will lose. The unliving can die from either a regular night kill or the Dark Creature poison kill. Unliving cannot win by being voted off; they will be executed as normal.

Rules
  1. No god-modding allowed. Your character is the only character you can control. No one else can change other characters or settings without the permission of the hosts and/or players (if it involves one of the players).
  2. No turbo-lurking allowed. It is expected that anyone who signs up to play this game to participate regularly as much as they can and not give out any meaningless posts just to skirt by. If two game days pass by without any significant posts from a player, they will be notified and asked if they can still participate. If you can no longer participate, let the host know and a replacement will be sought. Do not leave the host or anyone hanging on whether or not you can participate.
  3. (For the scum) If you become a scum, it is expected that you kill someone everyday as it is your role in-game. One person has to be killed every night, so don't stall. Failure to kill someone when the night phase is up will result in one random player being killed off. It could be a town or a scum, so get killing. It will be in the best interest of everyone.
  4. Do note that if you die in the game and wish to replace back in if a spot opens up, you are free to do so. And because of this, if you get killed during the night, you will not know who killed you. The only exception to this rule is if you were scum because you know who the other scummates are. Also if you are a scum player who died, do not give away who the other scum players are, not even in the private Discord deadchat.
  5. While jerkassery is all right IC, it is stated however that you don't be a jerk to your players OOC. Be respectful and cool with your players. And while jerkassery and the occasional off-color comment is acceptable, no NSFW, inappropriate or otherwise disruptive actions (i.e. Bill's Brother or Elizabeth Afton) will be tolerated in-game.
  6. Remain in-character in thread.
  7. If you're dead, you can no longer post in the thread. You are still however free to spectate. However, do not give away the killers or any clues outside the thread. Otherwise, you will be permanently banned from the game.
  8. And above all else, have fun with your characters and the game. But if you're not having fun, you can drop out. That's cool, too.

  Party Two Treason

Captains of the Allfield-Aquangrad Administrative Region. I'm sure you're wondering why I've called you here today.

The tense atmosphere in the dusty space-station boardroom is not helped by the badly calibrated sound system broadcasting Colonel Valdragon.

I thought all of you were supportive of the upcoming coup, aside from Lanthanide who we eliminated a few months ago, along with her underlings. Though apparently, what happened to her wasn't enough, because some more of you have betrayed me. My boss has an agent planted in here, and some of you are feeding that agent information, and trying to get me killed. But that's not going to work. I've cut you off, I've intercepted your messages, and now you're not getting back to your home districts until I've gotten rid of all of you who are against me. Know that I absolutely would have blown up this station and simply replaced all of you if I could have afforded to do it.

So you're going to be doing your jobs out of here, administrating your undergroups out of here. Going out on operations, yes, but I'll have a close eye on you during those too. Meanwhile, I'll be watching, trying to figure out which of you is Liwari's pet, and which of you are trying to show off by eliminating me. And when I'm done, those in the way will be removed, and we can proceed with the plan.

So. Shall we do roll call?

Basic Rules:

1. Standard Murdergame Rules Apply

2. If you're going to drop out, just do it, don't sit around until someone asks and then do it.

3. No communication outside of the thread. No scum chat, no PMs between players.

Game Rules
1. At the start of the game, you will receive a DM telling you what role you have. You will either be a Co-Conspirator, a Loyalist, or The Mole. There will be Six Co-Conspirators, Three Loyalists, and one Mole.

2. There are 11 operations that are Loyalist and 6 that support the plot to overthrow the government. They act like a deck of cards, being shuffled at the start. You will be alerted when the deck is going to be shuffled again.

3. The goal of the Co-Conspirators is to engage in five Coup Operations or kill The Mole. The goal of the Loyalists and the Mole is to engage in six Loyalist Operations or get The Mole elected Regional Liaison after three Loyalist Operations have occurred.

4. The Loyalists know who The Mole is, The Mole does not know who the Loyalists are.

5. The phases of the game are as follows.
Consensus-Building Exercise:

  • The Aide to the Colonel nominates a Liaison. They may discuss their nominee beforehand with the other players. Someone who was the Liaison the previous round of voting cannot stand again until someone else has been Liaison. The same is true for the Aide.
  • Everyone discusses, and votes on whether or not the chosen candidate shall be the Liaison. (this includes the Aide and the Liaison candidate)
  • If a majority says no or the vote ties, the next person on the list becomes The Aide to the Colonel, the Liaison seat is not filled, and the phase repeats.
  • If the above happens three times in a row, the top Operation will be played, but if it would grant a power to the Aide, it won't. Then the term limits reset.
  • If a majority says yes, the Liaison is appointed. If no victory condition has been met, the Operation Planning phase begins.

Operation Planning:
  • The Aide is given the top three Operation Options via DM, and chooses two to pass on to the Liaison. The one not passed on is discarded and will not return until the deck is reshuffled. The Aide may not communicate with anyone until they've made their choice.
  • The Liaison is DMed the two remaining Operation Options, and chooses which one will be done. They may not communicate with anyone until they've made their choice, with one exception seen below. The one not chosen is discarded, as above.
  • If five Loyalist Operations have been undertaken, on receiving the Operation Options, the Liaison may request to undertake neither. If the Aide agrees, both operations are discarded and it is treated as if no Liaison had been chosen during the election phase. If the Aide does not agree to discard, an Operation must be undertaken.
  • If the Operation grants a power to the Aide, the Aide must use the power immediately. Otherwise, proceed to the Operation stage.

Operation:
  • Colonel Valdragon will brief you on what is expected during the operation. You will have to come up with a way to surmount the challenges put before you.
  • The top performer will be given Valdragon Points, which means their vote counts double during the next Consensus-Building phase.
  • Return to Consensus-Building Phase.

Powers received by number of Loyalist Operations done:

1: Break-In: The Aide selects a player and learns their alignment. They may do with the information as they wish. The same player cannot be investigated twice. (The Mole detects as Loyalist)
2: Break-In Again: (as previous)
3: Delegation: The Aide says who will be the next Aide, rather than it going down the list.
4: Purge: The Aide selects a player. That player is executed, and out of the game. If the player was The Mole, the game ends. Otherwise, no information is given on whether the purged Captain was a Co-Conspirator or a Loyalist.
5: Second Purge: (as previous)
6: Loyalist Victory.

Remember, your hands are dirty too.

Additional Notes:

Slots: One slot is open (You will be signing up as a replacement for Sony and Microsoft)
+ Pointmaid as Victoria Frankenstein, supporting science for Profit and Fun, in that order.
+ Lee the Hammer as George Washington Columbo, who is a Captain here, not a general or a lieutenant like either namesake.
+ Kennifer as Juniper Banks, who's made a triumphant return to politics, after failing upward into space!
+ TenOfSwords13 as Romeo Harrier VI, because at least one officer with a suffix is obligatory.
+ noodlesnook as Fionn Mac Cumhaill, who's irish, and thus probably has very skewed ideas of how big exactly a mountain is, being from a pancake island as he is.
+ Oggy123 as Sony and Microsoft. Horse and Force will not be an exclusive to either of their consoles, but they presumably can actually run it.
+ Dookie as Victoria Walson, who also is rich and has a Germanic last name and did things on an island that involved several deaths.
+ Whistle as Chef Beck, who is helping cook up a devilish scheme, whichever side he's on.
+ LavanderDream as Blixbo, who betrayed his government before and probably isn't about to stop now.
+ wingedcatgirl as Lucky. I don't even have a joke here, this is a cat who's mid-ranking political officer in a highly authoritarian regime. There can be no quip that can add to that.
+ Caret as Wario, who, despite his name, is not an online game in an indian ocean domain about war.

  Lucky 13

Welcome to Lucky 13, and thank you for tuning in. Now, on with your scheduled programming.

-

The Mechanics
There is no day, and there is no night. Instead, cycles are divided into two parts. To start, you are allowed to freely explore the map, make alliances, gather materials, and perhaps even kill (More on that later).

After that begins the “Rounds”. A game will be played that will end with the death of one or two of the people. After the game begins the free roam again. (List of all possible rounds will be posted sometime before the game starts).

Rounds include such things as voting out a person, luck-based guessing, and games in which you can directly target those you do not like/those who you think have murdered.

The cycle will repeat until there are two people left, to which a special Finale Round will be played. The loser of that will be killed, and the winner will be sent free - the only survivor of the 13.

Standard murdergame actions and rolling will appear here.

Attacking & Killing

During the free roam, as well as during a special event known as “Battle Royale”, you may attack another person.

To attack, you need a weapon (No, you're not killing someone with your fists, sorry), which you can find scattered around IKEA. Each weapon will have a strength rating from 1 - 10, this will be added to a d10 dice roll. You need at least 20 power to kill someone else.

After you make your attempt at striking, the other person will make an attempt to dodge your attack. They will roll a d20 for dodging, and if the d20 is more than your combined d10 and and strength rating, they will dodge your attack.

If they successfully dodge, they can make an attempt to run. They will roll another d20, and if the d20 is 10 or more, they will successfully escape. If it is more than 15, they will also catch a glimpse of your face.

If they do not escape, you may attempt striking them again, or you can leave if that's what you're like. Remember that you must hit them with at least 20 power to kill them.

But what if you don't want to run from danger like a little bitch? Then you can retaliate if you also have a weapon. If retaliation happens, both parties will be building up attack until either one runs or someone dies.

Also, if you set up a planned kill, such as a fire, explosion, or poison, it's an instakilll, with the challenge being to pull it off.

So why kill? For one, it gets the player count down. For two, if someone attempts to kill you, you will successfully escape the attempt (This only works for the first attempt to kill you). While you may very much become a target in voting and targeting based Rounds, that is only if you are suspected of doing the murder.

Possible Rounds
Election Night: Vote for someone to go out.
Election Night Double Trouble: Vote for someone to go out. The two most voted people are killed.
Please Plead Me: One person is chosen as the executioner. In character, you must DM me a paragraph that pleads to that person not to kill you, which I will send to the executioner. The executioner must choose their least favorite plea and that person is killed. If someone does not give a plea, they will be PUBLICLY SHAMED on the thread.
Hey Man, Nice Shot: Players are locked into a room. A gun loaded with only one bullet is on the table. Everyone chooses a number (1 - however many people are in the game currently). If that number is equal to one randomly chosen by me, you are dead. If you refuse to pick a number, you will be killed.
Hot Potato: The potato will have a set number of passes in it (from 5 - 20), and every player will either say in thread or DM who they pass it to. If you get the last pass, you are killed. There is a 24 hour time limit to pass the potato by. If you do not pass it in that amount of time, you will die.
Save Me: A random person is drawn, and can save one other person in the game. This goes on until there is one person left, to which they are killed.
Audience Says…: Only people not currently in the game (AKA, spectators and previously killed players) can vote for someone to go out. That person is killed.
Rock, Paper, Scissors: Rock Paper Scissors tournament bracket, only occurs with an even number of players. Loser of each match progresses until the final 2 are in a match together, to which the loser of that is killed.
Curse Words: A word is said to not be used in any upcoming posts. The first person to use the word will be killed.
Assassination Game: One person will be given another person they are to kill by the next round. If they do not, the assassin will die instead.
Gunslinger: One person will be given a gun, and must choose someone to kill. They can also sacrifice themselves.
Let Them Cook: Three prompts will be given. Contestants have 48 hours to send their response to it, to which I will post anonymously. Everyone will then vote for their favorite one. The least voted person will die.
Battle Royale: All players engage in battle for a day, roll an R10 for each attack, If you take 20 damage, you die. If nobody dies, someone is randomly chosen to be shot.
Item Drop! - The only round that does not involve someone dying. Weapons and supplies will be distributed.

So I Know What You're Thinking, It's Yet Another Murdergame
Posted by: Dookie - 01-16-2023, 03:49:11 AM - Forum: Signups - Replies (18)

So I know what you're thinking, it's yet another Murdergame. It's yet another game where you, a random person from a random place, go unconscious and wake up in a random place and can't (or don't think to) get out. It's yet another game where someone dies every night and everyone reacts in horror once before trampling on their body to see if the killer left their social security number near the crime scene. It's yet another game where someone dies, people investigate, people vote, someone dies, people investigate, and people vote. It's yet another game where if the scum messes up enough, everyone goes back home happy and laughing with some new friends along the way. It's yet another Murdergame that goes as all Murdergames go.

Only some of that is true.

So what is this?
This is Lucky 13, a new type of murdergame, based on luck, alliances, and popularity.

Your character is trapped inside of an IKEA, having no idea where they are, with only 12 others, and a group of shadowy figures. Everything is unknown and scary to your characters.

The Mechanics
There is no day, and there is no night. Instead, cycles are divided into two parts. To start, you are allowed to freely explore the map, make alliances, gather materials, and perhaps even kill (More on that later).

6. DMing other players is encouraged. If you want to do so, just say so in your channel is the discord server and i'll hook you guys up. Alliances, betrayals, and rivalries are a major part of this game.
7. You can edit your posts in this game. I know, what a novelty.
8. Finally, have fun. Those seen not having fun will be executed at the stake.

Welcome to Schadenfreude Studios! The studio with the biggest animated blockbusters anywhere! Literally, we will blow up your block and animate it. A family-owned and operated studio for three generations!

As always, we're on the hunt for new talent. And what better way to find out who's ready for the spotlight than to have all the applicants compete against one another? Be careful, the competition can get cutthroat!

Judging you in this competition, and in life, will be the co-owner of the studio and co-star of the Schadenfreude Sisters Shorts, Lotta Schadenfreude, and one of our oldest and most beloved stars that have been with us from the beginning, Mincer Mouse. You'll have to try to impress them to have any chance of winning and becoming a STAR, and these two enjoy it when the competition gets rough and ready. Do you have what it takes? It'll be a test not just of physical stamina, but mental ingenuity as well.

Please pick up your studio map and remember to stay on the studio campus.

Toontown Showdown 2 is a Dangan-style murdergame, meaning there are no roles; anyone can kill if they choose to do so. In addition, players will take part in challenges for a chance to win nightly immunity.

GAMEPLAY
* Each day, the main soundstage will have another set constructed and you will be given a new map for it and allowed to explore. After which the challenge will begin and players will have to do them within the time limit. The challenge responses will be judged by Point and Hammer. Both hosts will choose the winner(s), who will receive nightly immunity.
* During night phase, players will PM both hosts on what actions they want to do. The maximum cap for nightly murders is ONE. If multiple players PM kills, they will be chosen randomly. Do note if no one sends in kill PMs, one random player will be killed off during the day.
* Once day phase begins, it's investigation and voting time. Players look for evidence with actions that are RNG-based from 1 to 10. 1 failing miserably with the possibility of evidence getting destroyed and 10 being where things go way too well. Players will have until the deadline to investigate and vote.
* After investigation/voting time ends, the soundstage set will be re-done and you will be given a new map. And like before, explore and do challenges, investigate/vote, repeat on and on.
* Murders can happen during the day. But you'll be visible during the day if you do so unless you and the other player are in the same room.

RULES
1. Since this is a cartoon-themed murdergame, only cartoon characters are allowed. They can come from animated TV series, shorts, movies, anime, and comic strips. If you must play a non-animated character, please run it by Point and Lee first.
2. Standard murdergame rules apply. No godmodding, no turbo-lurking, be nice to your players, no editing your posts (double-post if you need to make a correction), remain in character in thread, don't post in thread if you're dead (or give off hints on who killed you).

  WORLDWALKER

HEY i made a fan thing hosted RRRIGHT here. on troublecube.net. therefore it only seemed fitting that i make a thread for said fan thing here. on the troublecube.net forums. this is also going to serve as an update log. i hope this doesn't make me look egotistical

it is called Worldwalker. it is about a kid with a green jacket, the allies and enemies he meets, and the worlds he finds himself lost in.

you may discuss this story... here. and you may read the story itself here. new pages should hopefully be daily.

this also doubles as an update on worldwalker- page 43 is now the actual page it is supposed to be.

maybe one day we will see Construction Jack again...

Ultimate Role Madness Hellgame (aka "Mintleaf can't count to 3")

Navigation: Game thread

Story:
Welcome to chaos. "Chaos, chaos!"

Rules:
  1. Listen to us when we say things.
  2. This is a mafia-type game. In the day, everyone picks someone to eliminate. At night, the scumteam picks someone to kill, and anyone with night actions chooses what to do with that. You get your win conditions in your role PMs.
  3. No godmoding, puppeteering, etc. Your character is your character, other players' characters are their characters, the NPCs are NPCs.
  4. No editing posts. If you made a formatting mistake, holler a mod. If you made a wording mistake, double-post.
  5. Please no turbolurking. Try to post at least once per day. Ideally more. If you need to drop out, drop out, we'll find a replacement.
  6. This is a murdergame. You might die, you might roll scum. Please don't enter as a character you're not okay with those things happening to.
  7. This game is definitely not balanced. We tried to at least discourage massclaims.
  8. Speaking of not massclaiming, private game-related communication with other players is not allowed outside of designated channels. If you're not in a masonry, a neighborhood, a scumchat, or a deadchat, there will be no DMing here or on Discord. You can still freely use the Murderverse OOC thread and the Discord channel, of course. (And obviously you'll be able to do whatever you want once the game ends.)

  • oh god oh fuck there's so many of them
  • Each player is first randomly assigned an alignment, then randomly given two alignment-appropriate roles from the above list, at random.
  • Most roles may appear up to three times total if the RNG wants them. Masons may appear four times.
  • In the highly likely event that you have multiple night actions, you may only use one of them per night, except for Announcer, Messenger, and Necromancer, which you may use alongside other actions.

Cast:
This game will have a minimum of 13 players, and no maximum. Signups will be open until a period of one week (168 hours) has passed and 13 players have signed up, then one day (24 hours) after that.
