That is also a scenario, Lavender could be scum in the "No-scum detected scenario. So they're also on the list in the No-scum scenario.

And yes, Kennifer could claim to be clearing Point for Towncred, but earlier you said that Kennifer is more suspicious in the scenario where Point is scum, so that just reads to me as "Kennifer is worthy of suspicion whatever she does". Which, fair, considering the whole "more often than not, scum" thing.

Anyway I don't see any reason not to do this plan.

If Point is evil, then Kennifer is confirmed evil.
If Point is good, then Kennifer is neither confirmed evil nor confirmed good. 
She's not above suspicion for clearing Point, because Rolecops can be scum as well.
