Little too eager to bandwagon me, are you?

Sorry, Nebula has a point.

Oh really? I wouldn't take someone named Lieutenant Light at face value. Remember, it could very well be an ironic name.

I mean on the one hand song lyrics is a pretty funny "point"

on the other hand Mr. Somebody is a pretty vague alias

on the third hand since we picked our code names I don't think they are really an indicator of-- wait when did I get three hands?

True, but you do still have a pretty vague name, allowing for abilities harmful or helpful. You're our best lead.

My vote was just a meme vote. There's no real evidence against you that's any better than speculation, but I think it's strange that you prioritise me over Whistle, when my vote wasn't serious and hers is. Was it because I voted first?
Whistle was the one who pointed out that Mr Somebody is a very vague name. She does have a point in that he (and Kennifer, for that matter) could be pretty much anything, but it was hasty of her.

I'm a very helpful individual. Trust me. I tend to be mysterious, but I'm working for the greater good. You lose me, you'll be losing a very valuable ally. So you might want to change the tune and find a different song. Don't look into the Light, because it will end up blinding you in the end.

And yes, I chose to go after you first because when it comes to people leading the charge out of the gate, it's usually bad news. Don't get me wrong, Whistle jumping in on my too has given me suspicions as well.

I don't really think the name and what's going on are correlated. Anyone could be the bad guy here, the names are unrelated.

On the other hand, we've got a very obvious role in Kamikaze, that's some persuasion of bomber or vengeful almost certainly. So we shouldn't go there first.

"Compromise" sounds bad though. That sounds like a role that can directly tamper with how our votes work, whichever way things turn out. It needs to be off the field as soon as possible. Trust me on this.

Also, there's an implication "Mr. Sombody" knows something about Lieutenant Light, by the capitalization there. Be more specific if possible. In the meantime...

/Vote Corporal Compromise.

In fairness, I was just going along with Nebula, partly because I didn't fully realize it was a meme vote. I'll reconsider who's best to get out of here.

My name was just picked because of my "existential turquoise" thing. (I almost went with "Ironic".)

And afiak the names were just used to pick potential abilities, not alliances.

Got a couple people I am looking at, at least. Nebula might not be doing anything other than memeing (or seeing who if anyone would jump on a handwagon). Whistle did seem to at least point at something whether it's a lead or not. Matt looking at Nebula right away could be an innocent act of defensiveness or an opportunity to jump on someone.

(And yeah, I do plan to vote but I want to see a bit more of how people react to one another first than voting based on code names people chose before alliances were assigned or making assumptions on what kind of powers those roles could have. I like to try the social deduction thing at least... emphasis on "try".)

Matthew: By this logic, we should also watch out for Lavender. They also voted quickly, mis-citing the point Whistle made to me, but I think the latter bit was a genuine mistake of theirs.

Florien: Can you elaborate on how you think Corporal Compromise could affect voting? When I think about the name more, Poisoner is one of the first things that comes to mind to me. Assuming my guess is right here, that's still not enough for me because Town can have Vigilantes, and a Town Poisoner would run on roughly the same principle.

Kennifer: Agreed, I think the names are an influence on abilities but not alignment as well. I think it's more likely that alignment is an influence on ability than vice versa. For example, even if Whistle's alias The Punk Godmother suggests investigation immunity if she's evil, that assumes she's evil. If she's good, she might have a completely different ability.

The "Godmother" part in Whistle's name seems like she could have some kind of protective role if inno, like a medic or something, going with that example.

It'd seem to me that alignments were chosen first and then abilities that go with the name that suit that alignment. I think.

It's a new format so it's certainly interesting to speculate on, anyway.

I don't think I need to come up with specific ways it could fuck with voting, but the word "compromise" reeks of some kind of "well everyone with votes is executed" or "someone with less than the most votes is executed" or something else possibly along those lines. As is said, compromise is not a virtue in and of itself.

"Godmother" basically means I have a godchild. I'm on the side of good... but if you fuck with my godchild I'm taking you with me.

I'll have to look at all of this once I'm home from work (and thus not distracted by people and/or the fact it's hot in the shop) and can concentrate a bit more.

Sorry, I'm late. Didn't noticed that this has started already. Well, I don't have any evidence for a suspect, so I'll skip voting.

mathematically speaking it's better to execute in most circumstances, and considering this game doesn't have an explicit role-list to check, there will NEVER be evidence, because anything is possible. Thus...

We should execute someone. There is no reason not to do it now, and there will be no more nor less reason to do it in the future.

I'm not saying we should execute someone tonight, but if we do, I'd favor either Whistle or Lav, seeing as how they were both eager to bandwagon me. Nebula might have started it, but it seemed like a joke and admittedly I did get a little defensive over it. But I'd be willing to give 'em the benefit of the doubt for now. But I wonder about the other two...

Trust me, this is a good idea.

Also there's no confusion here. Someone needs to die for us to have the highest chance of success as town, ESPECIALLY in a completely blind and unilluminatable scenario like this one, where we don't know anyone's role abilities beyond a guess. Otherwise initiative is lost.

So obviously we should eliminate the people most likely to bear some obnoxious tampersome role. Such as something called "compromise" which sounds like a role that could only possibly make things worse by either tampering with voting or doing something else entirely.

As for the opening bandwagon, I have to say, that's actually a theoretically good idea, as is the excuse of "eliminate someone with a vaguely defined role" first, though the argument does fall apart when thinking about "wait the role names are unconnected to what side the person ends up on."

Nonetheless I think we have a compelling argument to start eliminating people with names that are VERY easy to interpret as a role that could undermine everything, like one that implies "voting fuckery". Mr. Somebody is hardly a name that implies anything other than "vanilla townie" or possibly a wise stump or something. Or maybe something like an identity thief style role. Either way, it seems less potentially annoying than "compromise", in the uncompromising world of mafia where the options are "execute or don't."

Also, Matthew, you implied you know something about Nebula. You heavily breadcrummed. It was blindingly obvious. Elaborate, do not dodge the question. (I think you also implied you might be a miller-type role? Not sure.)

Fine, you really want to know, Florien? I'll tell you. I do have something of a role that can mislead. Something of an Outsider. Something that if people looked at me, they might think I'm not on their side when I really am. So it's only natural I'd be public enemy number one here. I didn't want to say anything right away as I wanted to keep my cards to myself for as long as I possibly can. But now I guess I have to force my hand. And as for Nebula, admittedly I got on the defensive side. I don't really know anything. I just saw the first vote against me and then I got two others bandwagoning me. And considering what I have, you'd understand if I get defensive.

I don't have anything juicy of Nebula if that's what you're wondering. All I got for right now are some ideas on who to go after. Does it mean I think Nebula is completely innocent? No. I did find the leading the charge on the voting definitely raised an alarm. So I panicked. But again, I am willing to give the benefit of the doubt as it could have indeed been a joke and I freaked out over nothing. But still yet, I wouldn't think it's something of a laughing matter when two other people tried to leech onto that and went along with it. Honestly, that concerns me more than what Nebula did. I panicked at first, sure, but now I'm trying to be a bit more rational now.
