Matthew grabs Libre. "Custard isn't waking up. Hopefully Cus will catch up to use eventually, but for right now, follow my lead, all of you," Matthew says, addressing everyone else to the group in a hushed tone of voice, before turning his attention to the clerk. "Don't worry, we'll have your money in a minute. Let me check the car."

Matthew heads into the car, whispering to everyone else. "Everyone, hurry up and get in, we're leaving."

Libre immediately goes in, hugging his bobbit worm to ensure he stays silent.

Without questioning orders, Commander Yammark enters the car. She doesn't understand why they want to leave the nice clerk behind, though. He wants them to pay, right?

The fox remains in the trunk, covers herself back up with the bags.

Matthew takes everyone into the car and drives off. The clerk notices and fires his shotgun at the car.

Wanting to defend her friends, Commander Yammark unleashes a steady stream of her dragonfly drones in an attempt at holding back the clerk. These drones try to throw off the clerk's aim as much as possible.

This level of violence from the clerk fascinates Commander Yammark plenty. She wonders if humanity are just prone to violence from birth. After all, they've had numerous conflicts in the past. It just makes Commander Yammark's head spin.

Dookie, hanging in the backseat with his backpack, scrunches up at the sound of a shotgun.

Matthew stops the car and lets the hitchhiker and woman in. "Yes, come on in, there's plenty of room in this car.... somehow."
