"Shit, we're late to the introductions," [Summer comments to herself, grabbing Cherry by the arm and pulling her in—]

"Eeh?!"

"Well, we might as well say 'em now. Better late than never, right? The name's Summer. Summer Jet, and don't forget it. And this here's my partner Cherry."

[It takes Cherry a second to realize what's going on, and also to remember nobody else here probably recognizes her.] "Oh, right, uh. Hi!" [She straightens herself out and excitedly waves to everyone nearby.] "Yes, I'm Cherry, that's me, heheh. Just a... wandering adventurer, you could say! That's the easiest I can explain it, it's kind of a long story."

"And I'm just a jeweler. Not to say I haven't gotten into some adventures of my own, but that's neither here nor there. 'Sides, I much prefer taking the opportunity to chill out before the next big thing."

"There's a convention happening further up the coast that the two of us got tickets to! Buuut that doesn't start for a while, so I figured I'd squeeze in a little vacation before then. I just... didn't expect there to be so many people here, hahah..." [A quiet laugh, before she takes a deep breath in to shake off her nervousness.] "But it's fine! Honestly, I could use the chance to talk to more people."

"And we've certainly got an interesting bunch with us here, huh." [Summer just grins.] "Pleased to meetcha, all of ya."

"Oh, introductions. Right. Name's Aya Brea. NYPD officer. Saved the world from Mitochondria Eve a while back…and decided that I need a good old break. If anyone breaks the law, I am technically still able to arrest you. Keep that in mind."

[Summer immediately shoots a mildly suspicious glare at Aya upon hearing she's a cop.] "...Define 'breaks the law'."

[Summer's brows furrow for a moment, but she quickly relaxes, figuring trying to gauge whether the cop would be her enemy isn't worth the trouble.] "Uh-huh, okay. So just the standard stuff, got it. Feels like that's just common sense, but..."

[She spares a glance to Cherry, who is looking at her own shoulder with a shocked and mildly horrified expression. A moth lies down next to her, fried.]

"...eh, you never know. Better to keep an eye out."

"I'm sure nobody here is gonna do any of that!"

Mavis glances at Grunkle Ed as she says this even though as far as she knows none of his crimes have been mentioned yet. Well, maybe robbery.

...Yeah, I'm... pretty sure nobody here would do that? I don't think? ...I don't know.

Having nothing better to do, Catar peeks out of her cabin window to see that everyone else seems to be doing instructions.

Destiny raises an eye at Aya. "...Well, we're not in New York. I don't think you really can do shit."

Grunkle Ed? Folks? I think the cookout is ready now. Or at least ready to... get ready. The food to cook has been dropped off, anyway. And we set up the tables and stuff.

There are all sorts of things to cook. Hamburgers, hot dogs, corn on the cob, even veggie burgers for people who want them. There's cans of various types of soda, bags of chips, and what appear to be freshly-baked cupcakes for dessert. The edible glitter on the top of the frosting suggests Mavis has had a hand in decorating them.

Grunkle Ed has a spatula in hand and has just put a comical-looking apron on.

After fumbling out of the door again, Catar waddles over outside, and takes a seat.

... cooking wasn't really her thing- Lougg had the plenty of hands for that, what with him being a hydra and all. So she sets her eye on a cupcake.

She doesn't even try grabbing the cupcake- she just brings her mouth down on it. No way she's trusting a cupcake with her wyvern hands.

Food! That's good. Who doesn't like it?

[Oh, food! Perfect! Cherry quickly wipes off her shoulder like nothing happened and tugs at Summer's jacket.] "C'mon, Sumsum, I'm starving!"

"What, you think I'm not?" [Summer laughs to herself as the ladies go to get their food. Summer herself is keeping it simple with a double-decker cheeseburger, a couple bags of cool ranch Doritos and a Mountain Dew Baja Blast, while Cherry... well...]

Food! Ironically, Emilia's in the area for an international food convention in Portland. She might as well get some practice in before then.

Destiny just grabs some food from the cookout, grabbing a burger straight from the ones Emilia is preparing. "Hey, question, what's the weird stuff on top of some of the food? The ones that make it look all shiny?"

"Those are sprinkles!" Emilia takes a bite out of her burger. "It's just processed sugar. Sprinkles are usually used to decorate confections like brownies and cupcakes. Sprinkles shouldn't hurt you! ...Unless you're on a reduced sugar diet." Another bite.

"Yeah, yeah, don't explain to me what the fuck sugar is. I had sugar as a kid, I wasn't a fucking Amish or something like that. Had sugar all the time. Once got left alone at home for a weekend and I ate sugar straight from the bag." She eats another bite.

"Usually sprinkles are a lot less glittery, though. Must be the expensive kind."

[Cherry is cheerfully munching on one of the cupcakes in question. She figures the edible glitter won't be that hard to wash off her face, right?]

Booker palms a cupcake, himself. It's good. He grins, grudgingly, at his sister, with frosting on his mouth. He also takes a cheeseburger.
