Murderverse Falls
Emilia giggles slightly as she passes across the river. She doesn't really care about the height, since she's done this hundreds of times now.

You wave hi to Ed, Mavis and Booker! As you go ever higher, and higher, a downdraft blows you down over the town. What is that? Wow. The landing is a bit rough.

Emilia does her best to keep the landing smooth, but tumbles onto her face. She slowly gets up and brushes dirt off herself. She can't help but to wonder if something created the downdraft on purpose.

"Yeouch! The winds here are wild, huh? At leas there's no visible tears on my skysail, but this better not leave a lasting mark on me."

You find some bags of chips pretty easily but aren't quite sure where to look for the rest.

Oh dear, the wind is really strong! You do get to see some sights as it blows you all over town though.

> How high is the river? Is it fine enough to seat nearby and soak your feet in? (Mindy)

It looks to be at first, but the currents are stronger than they seem. Your feet (and the rest of you) are thoroughly soaked and you find your way to a comfy sitting place quite a way down the river.

1. We'll start simple: across a 15-foot span of river (no bridge)

"I'm not sure if I have enough strength to putt a ball across a river. I'm sorry if I'm cheating a little, but I'll turn into a duck and swim across the river, carrying the ball with my beak. Once I'm on the other side, I'll turn back to normal and hit the ball into the hole! Easy peasy."

2. Straight up into the crown of a mature redwood

"OK, that's just rubbish! How am I supposed to hit a ball a couple hundred feet into the air with just a putter? Luckily enough, I have a solution! Call me a filthy casual, but I'm gonna cheat some more. I'll fly to the top as an eagle, carrying the ball in my talons, and drop the ball into the crown. After that, I'll parachute down to the ground with my skysail. I'm sure I'll stick the landing this time!"

3. Hitting five different obstacles, then passing through a windmill feature that's turning so that the windmill blades don't stop it from going through.

"They're saving the most straightforward hole for last, huh? I'll just pay close attention to the windmill and putt when the time is right. And maybe give myself some extra muscle so I can make the shot. Why didn't I think of that earlier?"

Mindy, soaked, and looking like a drowned angry dog, growls as she sits down to think about the golf tournament. All she wanted to do was soak her feet, to calm herself down, maybe even make her think about the Coney Island beaches. There goes that.
I like bananas. They're yellow.
Golf of Next Hole
  1. I've done this before... I've putted a ball right into the freeway,, actually!--wait, sorry. So... just... get a perfect balanced stance... swing your putt at 225 degrees... precisely... and... HYAH. ...Where'd it go?
  2. Ohp! Golly... this is a bit more of a challenge. Uh... I think Liz would be better at this, but... I could throw it on the trunk, then kick it a couple times before it gets high--... No. I'll... climb the tree. Yeah, that should work! I think. ...then how do i get down
  3. Hmmm... time it just right so that it can pass through the windmill, then do some sort of bouncy bouncy—no wait, ricochet—like in pool—billiards! Damn. And then, 225 degrees... off it'll go!

You know where you are? You're in the jungle baby.
Emilia's Faetastic Golf Adventure, Animated
Emilia gets a 5 on the first hole, a 4+2 on the second hole, and a 3 on the third, for a final score of 14

She gets the ball to the other side on the first hole by swimming, but it still takes a few tries to get it into the hole.

Second, she does indeed fly above the tree and make a soft landing! It wasn't quite a hole in one, but not bad.

Third, she really has to take quite a few shots. She tries to pay attention to the timing, but it's more difficult than anticipated. She does have some extra muscle, but she wasn't the heftiest to begin with, so she's now... about average muscle?.

Who needs clubs when you got a pitcher on the mound?
1. Across the river with a putter? Yeah I could swing my club at it to get it across. But why hit when I can just pitch the thing over the river? It'd be the bottom of the 9th. I'm here to strike out my opponents. Put some "oomph" into it. Toss that fastball, watch it go right past the river into the hole, no problem!
2. Right up into the crown? You know who you're talkin' to? I'mma pretend I'm back at Coney Island, tryin' ta win the prize and bring down the milk bottles. Most people can't do it, but I managed to do so and get me a cute little plush bunny. But goin' upwards? Still no problem! I'll just throw this right up to the crown itself!
3. Okay, now I'll probably use the club here. I don't think I can get all fancy with my throws here. But what I'll do, use a little bit of math. Look at the certain obstacles, see which one can get me more bounce, more oomph. Whack the ball over, watch it fly and bounce all over, past the windmill blades, hole in one!

I like bananas. They're yellow.
Catar has waddled back on outside again and oh god dammit it's a thing that requires hands.

Upon (clumsily) getting her hands on a golf club, she realizes that this isn't good enough. One quick inspection at the golf club head though, and she realizes something.

It's not cheating if you need it to compete.
Catar flicks her tail in realization. Of course- her tail is something she has far more control over than whatever this weak tool will provide, and if she hits with the sides of the tail rather than the edge, it should work as a fine enough putt.

She already has some practice putting things with her tail from her job before, what with the tail being a versatile appendage and the solutions that selling goods in a monster-populated area require.

So she sets herself in front of the ball, readying to swing at it with her tail.

  1. Oh, she's shot in this distance before. Her memory is a bit fuzzy (anything not job-related really just gets sent to the "vague dimension").
  2. This is rather tough, but she gives it her first try shot as well, after a few almost-shots to measure how hard she'll need to swing her tail at.
  3. ... okay, this is ridiculous. She leans the tip of her tail skywards and attempts to bump the golf ball straight past the obstacles and into the windmill's opening.

it is me. awe921, the greatest face in all of koridai
Oh well. If she couldn't find anything, she'd just have to look again tomorrow.

She pays for the chips and heads back to the cabin.

Golf!
1. “Well…my first thought was to grab the ball and walk it to the hole, but I can't do that if there's a river separating us. So, I'll build a boat. I'll saw off the top of one of the tables at the cookout, and stuff the ball in my pocket. Then, I'll find a stick to row me across the river. Once I'm on the other side, it's as simple as walking to the hole and putting it in.
2. “I obviously can t climb the tree myself, so I'll exploit something who can. I'll whip out my laptop and search for any drones or similar flying computers nearby. If there's one in the area, then I'll get into its system and find a way to control it remotely . Once that's done, it's as easy as driving it over here, making it pick up the ball, and then flying it up to the hole.”
3. “Honestly, I think I just need luck to be in my side with this one. I'll putt the ball with the putter and just hope that it makes its way across.”

You connect with the ball and up into the air it goes! It hits a drone, which changes the trajectory and drops it right into the hole... and the drone drops right on you. Whoops! At least it's a lightweight drone? (Rolled 10)

Quote:Ohp! Golly... this is a bit more of a challenge. Uh... I think Liz would be better at this, but... I could throw it on the trunk, then kick it a couple times before it gets high--... No. I'll... climb the tree. Yeah, that should work! I think. ...then how do i get down

You climb the tree just fine and drop the ball... a ways from the hole. It takes you a while to figure out getting down, and after a couple more putts the ball is in. (Rolled 4)

Quote:Hmmm... time it just right so that it can pass through the windmill, then do some sort of bouncy bouncy—no wait, ricochet—like in pool—billiards! Damn. And then, 225 degrees... off it'll go!

WOW what a shot! Your ball ricochets perfectly off the obstacles and rolls right into the hole. Hole-in-one! (Rolled 8 +1 for making quick connections for a total of 9.)

Mindy Switches Sports! In HD
Mindy gets a 9(+3) on the first hole, a 4(+1) on the second hole, and an 8 on the third hole, for a final score of 25
1. Mindy is pretty dang good at baseball. And this time, her throw is real accurate. It drops exactly where she expects it to. Hole in one!
2. Mindy's arm is good, but she's not used to pitching *upwards*, even though she thinks it'll be ok. It takes a few tries to get that golf ball up there.
3. Turns out, Mindy's pretty good at math, too! (Or very lucky). Or combining math and coordination. The ball gets through the obstacles no problem!

The river's currents take you out of the way of the hole but you get to the other side, and after a hike you make it back to the hole to drop the ball in. (Rolled 1 +2 for quick thinking on boat building for a total of 3 points.)

Quote:2. “I obviously can t climb the tree myself, so I'll exploit something who can. I'll whip out my laptop and search for any drones or similar flying computers nearby. You hack into a drone easily and get your ball in the hole. However in doing so you've managed to get yourself on a couple of watchlists, you better play it cool and lay low for a while... (Rolled 10 +1 for tech skills for the maximum 11 points.)

[quote]3. “Honestly, I think I just need luck to be in my side with this one. I'll putt the ball with the putter and just hope that it makes its way across.”

Your ball does make it across, but it stops a few inches from the hole. Easy to putt it in from there, though. (Rolled 6.)

Victoria Walson has a total of 20 points.

Destiny Goes Clubbing
1. We'll start simple: across a 15-foot span of river (no bridge)

Destiny heads to the mini golf place. She is...kind of drunk, and she seems to be holding the club in a very, very precarious way. I don't expect to do well with the RNG. She swings the club around, nearly hitting anyone around her, before....just throwing the ball across the river. She's thrown things before, her throw is not so bad she can't make a 15 foot throw.

2. Straight up into the crown of a mature redwood

Huh, put it in the crown. Sure, uh, sure...

Destiny just climbs the tree, when no one is looking, and places the ball there. She just needs to get up, and once she does so, she jumps off the tree and lands in a roll. Hopefully.

3. Hitting five different obstacles, then passing through a windmill feature that's turning so that the windmill blades don't stop it from going through

As much as she's been fucking around doing the bare minimum to get all of this done...it's not like Destiny's fully incompetent.

Once she gets to this part, she splashes her face with some cold water from the river, and actually begins to use the club for once. She holds onto it with the same grip she did her trusty pistol, and she prepares her trajectory.

Build some speed using a ramp, hit the little gnome, first, then bounce off a rock feature, then onto a little mini monument, then off a fake tree, then through a waterfall, before letting it land right through the windmill. The windmill's very regular in it's timing; she knows the trick with these things. Try and hit it while the blades are blocking the hole, rather than while it's not blocking it. All psychological bullshit.

And then, get another drink.

Catar's Golf Tale, on ESPN
Catar gets a 5+2 on her first hole, 10+1 on her second, and a 9 +2 on her third hole, for being fast-learning and intuitive, but a bit awkward. For a final score of 29.

Her decision to use her tail really pays off! It's got the touch she needs, and she's quick to remember... it does take her a bit to get the ball over the river, but not a bad showing.
The practice shots do the trick, as she bats the ball right up into the hole in the tree!
And she's not fazed at all by the obstacles, a soft touch and a quick study lead to her getting it right into the windmill!

Destiny Goes Clubbing, On the sports channel
Destiny has earned a 1+2 on the first hole for her athleticism and aim, but a point off to account for her drunkenness. She earns a 7+2 on the second hole for her athleticism. And a 6+2 on the third hole for being cool under pressure. This earns her a score of 20.

She tries to throw the ball over the river, and it goes, but it... does not go where she intends, really. At all.

Her climb and tuck-and-roll maneuver goes just as planned, though. Right down the hole.

And her figuring out the timing, especially to putt when the blade is blocking the hole? Yeah, she's cool as a cucumber and patient. She figures out that timing pretty darn well.
