Stan follows everyone else to the pile of ashes.

"What's going on? Why is the counselor talking about death so much? What does he mean 'the others will die alongside you soon'? Are we doing a murder mystery game or something like that?"

He looks down to see the pile.

"Oh...that's...that's not dirt, is it?"

"That was one of us. Someone burned one of the campers to death."

"It's definitely a murder mystery, but I wouldn't call it a game unless you've got a messed up sense of humor. Or maybe are one of the killers or that creepy witch, they might think it's a game. I think it's messed up."

She looks at the rope again.

"Sorry, I got nervous and fidgety there."

[Dookie]

His hand grips his backpack harder and starts backing away.

"...They're dead? T-they got murdered???"

He starts to panic.

"T-T-THEY'RE FUCKING DEAD??? OH MY GOD, DUDE! HOLY SHIT!"

His slow backing up turns quicker, before he starts full on dashing away from the campsite.

You try to escape by running from the camp as far as possible. But then you're quick to notice the wall of fire that blocks the entire surrounding area you and everyone else are at.

THERE IS NO ESCAPE, MORTAL!!!!

Her voice is so loud, so booming, it knocks everyone down into the ground. And it knocks, you Stan, into the wall of fire. Now you're set ablaze. Too hot for winter clothes, no?

From where the tree is to somewhere ending around where the RVs are, you found some footprints. All of which look like they were all disfigured.

As he comes back to life, he tries to regain his ground...breathing in and out anxiously...shuddering, hunched up and scared, he tries to speak, but the words won't come out.

The thoughts of what happened slowly came in. Before being angry, or scared, or sad, Stan was just confused. He just remembered seeing a pile of ashes...running away...getting thrown into fire...blowing up...and now he was alive. Had he gone insane? No...the pain he felt was real. It had to be real. And the ranger..the ranger talking about death, and letting people kill, and setting him on fire, and rolling him into a tank...

"Oh my god...," he manages to mutter, "Y-you...you killed me. You bastard."

Phikul had somehow gone back to being a deer while he was asleep. He'd heard everything happening.

“No,” he says, turning in the direction of the new voice, “And…I'm not steppin’ in it, am I? Wouldn't want to disrespect the dead.”

Talantravi Alksorkhin is back, alive, and quickly arrives at the scene of the crime. She stalks onto the scene, bow out, axe out, and hair blowing in the nonexistent wind. The temperature seems to drop several degrees.

Another hunter, foolish enough to step into my forest. She should have known that every hunter who has come before has met their end. Alksor Thrahchprad Hyahrokhin, Vahldahlkol Redzhyklyen! Her death is good, I would have had most likely to cut her down eventually.

But we must find who did such a thing without my order. She could have joined us, she could have aided the Alksor Vahl's ever growing territory, but she instead was struck down before she could oppose or join me. For this denial of a servant, the witch will pay. She cannot expect mercy. The Invader Dies.

During the nightmare, Ting-Lu instead sees its vessel shattered and body/construct absent, to pretty much the same effect.

I had a most concerning suspicion someone would not be waking up from that nightmare any time soon. How irritating that it should be true.
It's less annoyed than its words suggest.
It lumbers towards the site of the pile of ashes. It just about sees the footprints and sniffs at them.

Then it turns to address the crowd in general again.
On the subject of our most recent, most likely extra-dimensional arrival, I suggest that it would be a great help if any who could be easily mistaken for one of the witch's thralls would please speak up about it immediately.
