Machines are cool, you're right, Entrapta! Mettaton could do some very cool things. I'm sorry he's not here anymore. But right now... we are who we are. We have a chance of finding the bakas and getting out of here. If we keep it together and work together.

"And then what? I can't just rebuild Mettaton." She gestures toward the pile of ash that once was an oven. "If I live, I'll always know I didn't act strong enough to save him."

...No, we can't just rebuild him, I guess. We couldn't rebuild any of us. That's... mortality. It's a part of being human, too. Or any living being. He... now he shares that with us.

Would he want you to give up, though, just because you -- none of us -- could save him? Even if you don't connect with us, if you get out, you can... connect with other robots. Help them.

"N-not really. Knowing I'll never see him again." She sniffed and wiped a tear from her eye. "B-but, yeah, I guess so. Find other bots and keep this from happening to them again. Even if they w-won't be him...Someone has to help those poor little bots out there." She smiles a teensy bit.

Well, that makes... things easier. We're winning. Five to two is a good ratio, and there's a reasonably obvious next target for them to target, so I can just break some more minds and get another problem resolved, I hope.

Either way we have enough time and things to get out of this alive, probably with only one or two more casualties, and considering wartime numbers, that's pretty good.

Entrapta just raised a brow. "We're actually going to try voting Gundham next time, right?"

... Probably... But then again... you'd think someone would have gone for them considering how... inactive they've been lately...

... And also, I'm starting to get worried because we're going to start seeing some of the ROLES dead... And like I said a few days ago... Me and Entrapa are probably priority targets considering our particular roles...

"What if he's only faking being inactive? I mean, every time it came down to him but we let him off the hook, an innocent died in his place. I know it only happened twice, but it's still suspicious to me. Should I block him tonight, though, what if I waste my shot and someone else gets murdered?"

"His not being targeted could be telling, yeah. On the other hand, they could be going after people who have claimed valuable roles; someone who isn't active might not be seen as threatening to the bakas than someone who can stop or redirect their kills."

[PopcornPie]

"But they clearly want to pick off all the normals first. Well, and Coldsteel."

[Kennifer]

"No, I don't think so... the first night, nobody'd claimed roles so they wouldn't have known Hypercam was a normie. And Coldsteel was one of them; Lucintsea did a swap with... Kanade was it? And she'd claimed a role."

"Yeah, we would have lost Kanade if it wasn't for Lucintsea. Still, though...why Mettaton? If he actually had a role, we would have known by now, right?"[

"What do you mean? Jamie said that Mettaton was a Normie after the execution. Why did he get voted off? I don't know. Something about physical strength if I remember right?"

"I think what Mettaton said was proof he was innocent. He said he was fully charged. If he had gotten up during the night to kill Coldsteel, he wouldn't be. Unless he was lying, which I could easily have proved by looking at his battery."

"...He was innocent. We were told that. He was a Normie."

"I mean before we were told. Metatton could easily have been disproven as the killer during the trial. Compare that to Gundham, who hasn't even been awake that we know of all this time."

Ask the people who were pushing for Metatton to be the one we voted for. Which wasn't most of us. In any case, I don't know anything about bots like that. If he could have fully charged after doing something like that, I have no idea. And nobody did actually check or made it a point during the time we were discussing him.

"Ohhh, okay yeah. That's... actually why I didn't vote. I wanted everyone's stories, and well, we didn't have that."

Entrapta looked down, sighing and shaking her head. "I should have. I really should have."

I didn't mean it like you should blame yourself again...

Selen(ium) looks like she really wants to comfort Entrapta but has no idea how to. Maybe she should just be quiet if this is all she's getting anywhere.

umm I might be wrong... but there was no more evidence. There was literally no way to disprove Mettaton did it without killing him. We were told. It probably isn't Gundham because the third killer would have been the one who'd have to do something, because Gundahm's busy dying of an overdose.

I don't regret my decision to go for Mettaton. it's all going to work out great soon. No one will see what's about to happen coming. Except me. I think I can eliminate another of our killers tonight, and then we can pick up the last one tomorrow. But everyone else's lack of conviction to make a call is what killed Mettaton, if you really thought he didn't do it. There was no way for someone's story to be checked, because there's no way to cross-verify.

Agreed, mortal. If they did not want the machine to perish, the mortals should have eliminated someone else. However, this was almost certainly the correct call, even if the immediate result seems foolish.
