Murderverse Falls
Great, we got lost in the woods by our fine leaders. Great job there, guys, Mindy said in a bitter ironic way. What's next? You'll all lead us to a camp and we all get killed by some evil counselor? Brilliant, guys, just brilliant.

Instead of moping though, Mindy will get right to work.

1. See, where I come from, you gotta watch for some kinda landmark when you go into somewhere unfamiliar. I looked at everywhere around me, like some kinda rock, a weird-lookin' tree, kept it all in my head as I went along. Then I look around for everything I kept in mind and before I know it, I'm outta the woods, no thanks to our Scout Leaders here.

2. Rain? It ain't quite time to hit the showers just yet. Rather be in the privacy of my cabin for that. I'll look around for some dead trees. There's gotta be some kinda bark I can break off. I'll just use that and hold it over my head to keep myself dry.

3. Oh yea, that hawk that Paul Bunyan and I took down. I'll just use my hands to start a nice little fire and roast the thing. It'd be well-done, and I'm pretty sure it'll taste like chicken. That's what people say about everything. Human meat, caterpillars, frogs. They all taste like chicken. So I don't see why a hawk wouldn't taste like chicken. But either way, a nice warm meal.
I like bananas. They're yellow.
You don't see Emilia anywhere. That's odd. Maybe she stumbled right into the anomaly and was swallowed up by some mysterious force. Who knows? But instead, you find two odd teenagers who look just as lost as everybody else. One has pink hair, rabbit ears, a long tail, and a scarf; the other has green hair, pointy, elf-like ears, a bobtail, and a large cape. The one with pink hair speaks up first, rather reluctantly.

"Hello. Sorry for asking but uh... can you provide directions to the nearest town?"

It's the girl's turn to speak. She seems more optimistic. "Yeah! We woke in these woods, and for some reason travel magic doesn't work here! No worries! I'm sure we can get used to this place. Where ever it is, but still!

"Anya, uh... I hope you don't get too confident. This uh... does not like look like Sumeonya! We could be anywhere."

"Eki, we'll be fine! I haven't seen any monsters so far. We just have to rough it, y'know!"

"Maybe i could..."

Gooble will turn into a falcon and fly around, exploring the path from a birds' eye view and his keen senses to see which will lead back to the village.

You get a really good look from above and find the right path with ease. (Rolled 9 +1 for clever use of shapeshifting for a total of 10).

Quote:* Make something to keep the rain off while you walk

Gooble can find a particularly large leaf and use it as a makeshift umbrella. If he can't... he'll use his hands.

With yourself at a small size you find a nice big leaf that works well. (Rolled 10).

Quote:* Find something in the woods you can eat on the way so you have enough energy. If you need to, figure out how to cook it.

"I have an idea!"

Gooble will turn into a raccoon and will search, forage and dig around for tasty nuts, fruits, and berries.

You find a decent supply of nuts as well as some berries. Yum. (Rolled 6 +1 for shapeshifting for a total of 7.)

Gooble has scored 27 points.

This goes pretty well, you found a rock with an unusual moss formation on it, which you're able to keep in mind to find again to help you get out.  (Rolled 6 +1 for street smarts for a total of 7).

It takes a bit of effort to find a tree with loose bark, and when you do... oops it's got a hole in it and you get wet anyway. (Rolled 2 +1 for street smarts for a total of 3).

A little too warm, actually. You get a bit overzealous and end up burning it. There's still some edible meat, at least. (Rolled 2 +1 for pyrokinesis +1 for street smarts for a total of 4.)

Stupid leaders, gettin' us lost. Think they'd bring a compass or somethin' but no. Great program here. Can't find a nice piece of bark to keep myself dry either.... let's not bring umbrellas or anything, no... Mindy just went into bitter complaining as she

>starts another small fire, but this one will be used to dry herself off after getting drenched by the rain.
I like bananas. They're yellow.
Destiny takes out her lighter, and uses it on a little stick, to make a torch. She's not going to use up all the juice her lighter had on this dumb shit. Then, she looks at the new duo.

"Look, I don't know who you weird...are you some fucking werefolk or something? If you try any shit, I'm going to beat your asses, but right now, you're helping us get out.

Holy Fuck It's A Tree
* Find out which direction you need to be going to get back

Destiny's had experience being in the middle of nowhere, in the middle of the night. One of the few good things her dad taught her was about how to interpret the stars. The celestials draw not just your path in life, but also the path on how to get around in this physical world.
Destiny identifies the North Star. Polaris. She remembers the main trail from the camp, and how it went west from the camp, last she checked. So, using the star as a guide, she heads east.
Her next thought is to try and find a stream. She remembers there was a river, one they had to hit a ball across in the last challenge. If she finds the river, she plans to follow it as well.
Finally, of course, follow the goddamn trail as much as she can. There should be trail markers, right? Most competent trail makers put them. The little aqua marks on the Appalachian, that shit.

She also screams at the rest of the idiots. "Kids, you mean well, but god, this was fucking stupid. And all of you are going to be just as stupid if you don't folow me."

* Make something to keep the rain off while you walk

Destiny's lazy. She's just going to put her leather jacket over her head. This thing's reliable as hell.

* Find something in the woods you can eat on the way so you have enough energy. If you need to, figure out how to cook it.

Destiny thinks to herself as her stomach rumbles. Honestly, she's used to going without food for a bit. She's on a trip with her dad and he's too full of fucking tunnel vision or paranoia to try and stop at McDonalds or something like that.
She's not going to be an idiot and just eat any plant off the ground. Poison's the kind of thing that permeates this kind of place, especially if there's a demon around.
She thinks about Paul's brag. "God, what if I just shook her down to get us maple fucking syrup. Hey! If anyone finds food, you're sharing the damn thing. Make maple syrup, make roast hawk, whatever." Calling for help sometimes worked.
But she knows she can't rely on other people.

She'll find a really good rock, and a really good stick she can sharpen. If she finds an animal, a bird or squirrel or something, throw a rock at it, kill that fucker. If she finds the river, she can try and go spear fishing.

... Lost?

In the woods? When you're a *wyvern*???

The first thing that comes to Catar's mind is that she can literally *fly*. Granted, Catar hasn't... has she done much, actually? No, not really... I guess the investigation got to her a little. And then she realizes she forgot to eat *anything* for breakfast.

... might as well eat something on the way, yeah. Thankfully, the map seems to have her answers.

You were built for this.
  1. Catar can't exactly get a proper start to her take off- rain messing with the floor and all that. Still, she looks for enough clearing among the leaves, and once she finds it, attempts to sprint across the ground and take off to the skies anyways. The vantages are obvious- wait what do you mean the rain.
  2. Well. She can't do much about the rain with what she currently has, but at least she tries to fly at a slower pace (to stop Random Things flying into her, or even worse- any kind of thing accidentally flying into her eyes)
  3. There was a river around, yeah? Look for that while you're flying, and try to go along it's stream to find out where you are. Swoop down and try to catch some fish in your mouth.

it is me. awe921, the greatest face in all of koridai
"Werefolk?", the green-haired girl apparently named Anya asks. "We can't transform into animals, so we're just humans! Have you seen somebody with animal-like ears and a tail before? A long time ago, humankind was divided into three categories: humans, beastfolk, and fae, but now nobody cares anymore!"

The rabbit person, called Eki, interrupts? "Uh... Anya, everyone else appears to be lost too. Um... our biggest priority right now should be surveying this land to figure out where we are. W-would you help me out right now?"

"...We'll talk later, torch girl, OK?"

Anya takes a deep breath. Good thing this isn't the first time Eki and Anya have been stranded in a forest.

"Now, what would be the quickest way to find a way out?"

"Uh... we observe it with our skysails?"

"Ding ding ding! I knew you would say that! Why did I even bother asking?"

"But uh... with the current level of rain, it would be wise if one of us stayed on the ground, and set up shelter until it's safe to pass."

"Understood. Let's get to it!"

Routine Adventuring Business
1. Anya agrees to be the one surveying this place. She's the better flyer between her and Eki, anyway. First, Anya looks for a good place to start gliding from, preferably a cliff or a hill. After getting a running start, she leaps off, opens her skysail, and lets the winds carry her up into the sky. Once she's high enough, Anya searches for any points of interest, or better yet, signs of civilization. A town is going to be this group's best bet. She can just fly to it if she wanted to, but the rain makes it hard to so. After she's done observing, Anya will float back down to where Eki is, with Eki prepared to catch her if she flubs the landing.

2. While Anya is busy searching for a way out, Eki brainstorms ideas for a shelter. Hm, they can control the size of their skysail. Maybe they can make a makeshift tent using that and some sticks. If that doesn't work, they can just  use the skysail as a blanket. They'll still get wet, but some warmth is better than none.

3. Once Eki and Anya reunite, they realize they're running on empty stomachs. They would rather not starve to death, so they split up again to search for food. Anya mostly focuses on collecting edible fruits and nuts, while Eki has their eyes on the wildlife of this forest. They usually avoid hunting unless necessary, but this is not the time to hesitate. Eki sharpens a stick to use as a spear and start looking for potential sources of meat. Along the way, they also search for wood and flint so Eki and Anya can cook what they find for that extra nutrition.

We are lost? Oh no! I think I can help us get back to human civilization!

Jimothy the lost Human
1: If I climb a tree, I should be able to see everything! Being up high definitely provides intel-gathering capabilities.

2: Jimothy holds his skateboard above his head. A wonderful human tool with a variety of uses!

3: Did you know that humans can survive for weeks on end without sustenance? I might be able to go a bit longer than that, but hopefully we will only be gone for a few hours at most. I will definitely help myself to a delicious cheeseburger when we get back. And, if need be, I might be able to chance some wild mushrooms.

hey who turned out the lights?
Zee are somewhat relieved by the sight of the newcomers, figuring they came from their area of the multiverse. They don't know a place called Sumeonya, though, but it sounds Chén, and they aren't very familiar with the more eastern regions of the Yuánlín Realm, so they don't think too much of it.

Besides, they've got other things to think about. Namely...

2) The patter of rain sounds from above.

Moth scales and rain do not mix. Zee have to find something to cover them before they get wet and stuck in place. They dart- more like scramble, really- about the trees, gathering leaves and twigs and... oh man, are they licking them? No, they're sticking them together with moth silk! Which is more of a caterpillar thing, really, but they're Faeries, and Faerie logic is weird. They form a sort of cloak, which Zee hold over their head.

3) Zee make the decision to return to their roots and begin foraging for plants whose stalks are small enough for them to pierce through and drink their sap. Maybe also pick some flowers for the road.

Gooble greets Eki and Anya, seemingly curious about the two.

"You're new here, are you? My name is Gooble! I'm a mysterious specimen from outer space, and i have some cool powers! I can do this!"

Gooble then transform into a little kitten. "Purr!" he purrs. Next he transforms into a bluebird, which then flies around, chirping. Then, he turns into an alligator, who shows his teeth. Finally he transform into his true form which is an adorable blue blob, seemingly tired. Then he turns into his boy form.

"Tada! So who are you?"
Hiiii!
Destiny just looks at the newcomers. "God, is everyone in this place delusional? Maybe they're aliens too. Hopefully they're fucking aliens."

She looks at Gooble. "Damn, has your mom never told you not to talk to strangers?"

Destiny rolls a 5, a 10-1 for laziness, and a 6, for a final score of 20.

Her idea of using the stars and the waterways to find their way back is a decent one. Unfortunately, most of the stars are hidden by the leaves, so figuring out where Polaris is is harder than she thought, and the trail twists and turns. The stream works ok, but the riverbank can be hard going. And the trail markers are... inconsistent, to say the least.

The leather jacket works surprisingly well at keeping the rain off, actually. (Is it big and waterproofed?)

Finally, the teamwork and spear fishing do work decently enough, you suppose. Somebody does manage to find some edible berries they share (not poisoned), and you do catch a medium sized fish.

Catar has rolled a 2+2 for flying and tenacity, 3+1 for flying, and 3+1 for flying. This leaves her with a score of 12.

As expected, it is difficult to take off in the rain. Unfortunately, the amount of space needed to get up enough speed to get up in the air is also difficult to achieve in a forest. Catar crashes into a few before she finally, rain-soaked, gets up. She's going to be sore in the morning.

The river is a decent idea, at least. Although flying is still tiring and difficult under the conditions.

It's also difficult to see fish under the water. But she does eventually manage to catch a small one. She'll need it, with the amount of energy she's expending.

Eki and Anya look at the blob in interest? Wait, it can shapeshift? Oh Goddess, it better not be a Doppelganger. But at the same time, Doppelgangers' true forms aren't blue and don't have faces, and changelings don't have faces while transforming either. What is this thing?

"Awww! That's so cool, and you're adorable!" Anya says. "Anyways... names! Oh Eki, get ready to introduce yourself!"

"(Got it.)"

"I'm Anya Wannai, crown princess of Iva Province! I also do research work on the side, and adventuring too."

"...Uh... my name is Eki. I am also a researcher and an adventurer. Uh... nice to meet you. I guess."

"You just got a last name, you know!"

Eki doesn't pay attention to Anya's comment. Instead, they're focused on Destiny's apparent racism.

"Hey! Uh... we're not aliens! Have you seriously uh... not met any humans without round ears and no tail?"

Then, Eki blurts a interesting question. A very interesting question. They might as well confirm their growing suspicions about this place.

"Uh... what year is it?"
"What? No, unless you've lived your whole goddamn life in a furry convention. Anyways, uh, 2005? Right."

Hiiii!
Eki and Anya have rolled a 7+2 for skysailing ability, 4, and a 10+1 for being good with weapons. This leaves them with a score of 24.

Good idea looking for a better place to launch from. Anya gets a quite decent lay of the land while she's up there that she can tell to everyone when she returns. The direction of the town and the camp should be very helpful. Even in the rain, she can get a good enough view to work well, even if it's not perfect.

The makeshift tent works - mostly. The way it's set up does let drips come through in places, and the sticks propping it up fall down occasionally.

They do great on the hunting, though! They manage to take down a decent-sized deer and dress and cook it, even in the rain.

You take a bit to get the holograms and model to where you can read them, and while it takes a bit to get yourself properly oriented to read it and remember the positions you do get the gist of where you are and how to get out. (Rolled 3, +1 for holograms and +1 for good memory for details for a total of 5.)

Jimothy rolls a 5, a 2, and a 10, for a final score of 17 points

Jimothy is able to do some climbing, but it's difficult. Plus, these trees are really tall.

...Strangely, or maybe predictably, the skateboard doesn't offer much respite from the rain. Jimothy gets soaked. Hey, a new Earth experience, maybe?

Jimothy's metabolism does help him out big time here, though. (That's within the normal human range of metabolism, right?) He also finds a nice big stand of edible mushrooms. Very lucky that they are indeed edible for him and the others. I doubt human produced books on edible mushrooms take Kirexian physiology into account, and even human mushroom foragers are known to get it wrong sometimes.
