[Mafia] Witch Trip 2: The Witch is Back
> try to put the fire out (Veronica)

You tried to throw dirt on it, but it doesn't work
I like bananas. They're yellow.
> Also try to put the fire out
Hiiii!
> Also try to put the fire out (Ai and Popo)

Popo uses his wings to fan out the flames. It works but he also blows off all the leaves from the bush.
I like bananas. They're yellow.
"I guess no leaves is better than being on fire, at least."

A pause.

"So the killer either used Claudette's own lighter on her, or they lit the fire another way and planted the lighter to throw people off. And either way had better luck doing so than everyone was having trying to make a campfire last night."
Stupid doomed timeline...
Ting-Lu turns to Veronica.
No, I don't. The point is that it matters not.

It asks Konji:
I know not, but can offer a few guesses. Perhaps it is simply a trick to lower morale or mislead us. Or maybe I really am too dangerous to live, in their mind. ...A moment. Why do you say "he"?

Turning back to Veronica.
Are there those who can create fire in our presence? Should the lighter have been planted, those would be the most likely suspects. But if they are trying to keep a low profile, it seems more likely they would've used the lighter.

Amazing!
So... is there anything we should purrsue? Any notable leads, things we need to try and find?
hey who turned out the lights?
"I'd like to know why it doesn't matter though. You immortal or something? As for the fire thing I think the dragon and that kid who's here with his mom were trying to make some without a lighter, but they didn't succeed."
Stupid doomed timeline...
After regaining his composure, Stan comes back to the group.

"Ok, so we gotta find out who did it, right? Alright, so we know they were lit on fire by their own lighter. Ok. cool."

He attempts to > Look at the lighter - without turning it on - to check for any scratches or prints or such
why do they call it oven when you of in the cold food of out hot eat the food
> Look at the lighter - without turning it on - to check for any scratches or prints or such (Stan)

You don't find anything of that sort on the lighter
I like bananas. They're yellow.
I simply have titanic fortitude. Who do you think can beat me in a fight, even with a head start?

Ting-Lu nods its head after listening to Veronica's mention of Konji and Popo.

Both male too, which fits with the dragon's assumption the perpetrator was male. Though this does not exhaust all the possible male characters gathered here, one, at least, seemed to be absent at the time.

Konji limps over to the now-dead bush.

If these smolders can make ashen these tiny beings, then I know not what else may happen. It would take incredibly long strokes of a tree trunk to start a fire here.

Konji puts his hook near Stan's face.

But the little loud leaf boy could not do it. He would burn himself.
You know where you are? You're in the jungle baby.
Wait... Ting-Lu, when did the dragon say... that? I probably just didn't notice, but I don't recall him saying that... meowch those wasp stings still hurt.
hey who turned out the lights?
It glances at Dorothy.
He referred to the as-of-yet unknown perpetrator as "he" when he enquired about who wrote the message proclaiming my demise. Specifically, when he was questioning their motives for leaving the note.
It has a sudden thought...
Come to think of it, they might just have a thing for theatrical calling cards. My prime suspect for who left the note remains the witch herself.

"Could have been just a general 'he' instead of actually presuming a gender? I dunno. I usually say 'they' for that. Or it could have been a slip up. But probably a general thing? I dunno. We should probably be looking for more solid leads though."
Stupid doomed timeline...
I-- I'm sorry? I don't know his sex. ...I would assume "she" just means "the more distant one."

You would be wrong, creature. I had nothing to do with what happened the last night other than the fact I watched what went on then snatched Claudette's soul for myself. Other than taking her and torturing her soul right now, I have no hand in what the other mortals have done in the previous night. She is right, you know. It's up to you all to find out who's responsible for the poor girl's death. Then maybe, we can bring her soul to peace. Do you really believe this? That these foolish mortals can actually find the ones who are possessed. They are all in over their heads! Hey, it's happened once before, you know. Before you took me over.
I like bananas. They're yellow.
"Okay so yeah, cultural difference pronoun weirdness and not an actual clue."

Veronica will...

>Get another look at the message, can she tell what might've been used to carve it?
Stupid doomed timeline...
>Get another look at the message, can she tell what might've been used to carve it? (Veronica)

It appears that the message was carved into the tree using some kind of bladed instrument. Then you remember Claudette's carving knife and use it to write your name onto another part of the tree itself. Comparing the two, it appears the Ting-Lu death threat was written into the tree with Claudette's knife.
I like bananas. They're yellow.
"Okay, so whoever it was used her knife, and whoever killed her probably used her lighter or wanted us to think they did. Whether those are the same person I dunno."
Stupid doomed timeline...
"Dolls don't sleep, so I was awake all night," Maryann says.

>try to recall if she saw or heard anything
nya
Could he... er... The girl... have been trying to warn us of their plans? I cannot read this script, but... now I am recognizing that that might have been hard to do while he... she? burnt alive and returned to his dying spot.
You know where you are? You're in the jungle baby.
>try to recall if she saw or heard anything (Maryann)

You do recall some screaming that was probably from Claudette burning alive. But also you do recall a figure in the shadows, and said figure is not tall.
I like bananas. They're yellow.
"Ok, so she was carrying a lighter...the murderer used that to kill her...she was carrying a knife...the murderer used that to kill her..."

> Check the area for any other things that might have been dropped by either the victim or the murderer
why do they call it oven when you of in the cold food of out hot eat the food

You look at the footprints left at the scene of the crime and while they look disguised, you can tell what the size of them are, which could have been made by a small person of adult-size.
I like bananas. They're yellow.
So, we're looking for short people? That includes myself, definitely. Not meowny others, though. I'm not that good at people heights... who else is short?
hey who turned out the lights?
