BEFORE WE START:

Please make sure you understand the rules as laid out in the sign-up thread. If you have a question, please do ask! We will, however be using a 1-10 roll system for regular (non-zombification) action rolls  rather than 1-6 as implied. As with other recent games, we will not be indicating the number you have rolled when stating the result.

Action Rolls: Always preface a rollable action with ">", as in 'Frankie >checks whether her tranq gun is where she left it.', or your action will not get processed. Rollable actions are those you need a result for and those that have a chance of failure. Location changes should be stated but do not need to be rolled. Food and drink when they have been provided (ie, at a party or breakfast where there is clearly food and drink) also do not need to be rolled.

ESCAPE FROM ZOMBIE ISLAND PARK 2

You find yourself on a beach. There's a map

   

and a sign saying 'Zombie Island: Base Camp'. There are cabins. There's also a big banner: "WELCOME, NEW EMPLOYEES!". There's a lovely spread of tropical appetizers, finger food, and even a bar in one corner of the beach. You can see the bar has a blender and a cooler with lots of ice for mixed drinks. It's definitely decorated for a party. Is there a display of pamphlets about the sustainability rating of the food and how much of it is vegan and how the meat was raised humanely? Yes, there is.

A rather strangely pale young woman with red hair and eyes comes out to greet you. So does a muscly blond man wearing an eyepatch. They introduce themselves as Dr. Francine "Frankie" Frankenstein, your new employer, and her chief animal handler, Blaine Crockett.

There's even a screen and a projector set up, as if they were going to give a presentation later on.

"I'll show you about the park and your exact duties later.", Frankie says. "For now, enjoy yourselves and get to know one another."

The purple-haired Miqo'te lass is leaning on a wall, nomming on the tropical appetizers.

Right, socialize among yourselves. And get to know each other. You'll all be workin' together for a good bit of time, Blaine says in his thick Australian accent.

[Kennifer]

A teenage girl with black bobbed hair and yellow barrette, dressed in a blue T-shirt and skirt, knee socks and black high-top sneakers is here now. She looks... well, not as excited as she feels, as she goes to get some appetizers. Having seen her mother drunk more than a few times (and being underage by quite a lot) she's not going near the bar, but she'll get some juice to go with her food.

[Florien]

Two virtually identical looking late middle-aged men with walrus mustaches, (the only difference being one is noticeably older) standing right next to each other at the bar, drinking identical tumblers of brandy at an identical rate.

We're just here to find one of our own reported missing here.

There's no cause for alarm.

Unless, that is, you have something to hide.

We are, of course, joking.

Mostly.

We've lost a number of members in recent times.

We just want to make sure that such tragic occurrences do not continue to happen.

Everything will be fine.

Why, thank you, Herlock! I'm glad you like it. Not everyone does.

Frankie is now sipping on a Gin and Tonic to which she's added something from a flask she's carrying.

Ignatius waves his extremely sweaty hair with his cap. Nothing like a tropical adventure to knock you out of your comfort zone, ey? He's clearly not enjoying this, by his constant speech.

"Fortuna makes every good thing have it's downsides, yes, that's it. The unbearable temperature is just the wheel spinning down."

Despite his negative verbiage, he's gobbling down a lot of the appetizers.

Frankie turns to the Clevelands. ...Um. I haven't seen a third person that looks like you walking around here, if that's what you're asking. Sorry, I can't help you with that in particular.

[Mr. Lee Hammer]

Dr. Frankie, you just reminded me of somethin'. Remember you were tellin' me about the last employees you had here, just cryin' and whinin' about bein' here when they knew what they signed up for. And I don't wanna have to hear any of it as long as you're all stuck here. Whatever happens, you all deal with it, got it?

[Huney]

Komaru looks around with wonder. The beach! A new job! Zombies!

... Okay the last part was weird, sure, but every place has to have their gimmick, she figures. She turns to everyone, waving. "Hey guys! My name is Komaru Naegi! I hope we all get along  here!"

[Kennifer]

"I think it's nice here too," the teenaged girl says as she glances around. The eerie unison of the two gentlemen at the bar reminds her a bit of Andy and Ollie Pesto, even though the men look to both be a bit older than her father. Well, maybe a bit creepier.

"Anyway, I'm looking forward to meeting the animals I heard were going to be here. Especially if any of them are horses."

She was also looking forward to those zombies she'd heard about, but she didn't vocalize this part.

Frankie nods at Blaine's mention of the grumbling among her former employees.

Then she nods at the teenage girl. I had some lovely eohippus... still have a few but I have to keep them in a special stable I've had to move into more 'endangered' than extinct lately, but I do have some Przewalski's horses!

Why, hello, Komaru! Suppose you come from Japan, then. Personally, I want to know if this bar serves fine wine. ...although everyone here dresses kind of funny.

"Yeah, yeah, we're dealing with the animals at the park, I get it," Hitomi says.

[Kennifer]

The girl smiles, her usually stoic expression shifting to a happier one usually reserved for things like boy bands, cute boys' butts, and... horses.

"Excellent. I can't wait to see them." Her voice, however, retained its usual near-monotone.

[Florien]

No, not like us, quite. The younger of the pair replies to the Doctor.

Just part of our little organization.

Fairly tall, dislikes shirts, obsessed with bimetallism, carries around a huge, solid gold cross?

You can't miss him.

He disappeared. And the people who did it...

Well, they're going to wish that they hadn't caused that.

But we can stay on this island for a while.

Yes. And investigate the matter of his mysterious disappearance.

And Make Sure It Never Happens Again.

The synchronized pair simultaneously finish their brandy and place the tumblers back on the bar.

The matter of retaliation is important. We can't keep losing members like this.

Garfield, Quayle, Arthur,

Harrisphere, Mcstevenkingly, and now Bryan?

Well, we'd rather not lose more members.

And we'd rather not have to unleash the Rutherhorde.

It's much too destructive.

Frankie nods at the men, but confusedly.

Right. If I come across anyone of that description, I'll be sure to let you know. You haven't seen anyone like that, have you, Blaine?

[Dookie]

A 20-something woman with black hair, a blue shirt, and glasses runs onto the island.

“EEEEEEEEE! THIS IS GONNA BE THE BEST BEACH VACATION EVER!”

[Mr. Lee Hammer]

No, I haven't, Doctor, Blaine says as he cracks open a bottle of beer from the bar.

[Huney]

"Va-... Vacation? Wait, I thought this was a job..."

Komaru raises her hand. "Uh. Sorry! Whaaat exactly are we expected to be doing?"

[PointMaid]

...It is a job, yes. You are expected to work. You see the banner? Didn't you apply? She sighs.

What are you expected to do? Help me keep this island running. This place needs more than just me and Blaine.

Hitomi shrugs. "Some people think anything that happens on a tropical island is a vacation..."

[Mr. Lee Hammer]

And the idiots come through..., Blaine whispers under his breath as he takes a chug of his beer.

"Hey, there's no idiots here! I kind of like that viewpoint actually! If you think work is a vacation, you're not really working, right?"
