Meanwhile, B-Sha checks out the empty office building. The higher floors give a clear view of the parking lot of block 2, the tables on block 4, the parking lot on block 3, and the entirety of blocks 5 and 9.

Meanwhile, Scott Nudges the guard, [10] pushing them out of their chair and onto the pavement.

FUCKING GOD... hell do you want? Get out.

Their voice is remarkably calm sounding, after the shout of "fucking god", but it quickly becomes clear that the guard has no intention of talking to Scott after that debacle, every response being a monosyllabic grunt of "Mm."

Meanwhile, B-Sha looks at the view. Nothing particularly interesting is happening in the visible place, aside from Wood Man and Snap in the parking lot of 2.

Meanwhile, in block 9's breakroom: [8]

You'd better be telling the truth here. I didn't do no crime, that clear? So... Jane Doe, you say? I don't know no Jane Doe, but I was in the Catkin last night. I'd been at the bar, as I often am at night. I leave, and this lady, she starts following me. I assume she's a hooker, mugger, or thief. Nothing good out there, you know? So I turn around, and she's gone! Just like that! Pow! Then, I see this... guy, big, burly, bald, big blonde beard, with a shotgun and some kind of knife on it! Naturally, I got out of there as quickly as I could. I've heard the stories about the killer down there, and I didn't want to be the next victim, you know? I guess he must have got to her, you know? Oh god, I feel terrible!

Meanwhile, Seven asks around about previous victims [9], and learns that there are a few who weren't regulars in the Catkin. The police encampment on block three might have the C.M.E. reports on file for those.

...okay she'll leave the actual looking out for the guy to the other since that's probably not someone she can easily identify by smell, but everything sounded like it lined up with the report.

The short, surprisingly strong guard blocks Scott from getting into the Cafeteria Supply Warehouse, but does nothing as Scott walks into the unguarded chemical supply warehouse. [?] The main thing he finds off about that warehouse is that it's unguarded. It has a lot of fairly dangerous chemicals in it, but it has neither a security camera nor a guard in sight. Nothing else springs to mind.

And then suddenly, Anaheim replaces Ina.

Just thought I'd call in to tell you, there might be some mild hallucinogenic side effects from the memory erasure thing you received earlier. So... they should be wearing off now. You would have forgotten that warning, considering I gave it to you before the erasure.

Inspect the chemicals [7]: Scott recognizes a few as various cleaners of various hazardousness, ranging from normal detergents and sanitizers at the lower end to surface-strippers at the high end, requiring anywhere from no protective gear to goggles, a mask, an apron, and gloves to handle even in solution form. Also there's barrels of kerosene and butane in liquid form, and some canisters of compressed gas. There's also a bunch of unidentified chemicals with slightly alarming-looking hazard diamonds on them. Now if he only knew how to read hazard diamonds, he could tell how hazardous they really are, if not necessarily what they're for.

Anaheim rushes to the Catkin and starts going ham, >asking everyone there for any happenstance of some burly bald guy with a blond beard.

[Florien]

Anaheim runs into the Catkin... [2]. Snap tried mass interrogation earlier. The populace is not amused to be interrogated viciously a second time, and refuse to talk, or brush Anaheim off, or, in one case, euphemistically threaten him in a manner both confusing and intimidating.

[Cassie]

"I wtf man, you wanna rip my nuts, your nuts, or a tree's nuts off or somethin?'" Anaheim responds to the one weird threat.

"Guys, I tried to ask about the bald sus and didn't work."

He's a little confused, but he's got the spirit. After a bit, he waves at the guard before deciding to check the park.

Kaikoku, who was definitely there the whole time, gives a low whistle at Anaheim's utter rejection. You're overthinking this, my green friend. Here, let me see if we can't tide them over.
