We were about to get Matthew voted out because I was loudly shouting that we needed to take out the proclaimed miller. You, if I remember, were more interested in actually scumhunting via behavior, whereas I was working based entirely on the information we had been provided and making decisions based on that. I was actually unsure whether or not he was scum. I figured the worst case was that I'd get scumcred and the scum team would be more likely to go with whatever plans I implied I had, best case I'd get towncred and take out a scum team member right away, and the scum would think it was all a cunning plan on my part.
In this case, we've got what's essentially a better version of skipping the vote right in front of us. If we vote for Knife, we remove an execution immunity. Bulletproof doesn't provide any particularly useful service to the town, and execution immunity is always a bad thing, whoever holds it, because it throws off the rhythms of the game. Skipping the vote gives zero information for free.
Voting for Knife gives information for what seems to be a net gain in things "lost", because we don't actually lose any players. We just verify a role and if knife should turn up scum later, we can't have our execution attempt disrupted.

I am the They who says it!
