Five thinks for a bit. Then she tries to do some investigation. >Can she get Clara's phone records, was she calling anybody who might be the shooter a lot? Was she or any of the other police in the Nine Blocks when the murders where the bayoneting and shotgunning happened after death occurred? Can she figure out who the two people mentioned in the conspiracy theory are?

[9]: Holy crap, lucky! Clara dropped her phone when she sped off. You scroll through call history, and find a message, dated to the morning of the day before you arrived. Apparently she's not good about clearing out her inbox. The speech to text is worthless, but the recording itself proves fruitful...

"Hey, this is C. Just calling to remind you the consultants are showing up tomorrow. Try to keep them guessing, don't be too helpful. As far as they know, you know nothing. As much fun as it is to hold the whole thing a couple weeks ago over your head, I'm glad we're friends here. Sorry again about the CSI guy. I had to do it, you understand, I'm sure. Anyway, got a body over here, so you can find it whenever, and then I've got to head off. Work, right? Welcome the new fourth member of our group when you get the chance, the construction guy. Bye."

It's distorted in much the same way as the other, so the caller can't be identified, but it's from the same number that called Romero.

Meanwhile, everyone does a records search and uncovers...

[Autosuccess By Volume of searchers]: Clara isn't in block 7 at night most nights. She's sometimes there, but not often enough to be there every morning to kill someone. The last time there was a heavy police presence was after the first victim, and the presence almost completely vanished after one of them was killed and they didn't catch the killer.

[Autosuccess]: The two people in the conspiracy who got mentioned? Well, you ask around, look them up, and all that, and eventually some guy says "oh, the conspiracy is stupid, they're just Strickland Semiconductor people. They come around here all the time, looking for people willing to work in their places. Got their warehouse guards from around here. Guess someone tried to sue them or something stupid like that and they left. Shame, I was going to turn in my application next time they came by."

(Oh, also let it be know that you were all issued with phones to communicate with one another at the start and that I totally didn't forget to include that in either intro post what are you talking about. So uhh yeah you have phones. To communicate with each other.)

...So, Clara got a message from this C, not sending one. Telling her to pick up a body. She might only be disposing of bodies and evidence, I'm not sure, but she's definitely in cahoots with whoever they are.

Cross Referencing time! [7]: Seko was reported clocking out late on a few of the nights. Specifically, the nights #4, #7, #14, and #22 died.

Strickland Semiconductors. [6]: You check the Wikipedia page, and learn that Strickland Semiconductors International is a major supplier in the semiconductor wafercutter/depositor market. (That is, they make the machines that make the wafers from which computer chips are made.) As a result, they are one of the dominant players in the world computer market while being a relatively small corporation as tech companies go. Their CEO is Richard Altadena. They're incorporated in Delaware, headquartered in Fort Tiller, (a city about two hours drive away) and their end-user license agreement insists you sue them in River County, the county in which Tripford is. Also you remember that the warehouse that no one's been in is owned by them.

Go to the apartment and lock the door. [10]: You board yourself WAY the fuck in.

Consume bread and think. [5]: You can't think of anyone specific, but you do abruptly develop advanced criminal profiling skills, psuedoscientific though they may be, and somehow determine that C is definitely one of their initials, and they're presumably someone who rarely, if ever, leaves the nine blocks.

Find somewhere safe. [8]: The same place should work. Runner Five vanishes into wherever she went last night.

Find somewhere safe. [9]: Evil Jay Leno thinks, and turns an unmarked wall into a hall, and then turns it back into a wall, securing himself where no one will find him without considerable effort.

[7]: Sariel heads to the apartment to sleep... and notices that there's water running down the stairs. They brush it off for just a second, which is unfortunately long enough for...

[4]: Wood man to go into an apartment on the third floor just as a room on the fourth floor caves in from enormous water damage, and Wood Man is crushed to death by a falling bathtub.

You won't be getting your security deposit back.

WOOD MAN HAS BEEN KILLED.

WOAH HOLY FUCK! I mean... well. That might need to wait until morning for you to solve, but it looks like something has happened.

Someone apparently called the police. They've actually brought CSI, because the death was not on Block 7. A report will be ready in the morning for the Investigation into the Death of Wood Man. Night falls in an hour, and the water to the top floor has been turned off so no further damage occurs.

[Florien]

And the sun vanishes completely below the horizon. The terminator sweeps across the land. (Not the former governor of california's character, the one caused when the sun sets.) Darkness cloaks the city, the people return to their homes.

Day will return Thursday at 10:00 AM Pacific. (36ish Hours from now.) PM any and all night actions being done, and I'll get to them as soon as I am able.

An enormous explosion rocks the town, a long, rolling rumble that lasts for several seconds. Manhole covers are launched into the sky, jets of fire beneath spew out, scorching the pavement around. Night turns into day for a few brief minutes, before the darkness returns. Car alarms blare in the distance, and sirens scream... and there's a loud grinding noise as the construction site's structure collapses.

...Impressive. Well, I can see I'll have a busy time tomorrow dealing with... THAT.

Day rolls around, and with it, a new victim, and reports for Wood Man's death.

The Mystery of the Wooden Man.

Victim is Wood Man, a police consultant.

Victim was killed by massive blunt force trauma from a falling bathtub.

Victim died around 8:46 PM, DOA when the call was made.

CSI Report Attached.

CSI REPORT: Enormous water damage to the room directly above caused a cave-in. Towels found blocking the door upstairs in a makeshift attempt to prevent too much water leaking out. Water damage all down the stairs. Towels were taken from the bathroom. All faucets were on. Landlord says only residents can enter the apartment complex. Water damage destroyed most of the trace evidence.

Conclusion: The room above was flooded deliberately by one of the residents, in order to create a somewhat unreliable trap. The resident got lucky, and the trap killed someone, either their target or a random victim. This is a murder investigation.

Victim is Mathra-19-150-M, a police consultant.

Victim was killed by a sniper rifle shot to the chest. Post-mortem stab wound and buckshot wound to the chest.

Victim was killed at 2:30 AM or thereabouts.

No CSI Report. Again. (What the hell are you being paid for?)

This one seems to have been sniped... which seems to have been odd, given that a shotgun still went off, obviously fired by the killer.. it's rather confusing.
