in retrospect: ok I noticed that the background of the post editor during dark mode is solid black and I literally can't see the text without highlighting it, so I've used inspect element to make the background white for the time being (until I submit this post).
Just a thought that might need fixing?  Idea

edit: check the image to see what I mean by "all-black background"  Dusty Star
