back in the good old days of the internet, the craze was around RPG Maker games, more specifically of the horrific, surreal type. there was OFF, there was Ib, there was Yume Nikki, there was Space Funeral. and it was all great, but the craze kind of died down. still, a strong love for RPG Maker remained, as evidenced by sites such as rpgmaker.net which is pretty cool and you should totally check it out and not because i'm in that community and want to suck more people into the gammak.

then there was more cool n dandy games such as Yume 2kki, LISA,

JaTPMJimmy and the Pulsating Mass

, OneShot, OMORI, Hylics and more.

guess here's a good place to mention just how many fucking RPG Maker horror games I've played through this last week or so. Corpse Party and Misao are the ones in particular I haven't really been able to shut up about, but I've also gone through Ib, Mad Father, The Witch's House, Dreaming Mary, and new for me, Bevel's Painting.

I recommend all of them except maybe Bevel's Painting, that one's a bit too abstract and metaphorical for me, but special mention goes to Misao and Mad Father. Very specifically together, since they tie into each other really nicely.

Or maybe not because those two games are actually Wolf RPG, a completely different software.

Either way I've been partying like it's 2012 and pissing all my friends off with it.

It's been a hot minute since I touched RPG Maker. I should really get back to doing something with it. Only issue is, I'm turning my main RPGM project into a novel and vastly overhauling it, so I have no idea if I want to keep going with my game plans for it.

heather once said jojo's bizarre adventure the 7th stand user would probably be one of the more talked about rpg maker games on the market if it weren't for the fact that it's a fangame that for the most part is just an adaptation of the worst jojo part
