Hi everyone.
I have a wide selection of setups for this one, depending on how many players there are when signups end. More details on the setups when signups close.
I'll decide the setup when signups close. If you try to sign up after, you will be made a substitute in case someone needs to be replaced.
Signups close this time next week (on 28/01/2022 at 9:00 AM GMT sharp).

Current players:
  1. Cassie
  2. MadameButterflyKnife
  3. Whistle
  4. Florien
  5. Kennifer
  6. TenOfSwords13
  7. SmilyCube112

Erm, one question: Is this a ''murder''game?
Viking Duck is back from Valhalla, and ready to take all the loot. Also, still a friend to animals.

I'm confirming that this isn't a murdergame. To my knowledge, the main difference between murdergames and mafia games is that the former has roleplaying elements that the latter doesn't.

I haven't added you to the player list yet. Do you want to join?

Chosen Mafia: 7x Vanilla Townies, 2x Mafia Goons

Greater Idea and Greatest Idea are always available, but it could take a while to get a balanced setup.

War in the Palace
Nightless.
A given Heir wins if the opposing Heir and Anarchist are dead, or if only the opposing Heir is alive.
The Anarchist wins if both Heirs are dead or all Guards are dead.
The Guards only flip as "Guard" to hide their respective Heirs.

Carbon 14
At the start of the game, the scum faction is chosen between Mafia and Werewolves. Only the scum will know.

Love Letters Mafia
Each player draws a card at the start of the game from the following deck:
Princess x1: If you're forced to discard this card, you die.
Countess x1: If a night kill targets the King or a Prince, you die in their place.
King x1: Publicly reveal this card during the Day: swap hands with another player. Can only be used once a Day.
Prince x2: Target someone at Night: they must discard their current card and draw another. The user can self-target.
Handmaid x2: If targeted by a Day ability, you can publicly reveal this card during the Day to protect yourself. While this card is in your hand, you cannot be night-killed.
Baron x2: Target someone at Night: you kill them if they hold a Priest or Guard and die if they hold a Princess, Countess, King, Prince or Handmaid.
Priest x2: Publicly reveal this card during the Day: PM the host a name to look at their hand.
Guard x5: Publicly reveal this card during the Day: guess what card another player is holding. If you are correct, they discard that card and draw a new one. Each Guard can only be used once per game.

True Love
Nightless.
Lovers are arranged into 2 Town-Town pairs and 2 Town-Mafia pairs.

8 Ball
Before each day, the Mafia selects a player to be the "8-ball" for the Day. The identity of the 8-ball is not revealed.
The 8-ball does not have to be Town.
The Night phase is skipped unless the 8-ball was executed.

Squid
The Mafia has no factional kill.
If only the Mafia Roleblocker and the Vigilante or Serial Killer are alive, the Mafia win.
If only the Serial Killer and Vigilante are alive, the Serial Killer wins.

High Noon
One duel can take place per Day phase. After a duel has taken place, the Day continues as normal.
Initiate a duel by bolding "Duel (name)" in public.
While a duel is underway, only the duelling people can be voted for.

Noughts and Crosses Mafia
Each player is placed on a pubic board randomly. The Innocent Child is in the centre.
When a player is executed, a cross is placed on their square.
When a player is night-killed, a nought is placed on their square.
The Town can also win if there are 3 crosses in a row.
The Mafia can also win if there are 3 noughts in a row.

Divide and Conquer
At the start of the game, one Mafia Goon forms a Neighbourhood with two Townies, and the other Goon forms a Neighbourhood with the rest.

Chain of Command
At the start of the game, if the Captain is also a power role, there will only be two power roles in the game.
If none of the Captain, Commander or Lieutenant are Mafia, the Mafia can win by killing them all.
The Follower does not detect factional kills.
Rolecops are not informed of rank.
If the Captain gives an order to the Motivator, the Captain must also input a second command for the player being motivated.
No role can self-target.

Everyone is Being Watched
If the Watcher is roleblocked on a Night they use their action, their shot is replenished. No other role has shots replenished in a similar scenario.
All players must visit a player if not using a role's action. Your visit will be randomised if there is none given.
A given Mafia member cannot use their role and factional kill simultaneously.

Chosen Mafia
Town cannot abstain from execution.
At the start of the game, the Mafia vetos a Townie. That Townie cannot be one of the Chosen Townies.
After this, two Townies are made Chosen Townies without their knowledge. The Mafia knows who was Chosen.
If both Chosen Townies are alive, neither can be killed or endgamed. Town wins if only both Chosen Townies are alive, even if both Mafia members are alive.

Role Glossary
Anarchist: Has 2 public kills, but loses one for each Heir that dies.
Bodyguard: Visits someone at Night, taking any kills aimed at their target.
Captain (Rank): Knows what all the power roles in the game are, but not who they are. Gives them orders every Night, which the power roles can obey or disobey. If a power role is not given an order or disobeys the one they were given, they idle.
Commander (Rank): If the Captain dies, you become the new Captain.
Cop: Investigates a player at Night; learns if their target is part of the Mafia or not.
CPR Doctor: Visits a player at Night, protecting them from being killed. However, kills the target if the target is not targeted for a kill at Night instead.
Doctor: Visits someone at Night, protecting them from being killed.
Ensign (Rank): No effect.
Global: Your action targets all living players.
Godfather: Cops will get "innocent" results when investigating you.
Governor (Twilight): Between the end of the Day and the start of the Night ("twilight"), you can choose to save whoever was going to be executed at the end of the Day and instead execute a player of your choice. You cannot do this for your own execution.
Guard (WTTP): If your Heir dies, you will also die.
Heir: Has 1 kill; this is public if the other Heir is still alive, but private if not.
Innocent Child (Automatic): You are publicly confirmed to be Town-aligned at the start of Day 1.
Insane: Your results will be the opposite of what they should be.
Jailkeeper: Visits someone at Night, protecting them and preventing them using their actions.
Lieutenant (Rank): If the Captain and Commander are dead, you become the new Captain.
Lover: If any player you are Lovers with dies, you will also die, and vice versa. You can talk to those you are Lovers with at Night.
Mafia Goon: A Mafia-aligned player with no additional abilities.
Motivator: Visits someone at Night; if this player is a power role, allows them to use a second action.
Naive: You will only get "innocent" results. When applied to a Doctor, instead makes their healing ability ineffective.
Neighbour: You can talk to those you are Neighbours with at Night. There is no guarantee of their alignment.
Nurse: You will replace the first Doctor that dies.
Paranoid: You will only get "guilty" results. When applied to a Doctor, instead roleblocks the target as well as protecting them; becomes a renamed Jailkeeper that is treated as a Doctor. Not to be confused with the Paranoid Gun Owner.
Paranoid Gun Owner (Automatic): On a Night when anyone visits you, you will kill everyone who visits you.
Paranoid Gun Owner (Manual): On a Night when you arm yourself, you will kill everyone who visits you. Shots will be consumed even if no-one visits you.
Poisoner: Visits a player at Night, poisoning them. They are notified and die at the end of the following Night unless cured by a Doctor.
Quack: A renamed Vigilante, except that it's also treated as a Doctor.
Roleblocker: Visits a player at night, prevents them using their actions.
Rolecop: Investigates someone at Night, learning their exact role.
Sane: Your role works as usual.
Seer: Investigates a player at Night; learns if their target is a Werewolf or not.
Stalker: Investigates someone at Night, learning what actions were performed on them, but not who performed them.
Supersaint: If you are hammered, the person hammering you dies as well. This is taken into account before a possible faction win.
Tracker: Investigates a player at Night; learns who their target visited.
Vanilla Townie: A Town-aligned player with no additional abilities.
Vigilante: Visits a player at Night, killing them.
Weak: If you target a non-Town player, you die.
X-Shot: You can only use this ability X time(s).

Alignment Glossary
Anarchist: Wins if all Heirs are dead or if all Guards are dead.
Heir: Wins if the Anarchist and the opposing Heir are dead, or everyone except for both Heirs are dead.
Mafia: Wins if at least half of the living players are Mafia-aligned. Has factional communication and a nightly factional kill.
Serial Killer: Wins if they're the only player alive. Has a "factional" kill.
Town: Wins if all threats to the Town are dead and at least one Town-aligned player is still alive.
Werewolf: Wins if at least half of the living players are Werewolf-aligned. Has factional communication and a nightly factional kill.

Well, the three I like the most (and thus, have my vote - with accompanying reasons) are:
  1. Greater Idea (BRING ON THE CHAOS!!!)
  2. High Noon (As Jotaro/McCree said, "It's High Noon".)
  3. War in the Palace (I wonder what's for DINNER?)
Viking Duck is back from Valhalla, and ready to take all the loot. Also, still a friend to animals.

Tallying setup votes for reference.
  • Greater Idea: 2
  • 8-Ball: 1+2/3
  • Carbon-14: 1
  • High Noon: 2/3
  • Chosen Mafia: 1/3
  • War in the Palace: 1/3
I listed fractional votes to mean "this wasn't first in someone's preference list".

Ok, thanks for letting me know.

I'll see if we can get a good setup for Greater Idea first.
If it takes too long, I'll do something else depending on how many players there are when sign-ups close. Speaking of which...

Final call for any new sign-ups!

Sign-ups close in less than 24 hours. Anyone who wants to join after that will only be able to substitute in for someone else.

Wild Card

You draw two at random and pick one. The other is discarded. At the start of the game, the list of discarded roles is made public. You do not know the actual role list of the setup, only the list of possible roles.

Some of them have been renamed. Here's a list of the more drastic renames:
(X) Miller: Suspicious X
Nymphomaniac: Compulsive Night 1 Loveriser
Mafia Strongman: Strong Mafia Goon
Condemner: Executioner

The Retired Werewolf Hunter was adjusted and is not simply a named Townie. Instead, it is immune to Werewolf kills.

Do not publicly discuss your role in any way until the setup is declared balanced and the game truly begins.
