Kirby then looks at everyone else.
"By the way, hiii! My name's Kirby, poyo!"
Hiiii!
Flying cats... finally, a normal problem!

1: Purchase a tin of tuna from a shop. Cats love fish! Have a wander around with the tin open, and sooner or later that cat will approach us!

2: Seeing as telekinesis and levitation will prevent any viable method of containment, how about I stop it from wanting to leave? Give it a cardboard box or two, a comfy bed, and, most importantly, love and friendship!

3: Offer to trade it any number of cat treats, cat toys, and catnip (if I can find any) for the book.
hey who turned out the lights?
Jimothy has rolled a 1 on the first task, a 9 on the second, and a 6 on the third, for a total of 16 points.

The tuna as a method of luring out the cat fails spectacularly this time. It's nowhere to be found. Wrong brand, maybe? Picky cat.

The box and bed works much better as a way to lure the cat out and keep it there. It fits, it sits, it comfy! Jimothy pets the cat. There are purrs!

Does the cat understand the concept of a trade? Either way, when it gets a good whiff of catnip, it's distracted enough for Jimothy to get the book.

Kirby then introduces himself to Booker, Mavis, and Ed

"Hiii! My name's Kirby! Who are you?"
Hiiii!
Um, hi. I'm Booker.

Call me Ed. I own this place. ...You did want a room, right? Because I have an opening.

"Hi, I'm Mavis!" She grins at Kirby, finding him cute.
Stupid doomed timeline...
"Hi, Mavis! Hi, Booker!" Kirby said. "What kind of place is this, poyo?"
Hiiii!
This building? A museum. And the rest is, um, a place for vacationers to come and have their, ah, vacation. Hike, boat...

Pay to sleep in the cabins! Get trinkets at the museum gift shop!

"Yeah, perhaps i need a room to sleep here!"

Kirby looks around.

"This place is nice..."
Hiiii!
Ed looks at the pink puffball. "Well, you're in luck, kid. Cabin just opened up.
As long as you can pay for the rest of the trip(we're just assuming it's paid don't worry)
, it's yours.

He has Booker and Mavis show Kirby to the cabin that Gooble was staying in.
Stupid doomed timeline...
"Oh, boy! Is there something to eat here?"

Silly Kitty! Featuring Bunyan and Babe
1. First, just locate the cat. It's... kinda disappeared.
Bunyan and Babe track down the cat's footsteps, with the latter attempting to sniff the cat's scent. It might take a while but hopefully they'll be able to find the cat through its footsteps and smell.
2. Contain the cat. Remember the levitation and telekinesis!
Bunyan grows 10 feet tall and tightly cradles the cat in her arms like a baby. She's being careful to not hurt the kitty.
3. Get the guest book away from the cat safely. It's kinda defensive and guarding it.
"Babe, can you get the book far away from the kitty please?"
Babe carries the guest book in his mouth and runs as fast as possible away from Bunyan and the cat. He eventually runs to the forest by the other side of town.

Zee can handle cats.
Zee can handle levitating cats.
But levitating, telekinetic cats?
Oh, nonononono.

照猫画虎Zhào Māo Huà Hǔ
// Using a Cat as a Model For a Drawing of a Tiger
1) "Surely a floating alien cat wouldn't be hard to find in this...
灰不溜丢huībùlīudīu - boring, dull, grey, etc. etc.
... town. Right?
"
Zee stand there thinking for a while, before they decide to not waste time and run around town in search of the cat, all the while performing calculations on their holographic displays in an attempt to rationalise the situation.

2) Zee chirp in an attempt to catch the cat's attention.
Chchch!
喵… 喵…Miāo…miāo… - Meow… meow…

They're crouched down, one claw outstretched, the other resting on a familiar-looking shopping basket. Except, Zee being Zee, they've made some modifications to it, and it now has a lid with one of those 4-digit combination locks on it.
If the chirping wasn't enough, they've gotten some trears and catnip to really entice the little kitty.
Once it's safely inside, they shut the lid, automatically locking it.
Heh.

Get the guest book away from the cat safely. It's kinda defensive and guarding it.
3) A realisation hits Zee.
They glance down to find Grunkle Ed's guestbook in the cat's clutches.
Well, now we find that… how d'you say it…
进退两难jìntuìliǎngnán - to move forward and to step back are both hard, i.e. to be caught in a dilemma
.

If they open the basket, they risk letting the cat loose. But if they leave it in there, they won't be able to get the guestbook back.
In the end, after several calculations, they decide to take the risk and open the basket, but not before going back to the check-in to do so. At least if the cat escapes, the twins would be able to handle it. Mavis seems especially competent, they figure.

and here's my character list!
Bunyan and Babe roll 6+1 on the first task for Babe's animal sense of smell, 5+2 on the second task for size changing and strength, and a 2 on the third task. This gives them a total of 16 points.

Getting Babe to sniff out the cat's scent works pretty well. As anticipated, it's not fast, but it does work.

Once the cat is located, Bunyan can indeed grow as tall as needed and cradle the kitty to contain it. She might get a cat scratch or two when it struggles, but I'm sure a wilderness girl like Bunyan is used to scratches.

Getting Babe to carry the guest book away doesn't work very well, though. The cat is still guarding it, and the struggle between Babe and the cat over the guest book causes it to rip to shreds. Oof.

Zee rolls an 8 on the first task, a 2 on the second task, and a 4 on the third task, for a total of 14 points

The cat has camouflaged, but with all Zee's running around, they... run into the cat. Huh. Well, that was lucky. (...No, not Lucky the cat. The cat is not Lucky. We don't think, anyway.)

You would think the kitty would want to hop into the cozy basket with treats and catnip, wouldn't you? But apparently Zee bumping into it unexpectedly made it want to run away. (And drop the camouflage for now, but, hey...) Zee chases it all the way back to the camp's check-in.

Getting some help to corner the cat from Booker and Mavis at the check-in, they eventually do get the guest book away from the cat, but not without a struggle that leaves some of the book shredded.

"I'm a bit hungry..."

Wow, you're in luck, the diner's got an all you can eat buffet up today that should be able to sate even a Kirby-sized appetite.

Plenty of burgers, but you'll have to wait and see if they put out more shortcake and juice.
Stupid doomed timeline...
Kirby then starts eating his burger.

it's kity time :3
First, just locate the cat. It's... kinda disappeared.
Maple calls on lots of flying bugs to search the area for this warm fuzzy floating beast. (They mostly don't know what a "cat" is, but they can figure out adjectives. Sometimes.) Of course he'll look out himself, too.

Contain the cat. Remember the levitation and telekinesis!
Cats like chasing bugs, right? Thankfully they're not smart enough to "care" about their own survival, so by getting the most bright and colorful bugs to serve as a distraction, Maple can hopefully keep the kitty occupied until, with help from the staff, he can build a proper enclosure for it. Of course the bugs should try not to get killed, but bugs don't tend to live very long anyway, right?

Get the guest book away from the cat safely. It's kinda defensive and guarding it.
The solution here is to give the cat something else it wants instead. Maple will see about catching a nice fishy treat for the purrbaby and drawing it away from the book with the promise of nomnomnomnoms.

The bugs have a bit of trouble figuring out adjectives and definitely don't know what a cat is. They lead you to some other fuzzy beasts like a raccoon and a squirrel before you eventually find the cat. (Rolled 2 +1 for bug use for a total of 3.)

Ooops, the cat is having a little too much fun chasing (and killing and eating) the bugs to want to be caught, and the staff seems preoccupied at the moment. Eventually though, it tires itself out chasing the bugs and falls asleep mid-air and you just kind of grab it. (Rolled 2 +1 for bugs for a total of 3.)

You're having a bit of trouble actually catching a fish, and by the time you get the fish to the cat it has torn several pages out of the guestbook and loafed on top of them. (Rolled 3.)

Maple has scored a total of 9 points.

  1. If it's levitating, it will likely be on the ceiling. If it's not in a closed room, then it's probably bamboozled. Might need binoculars or even a telescope to see it at that point.
  2. Find a long enough lasso and tie it to someplace close to the ground, such as a tree or a chair. Then get another couple of lassos for security. Then make sure to lasso the secure ground objects just in case it thinks it's hard to do. If that doesn't work, spin around with a laser pointer to make the cat dizzy. If you don't get dizzy yourself.
  3. I'll sneak it in my backpack while it's distracted by a laser pointer. Or something else. Then it should be distracted enough to not know it's missing for a while.
You know where you are? You're in the jungle baby.

Good thinking! The cat is in fact on the ceiling in the check-in cabin. You spot it pretty easily. (Rolled 9 +1 for making connections for a total of 10.)

You easily lasso the cat and secure it to the check-in desk. The cat seems confused but unhurt. (Rolled 9 +1 for quick thinking for a total of 10.)

The cat doesn't put up too much of a struggle and you manage to get it into your backpack long enough to rescue the guestbook and return it to Grunkle Ed. (Rolled 7.)

Jake has scored a total of 27 points.
