comments on the 18th Creepy! So is this the Count himself? Does he have some kind of ability to teleport between his grave dirts? Or perhaps this is an undead servant of some kind... on the 19th Renfield's creepiness intensifies! Please don't eat a cat.

He swallowed the sparrow to catch the spider, he swallowed the spider to catch the fly, I don't know why he swallowed that fly, perhaps he'll die.
No idea whether he does die, so the perhaps is the operative word here. I am the They who says it!

July 20
title So he is in fact building a pyramid of consumption. Gross. >How well the man reasoned; lunatics always do within their own scope. That's... sure a thing to say right after all that discussion of unethical science.

We accidentally missed the last few days oopsie
July 28: Four days in hell July 29: Another tragedy July 30: Last night of the voyage titleIt turns out they're all fairly short entries. Is Dracula eating the crew? Don't do that, Dracula, you need them alive to get to your destination!

I like how the captain says in the first entry "everyone's miserable and half my crew are missing-presumed-dead. Also my surviving crew are russian and my first mate romanian wow isn't this fascinating"
Also the old aggressively northern guy complaining about headstones is great. He shouldn't have walked it back with all that "oh no I was just making light of death because uhh I'll die soon probably I'm old, I definitely didn't really mean to loudly complain about how dumb headstones are for people who die at sea and never get recovered and all the dumb shit people write on them they're not the dumbest and stupidest thing ever and I don't think that they're the worst oh look changing the subject now look there's a weird boat, guess I'll die now" I am the They who says it!

Some catch up.
August 8: An extensive weather report titleMost of this is just a lengthy and elaborate description of a storm. The description just keeps going on and on... much like a storm with no end in sight. >the very instant the shore was touched, an immense dog sprang up on deck from below o.O Can Dracula be a dog? Or is this some other kind of dog? Though it's running toward the church, so that doesn't feel Draculish... Oh, and the guy from the 6th... he's dead, still tied to the wheel. And Lucy's sleepwalking some more. August 9: The dog remains a local hero title... lmao that dog is totally dracula There's four more but we got distracted; they'll come later

August 10: In which someone kicks a dog
titleQuote:Poor Lucy seemed much upset. She was restless and uneasy all the time, and I cannot but think that her dreaming at night is telling on her. She is quite odd in one thing: she will not admit to me that there is any cause for restlessness; or if there be, she does not understand it herself.Dracula powers, dracula powers!! Quote:poor old Mr. Swales was found dead this morning on our seat, his neck being broken Quote:there was a look of fear and horror on his face that the men said made them shudderDracula attack, dracula attack! Quote:>a whole bunch about the dogHm, maybe it's not Dracula, just being controlled by it? That behavior is bizarre but doesn't match Drac himself. Quote:Oh, but I am tired! If it were not that I had made my diary a duty I should not open it to-night.Me when it's 2 am and I still haven't worked on writing yet. Quote:Some of the "New Women" writers will some day start an idea that men and women should be allowed to see each other asleep before proposing or accepting. But I suppose the New Woman won't condescend in future to accept; she will do the proposing herself.*insert jab at youtube anti-feminist grifters here* Things are really starting to get intriguing, huh? the joke is that after i fell out of updating this thread i decided to come back with the next entry but in a later year. i had this idea last year but right after this update so i've been holding on to this joke this whole time

Would've been funnier if I hadn't immediately missed the next few days, but this is what happens when the ADHD meds aren't working out, I think. Anyway August 11, 12, 13, 14.
titleOh noooo Lucy is sleepwalking and breathing raggedly, it's the dracula at work probably Quote:I daubed my feet with mud, using each foot in turn on the other, so that as we went home, no one, in case we should meet any one, should notice my bare feet.Odd! Quote:I was sorry to notice that my clumsiness with the safety-pin hurt her. Indeed, it might have been serious, for the skin of her throat was pierced. I must have pinched up a piece of loose skin and have transfixed it, for there are two little red points like pin-pricks, and on the band of her nightdress was a drop of blood.I don't think that was the safety pin....... Quote:I shall lock the door and secure the key the same as before, though I do not expect any trouble to-night.Oh, yeah, no chance of any future trouble - Quote:My expectations were wrong, for twice during the night I was wakened by Lucy trying to get out. She seemed, even in her sleep, to be a little impatient at finding the door shut, and went back to bed under a sort of protest.Oh no, our expectations! Quote:All her old gaiety of manner seemed to have come back, and she came and snuggled in beside me and told me all about Arthur.i ship it Quote:I write by desire of Mr. Jonathan Harker, who is himself not strong enough to write, though progressing well, thanks to God and St. Joseph and Ste. Mary.Oh no! Our good friend is in bad shape! Quote:Between me and the moonlight flitted a great bat, coming and going in great whirling circles. Once or twice it came quite close, but was, I suppose, frightened at seeing me, and flitted away across the harbour towards the abbey.Very normal bat, I'm sure. Quote:"His red eyes again! They are just the same." It was such an odd expression, coming apropos of nothing, that it quite startled me.Which surely means nothing. Quote:There distinctly was Lucy with her head lying up against the side of the window-sill and her eyes shut. She was fast asleep, and by her, seated on the window-sill, was something that looked like a good-sized bird.Whoa! A bird! Definitely an avian and not a mammal. Quote:she was holding her hand to her throat, as though to protect it from cold.Which surely means nothing.
