In all fairness to whoever created Lady Stilt-Man, she was intended to be a joke from the start. Poor old OG Stilt-Man had the misfortune of being presented seriously, and then becoming a joke because c'mon, Stilt-Man? Strange, isn't it? Each man's life touches so many other lives. When he isn't around he leaves an awful hole, doesn't he?

So I just learned that The punisher killed Stilt Man, but before that he shot a rocket launcher at Stilts crotch.
Comics are weird. And funny.
I can't think of anything clever.

OG stilt-man is amazing though, he's capitalizing on a whole untapped crime market! Low flying aircraft, helicopters, and rooftop parties!
He should be taken seriously! His super weapons are normal grenades and guns! Because those are the weapons of a REAL criminal! I am the They who says it!

Stilt Man died as he lived, a joke.
I can't think of anything clever.

I choose to interpret that scene as the Marvel writers putting on their big boy pants and pretending they're all grown-up now (the Punisher), and therefore deciding to put all of the Silver-Age fun and wackiness (Stilt-Man) behind them. DAMN YOU MARVEL AND YOUR BIG BOY PANTS!!! Strange, isn't it? Each man's life touches so many other lives. When he isn't around he leaves an awful hole, doesn't he?

Understandable - while Marvel comics are just the right balance of faux-realistic and fun, DC comics at their best tend to be more lighthearted and idealistic than Marvel. Partly because DC has Superman, a character so emblematically good that even dark-and-edgy comics writers like Warren Ellis and Mark Millar love him. Strange, isn't it? Each man's life touches so many other lives. When he isn't around he leaves an awful hole, doesn't he?
