Maybe, but if it fits narratively, a cliche isn't necessarily bad. If you subvert or avert every cliche all the time, that, in and of itself, can be a cliche.

yeah i just don't know if it would be good trans representation or not for eco to do that

i mean like liz gets put into a coma or something and i don't know how she manages to get out of it

heck i don't even know where to mention that she's trans or if i should just leave it as subtext

i mean the theme is about living your true self, and i wonder if eco really needed to become king
