[Fin] Murder in the Mountains 2: Everyone heads off to a beach somewhere (END)
Marie and Louis return from the gym.
"We didn't find anything in the gym! Did anyone else find something?"

Samantha nods. Yeah... nothing in the gym.

Overlynd looks very serious in the general direction of the envelopes.

Destruction of mail is a federal offence.

Whoever did this will pay tenfold in fines and blood both.
I am the They who says it!
Yuuta, after finding nothing of interest, replies.

"Yes, nothing interesting's in the gym."

He then speeds up to where Nico and Felicia are.

"Could that be a clue, i wonder?"
Hiiii!
Marie and Louis head over to the kitchen where the others are.
"Overlyn, do you happen to recognize these letters?"
Alt of Cutegirl920fire Dusty Star
I recognize every letter that should have or has been delivered. I have not checked these, and they do not contain letters, most likely. But whoever destroys an envelope before its time deserves whatever horrifying tortures can befall them in the foulest pits of privatized postal services. It is irrelevant, and I shall not debase myself or incite myself to vomit by gazing upon such a horrifying sight as has been placed before me.

But I'm sure whoever thought to do this failed to realize that which I tell people again and again. You cannot, shall not, and never will even come close to stopping me from completing my appointed rounds.

Overlynd pauses for dramatic effect.

There are three people it could be. One of them is the last killer we need to deal with. Either Cass, Diluc, or Felicia never lodged a roleclaim with Nico. It is one of them. I doubt Alex did either, Tyson did, however, and they are both confirmed as masons, though absent, by virtue of the count and Tyson's word. There were two killers who got caught right out of the gate. There is no way to coordinate a mason claim beforehand.

In the case of Cass, there are three possible scenarios. Cass, by all logic, should have died last night, but did not. Therefore, the three scenarios are as follows. One. Cass was jailed. I know who the jailer is. If they wish to tell me whether or not they jailed Cass last night, they should. Two. Cass is the one-shot bulletproof. I consider this unlikely. The killers have a safe-claim, and likely used it the first chance they got, and Bulletproof is the more likely safe-claim than the stalker, because the stalker helped to condemn by their parity one of the team. Three, Cass is the Wannabe, and got turned last night by my coordinated plan with the shapeshifter to catch the last enemies of life and a functional postal service.

Unless someone can come up with a compelling reason as to do otherwise...

/Vote Cass.
I am the They who says it!
I'm not saying you're wrong, Oberlynd. But I would like to see if anyone else has any insights before I cast my ballot.

...Not to mention, see whether the letters themselves can provide any insight.

> Take a look at the letters. Can you tell what they say? Anything else about them that can help you understand what happened?

> Take a look at the letters too.
Hiiii!
"I did confirm my role, actually, you can ask Nico. Not last night, but the night before. I just didn't confirm my specific plans, but they worked perfectly anyway."

Felicia is trying to keep Pippin away from the burnt things, since he looks like he wants to use Bubble Beam on it or something.
Stupid doomed timeline...
Nico listens to everyone who speaks to him. Looks like Cass was on the chopping block now. "Yeah. Felicia told me." Then he thought about the plan he was given. How closely was it followed last night?
If you hear about someone putting characters through intense despair and misery, then that someone is probably me.
Marie and Louis whisper to each other then they face Overlyn.
"Overlyn, since it seems you recognized these letters, it's a bit odd they showed up outside of your room. It feels like very out of character, which brings up two possiblites. You were the remaining Cultist and in the heat of the moment during the attempted kill , ended up leaving some of your letters or the last Cultist framed you for the attempted kill. Now that you brought up some interesting points about Cass, my husband and I would have to figure out who is more likely to be the last Cultist - you or Cass."
Alt of Cutegirl920fire Dusty Star
"Hmmm..." Yuuta remarked on Marie's suggestion.
Hiiii!
It quite literally makes no sense for it to be me, of course, being behind an idea that picked two cultists off instantly without personally discovering everyone's role. Every killer has been interested in stopping me, and there have been no deaths the past two nights.

Because they were targeting me.

The two-shot commuter.

Who cannot be stopped, nor redirected onto, nor even targeted when I'm doing the rounds. And I've been doing the rounds.
I am the They who says it!
"I think we should hear what Cass has to say..."

"Suzume then chirps.
Hiiii!
>turn off the oven and see if there's anything of interest to the envelopes (@Kennifer)
Oven safely deactivated, and the envelopes look like a random assortment of letters, with a wide assortment of sources and destinations.

> Take a look at the letters. Can you tell what they say? Anything else about them that can help you understand what happened? (@PointMaid, @Oggy123)
Well they're still sealed, and opening them will likely piss Overlynd off, unless one of them happens to be addressed to Samantha or Yuuta or Suzume. Which doesn't seem to be the case.

If one is okay with pissing off Overlynd, there'd be nothing much to stop them opening a letter.
nya
Open those and you're under arrest, and you're going to court the moment you get out of here. The postal service has law enforcement jurisdiction under many circumstances. Now, whoever stole them and put them there committed a crime too, and if we weren't going to have them killed anyway, they would also go down for tampering with the mail.
I am the They who says it!
...Right, right. They're sealed. Unlikely for their contents to be helpful as evidence, then.

But yes, the fact that what Overlynd had been doing would appear nonsensical if she were trying to kill everybody is why I confided in her yesterday.

Samantha sighs. I'm the Survivor Shapeshifter. You may as well have guessed by now. Don't... we all know by know the killers are on shaky ground even if I'd wanted to ally with them. I'd gone after Liz the previous night, and we all know that she was a Dualgunner now. Overlynd convinced me to visit Cass last night, which is why we think she should be dead unless something happened. Including her being a Wannabe and my visit unfortunately turning her.

"Overlynd was really eager to vote for both Yoshiko and Liz, and they turned out to be cultists. I'd think there'd be more false accusations if Overlynd had been on their side."

"Though that's weird, with the envelopes and everything, like someone tried to burn the mail bag? Why though? To piss Overlynd off? As a weird framing attempt of somebody who doesn't seem guilty at all?"
Stupid doomed timeline...
"These are fair points then... Well, I suppose we can vote for Cass."
/Vote Cass
Alt of Cutegirl920fire Dusty Star
"Well, if Cass is flipped to the cultists, we should get rid of her either way, right?"
If you hear about someone putting characters through intense despair and misery, then that someone is probably me.
Giroro was awake as usual. Apologies for my recent dereliction, I've got college work to do so I maybe be less active from today :(

Once more, they didn't eliminate a single target... it certainly seems we should take this as the Wannabe's turn, whether or not that may actually be the case. What exactly lead you to take Cass as your target, though? Or perhaps was it simply a wild shot?

He turns towards Overlynd.

I don't entirely believe what you're saying, here, and I question your accusation. Hmmph, like my vote even matters here. This isn't something everyone can agree with.

He turns back.

Isn't it strange the one who's making the plans won't convince us publicly that he's on your side? How can I trust any of you if you leave any evidence out of it? I'm no good for any recon, but maybe you should think for yourselves before blindly following his plans. I'd like to hear what Cass has to say on the matter of this "plan" that's supposedly pushing him to trial. But until then? We should check the evidence anyway. After all, what's to guarantee this postal worker isn't taking his job too far?

Ignore all this if you want. Just don't consider me your ally just yet.
"You're saying Overlynd burned his own letters to throw us off?" Nico floated towards Giroro. "But what about you? You're the only one who claimed to be a Townie."
If you hear about someone putting characters through intense despair and misery, then that someone is probably me.
"You really think Overlynd would betray both teammates immediately though? I thought the cultists wanted to get rid of the innocent people, not each other."

Felicia shakes her head a bit, trying to think.

"I still want to hear from Cass about what she was doing last night, even if I can't confirm if it's true or not like with Liz the night before."
Stupid doomed timeline...
"Well, Samantha, you said someone might've interrupted you on your visit to Cassie, right? That's how she isn't dead."
If you hear about someone putting characters through intense despair and misery, then that someone is probably me.
Samantha nods. If there was someone who could interfere with what I was doing and did so, it would explain it, yes.

I agree with Felicia that it would be... distinctly odd if Overlynd's behavior was that of one of the killers. I went after Cass because Overlynd already had suspicions that they could be the last killer. And Nico didn't contradict her.

I would also like to hear what Cass has to say, if anything, before voting, though.
