Frankie coughs, briefly. ...Careful with that stuff. But you did it! Clever employees. I knew I was right to choose you! Victoria was trying to get me to sign over the lease to the island...

She... hugs the minions, X, and the rest of them in the balloon? Yes, actually. She does.

Tina pulls her T-shirt over her nose and mouth to try and not inhale pesticide.

WE NEED TO FIRE NOW!

THE ARTILLERY IS HERE, WE NEED TO FIRE IT NOW!

The Cloneland's warnings through the megaphones are made all the more pointed by the view through the smoke of the enormous howitzer that's been carted in, and is now pointed at the camp.

[And while the balloon retreats further and further away from Victoria's camp, X hugs Dr. Frankie right back! Because why not? He just got here, he's gonna need the wholesome moment to counterbalance any angst he'll encounter later down the road.]

The Underequipped HIGHLY MODERN army has suffered a lot of casualties and is being forced to retreat. The carted-in howitzer then fires. The explosion blasts apart a good chunk of Victoria's landing force's camp, and fires tear through the region.

HOPE THAT DIDN'T HIT ANY OF OURS!

Air Horse One then begins to ride away rapidly, the Army's role in the confrontation complete, and heavy damage inflicted to the mercenary force.

[Once they've reached a far enough away point, X lands the balloon on the ground and hops out of the basket.] "Woooooooooo!! That was fun! Are we gonna be doing stuff like that every day?! Without a hostage situation?!"

With the mercenaries heavily damaged, Eyja and the two people with her are able to escape relatively smoothly. In addition, Eyja's covering against the bees are still mostly intact, so with a little use of her Arts, she creates heat to ward the bees away from herself, Kirby and Ribbon. She also opens a honey jar she's been carrying as distraction since the rescue, and throws the entire bottle and content into the ground.

Eventually, the baloon lands, Air Horse One retreats, the people on foot follow, and they all find their way back to base camp.

Frankie takes a look at the insecticide sprayers. Surely she never authorized...

...These are expired chemicals. The sprayers are from the 1800's, I'm sure of it. You should check yourselves for stings.

"Nice going!"
They later arrive at base camp. They hear Frankie's order.
"Oh, okay! We're not stung, are we?"
"Well.... i think we should make sure."

"...well, shit." [For once, X's infectious energy falters. Apparently he's not taking too kindly to the revelation that almost everyone in the balloon, save for himself and Iceberg, got stung.]

Oh good, we got clear.

Alright.

Thankfully, our three other suspects from earlier are among the stung.

So that will make our lives easier.

The Clonelands take the time to relax after creating an environmental catastrophe of a lead-poisoned warzone by heading to the cabins, and start

Eyja also arrives at the base camp. After hearing Frankie's revelation and who got stung, Eyja also tries to make sure as she takes off her protective gears. She then checks her skin for sting marks, and feels none, so she says, "Phew... I didn't get stung..."

"I hope you won't get infected... I don't want to see more pointless bloodshed..." Eyja says to those who got stung.

...They manage to put a large wooden beam across the doors.

"But Kirby, we still probably have zombies among us!"
"Don't worry, Ribbon! I... won't let them make a meal out of us!"
Kirby then looks at the sky, thinking about Popstar.

[X gives a wary look to the Clonelands as they leave for their cabins, then turns to the stung, focusing on the Minions and Ram & Rom.] "W-well! I may've only known you guys for less than a day so far! But if any of you go zombie...! Leave me alone, alright?! You guys all seem nice! Especially you four! Stuart, Bob, Ram, Rom! You guys helped me and Iceberg out a lot! Thanks for that! If you guys turn into zombies, then...! Well...! Hopefully your sacrifice won't be in vain! Because we got Dr. Frankie back! That was the whole point of this, right?! ...Well! Goodnight, everyone! Thanks for a...! A fun first day on the job!"

[And with that, he >goes to the cabin vacated by the person he replaced and locks the door.]

With that, Eyja decides to find a safe place to spend the night too. Before that, she says, "Thanks X... All of you're also pleasant to work with... Like my colleagues at Rhodes Island."

"And I hope my time here will be useful for Rhodes Island... There should be some clues in the zombie virus that'll help the fight against Oripathy... They need scholars like me to research that..."
