Check that construction site for stuff [?]: Well, there's various ill-guarded tools and construction equipment, a foreman glaring at you for just walking in without permission but not really doing anything about it because you're wearing a helmet, and a large pit containing multiple layers of concrete which has a home-made sign next to it saying "THIS IS NOT A BODY DUMPING SITE, GO HOME."

Get back to smelling. [?] You manage to regain your sense of smell! To what extent, however, you can't exactly tell yet.

B-Sha takes the Zenny. "Oh, thanks! Hm, this currency... I think C-Sha knows something about this?"

Figure out from WHENCE THE ROPE HAILS [6]: That's a bit tricky, since there isn't actually a rope on the scene right now, just the evidence that one was used. But you mentally narrow down the places there might be ropes to the pawnshop, the construction site, the grocery store, the office, the warehouses, and maybe the arms dealers.

Inspect the stuff! [?]: It's an active construction site. The stuff sees constant use, and if anything's missing, it might just be with some of the workers.

The Warehouse! [?]: The guard has changed back again to the long-red-haired guard, who's apparently sleeping again outside the Strickland warehouse. Their chair is blocking the door in, and the loading doors only open from the inside though. The chemical supply warehouse is now unguarded and unlocked, but nothing seems out of place there.

[Mr. Lee Hammer]

> Ask around the construction site if anyone here has any idea about what happened with Victim #19

[Florien]

Ask around about #19 at the construction site! [8]: As far as they know, "Will Bates" was killed by "that serial killer" after going out to "that bar in the catkin" and "why, you a cop?"

Search the pawn shop! [1]: Sir, I don't know if you have a warrant to go in my storage, but if you don't, I expect you to leave promptly. If you don't, I have the tools to make you leave!

[Mr. Lee Hammer]

Maybe I am, maybe I'm not. I'm just a guy trying to redeem himself. Thank you, gentlemen.

Evil Jay Leno heads off and

Ask questions in the bar. [1]: You going to buy something, funnyman, or you just going to ask questions and annoy the paying customers?

That didn't quite work, he thinks to himself. But maybe if he has a drink, he can have an easier time asking questions.

[7]: You buy an inexpensive, yet respectable sounding drink. The bartender, at least, looks more amiable to you "annoying the paying customers" now.

Scott, who's totally been here since the day started and totally didn't just arrived because OP slept in, simply waves at Evil Jay Leno before > investigating the 7th Block.

[2]: You find out that the 7th block is in the south-west corner of the nine blocks. Exciting information, right?

[Florien]

[10]: You investigate the body of the city sewer worker thoroughly. You manage to figure out time of death, you manage to figure out his full name, his job, and even what the cause of death was! You manage to figure out all the information that... is already public knowledge.

Well, I'm disappointed in all of you so far. You miss the killer by less than an hour, and still they somehow have time to get away with you none the wiser as to their identity. At this rate, you should probably just start shooting at one another now. At least then some of you would graduate, if you didn't manage to miss every shot, as I'm sure all of you would with your track records as of yet. Now, I can't tell you what leads you have that you should pursue or what things more outside the box you could try, but as interesting as it is to watch you throw yourself against the problem like an ostrich against... anything, really, I would like SOME of you to graduate, and this brute force method clearly isn't working out for you. I would not like my best class to all fail into obscurity. After all, you WERE my best class before I stripped out all your skills on your request.

Investigate HARDER [7]: The scene is clean aside from the body. The victim was shot while lying on his back. The victim was presumably unconscious at the time.

Did you not hear what I just... I'll just keep this in mind when I'm grading you all.

Ask questions again! [6]: This time people at least talk. Apparently he came in with "I don't know, one of the regulars I guess, the guy, you know. Mustache, black hair? That guy, and I didn't see them leave so I guess they stayed late."

"Nobody's gonna shoot each other in broad daylight," Sariel mutters, sounding annoyed with The Spymaster.

While they wait for sunset and possible betrayals, they look into the backstory of this sewer guy and try to figure out why the killer might've targeted him.

[Florien]

Well, you could be subtle about it. That's what you were trained for. It's possible to do things under the cover of day, if you're clever enough. And there's ways other than direct attacks, which you'd remember if you'd taken my advice and not decided to do this.

Meanwhile, Sariel is trying to figure out stuff about the sewer worker. [?]: He was born in Tripford and lived there his whole life. It doesn't seem like he made many enemies, mostly he just worked underground. There is no clear reason for someone to target him, as far as you can tell.
