[Dangan] Free Association: Part One. Day 6: "Graduation Day"
>... huh, that took a turn. Should be fine to present this dude with pictures of the two cops and see if he recognises them, though, right?

Head to the chemical supply warehouse [3]: You manage to get inside, past the surly guard with the long hair (mostly because they're both asleep again and guarding the other warehouse.) However, you knock over a can of paint which obscures the hazard diamond for a couple of the barrels, and, knowing how volatile some things can be, you're a bit wary of what might be in those barrels now.

As Anaheim is about to make a terrible decision, the vague, staticky voice comes in over the earpiece.

Are you sure you want to do that? I'm already marking it against you on your exam papers, of course, but if you intend to do that, I expect you to live with the consequences of starting a hostage crisis. I don't have an extraction team waiting to save you if things go wrong.

Meanwhile, Scott throws the tacky gun at the warehouses. [5] It lands without injuring anyone, pissing anyone off, or causing a horrible disaster, a rare luxury in these times.

Meanwhile, Kaikoku shows the pictures of C-Co Meitner and JT Johnson to Romero. [8]

Uhh... the lady I've seen around, I think. Well, her name, anyway. Didn't know she was a lady. Always in that SWAT uniform or whatever it is. Seen her around the bar I go to. JT Johnson though, he stops by here sometimes. He's convinced we dump bodies here, which is of course, complete garbage. Paranoid guy. I think he drives the tank they have up at the police base.

Alright, back to investigation time. Guess it's time to > investigate the Catkin.

Shit... well, there'd better be something else in here...

>Anything else in the warehouse other than two (2) barrels of mystery?
hey who turned out the lights?
Well, that's the “unknown cop” identified, Kai supposes. But she doesn't seem terribly relevant to the investigation, given that the witness recognises both—sounds like a new approach is in order.

>Head back on over to the crime scene, that's been bugging you for a while, and see if there's a way you can find something out from its “cleaned” state. Wonder if there's anything that can help you pick up trace evidence here...
[Image: bb0ecb42111c57f72c68ae22416ffcb828b3ff47.gif]
Scott looks around the Catkin [9]: Scott figures out the pun of the name and is mildly amused. Also, he figures out that any evidence that was left by the CLK during last night's murder was cleaned up at some point. He also realizes that since CSI hasn't come out here since the first killing, that means that crime scene evidence would be unlikely to be processed anyway, since no one highly qualified would be coming here to look at it.

Investigate the warehouse further [6]: Well, it's a warehouse filled with all kinds of exciting chemicals. You recognize most of them from your chemistry career. It's mostly industrial solvents, cleaning solutions of varying strength, some miscellaneous poisonous substances, and a mysterious box with a hazard diamond with a "5" in the flammable slot, 0 in the toxicity and instability slots, and a W in the white slot, meaning "don't put water on it". That's weird, considering that the numbers only go up to 4.

Check out the cleaned spot. [10] It's impressively clean, like it was actively scrubbed. In fact, it's still a little damp. You slip on the smooth, wet pavement and sprain your wrist again.
I am the They who says it!
Hmm....

>Attempt to use one of the stronger cleaning solutions to remove paint from the barrels I spilled paint on
hey who turned out the lights?
>Try not to feel too much like lying in the dirt and letting the earth reclaim you at this development, then try investigating the scene again
[Image: bb0ecb42111c57f72c68ae22416ffcb828b3ff47.gif]
Clean that paint! [7]: You manage to not get yourself burned by the cleaning solution with your experience with industrial chemicals, and get the paint off without damaging the hazard diamonds beneath, revealing something unmarked labeled 1 2 4 OX. That is, it's mildly poisonous, quite flammable, dangerously explosive, and if it gets into something flammable, that thing will burn without oxygen. Whatever it is, it's dangerous.

Stand up and look again! [10]: WOO! You stand up to look at the incredibly, sparkling clean crime scene, when a bright reflection of light from one of the puddle temporarily blinds you, causing you to slip again, this time bruising your tailbone. Seko, who's still playing with the crime scene tape, can't avoid laughing.
I am the They who says it!
Damn. If that's the case . . Guess he'll just. . > Check the park once more for Investigative Purposes :tm:.

Now I know what we have here... hmmm...

I'll think on this. Wonder if people have returned to the crime scene.

Fischer then returns to the crime scene.
hey who turned out the lights?
Parks and Wreck: [8] You see the police tank roll down the road to the construction site, and a guy pops out the top, and goes in to the construction site. About twenty minutes later, he comes out, looking annoyed, and drives the tank back to block 3. He crushes a parked car with an expired parking meter on the way back with the tank. That was an... "interesting" diversion. But it doesn't look like there's anything at the park right now, other than the weirdly oppressive sense of exposure and all together too many people.

Meanwhile, Dr. Fischer heads back to the crime scene, to see Kaikoku covered in bruises, and Seko laughing. The pawnshop guy peaks out the shutters and smirks. Truly, physical comedy is great.

> . .try and track down the tank guy

... huh. Did you manage to find anything? And also what the fuck happened?
hey who turned out the lights?
Track down the tank guy [1]: You try, but on heading over to the crushed car, you fall and cut yourself on the broken husk's twisted metal. You get blood all over your perfectly nice clothes, and also your arm hurts now.
I am the They who says it!
>Lie down in the dirt and let the earth reclaim you Try again I guess

>Try to help the guy up.
hey who turned out the lights?
“OW! GODDAMMIT—”

> Do we still have our medkit on us?
silver dollar, black smoke in my eyes

No further injuries befall Kaikoku now that he has help in the "not dying on the pavement from a horrible accident" department. For now. Together with Dr. Fischer, investigation reveals that the scene was definitely cleaned up by someone who knew exactly what evidence to clean. There won't be any trace evidence on hand, not today. However, the CLK HAS killed one person every night... so maybe tomorrow's body will have something interesting. Meanwhile, it looks like Seko has fallen asleep on a bench, in all that riot gear somehow.

Scott does have his medkit to fix the injury...[7] And for once, it doesn't just make things worse! The cut was fairly shallow, and it's easy enough to get some various salves and bandages on it. It might scar, but it probably will stop hurting soon.

Hearing what the Spymaster said...Anaheim refrains from commiting completely, and cancels the Block 2 hostage raid completely. He ain't gonna fail this goddamn exam.
Very interesting...first person to consume solid objects through liquid methods.

You made the right decision.

Meanwhile, Scott heads over to the scene of the crime to find Kaikoku and Dr. Fischer there, and Seko apparently asleep on a bench.

So, what is the plan we have? Any ideas on how to catch this killer?
hey who turned out the lights?
"Seems like all we've been doing is finding for clues and what not. Which doesn't sound too bad. . Until you realise how a couple of us keep getting hurt this way."

He quickly glares at Kaikoku, and then at his recent injury, before looking back at the feline chemist.

Seems like this is the sort of area that all these murders happen in. Maybe we should set up some way to... do... a thing?
