Operation as conducted Cpt. Harrier
- Well, the stairs don't go all the way down, or at the very least you can't find any stairs that go directly to the farm. but you do realize that if the Needle is Authorized Personnel Only and it connects to an entrance to the Museum of Everything, a famous tourist destination, that means you could... just find the museum's front door where everyone else comes through and cut through the museum. You get your hand stamped at the museum (free of charge for our brave Alliance Personnel), find the backmost door, and cross into the farms without incident. Though it does take a while.
- You successfully sound important to the workers at the farm, and you do seem qualified to make the points you're making. You're definitely of the status to be making them too. Also no one's going to stop someone who appears to be looking out for their safety, and they're either willing to believe you, or believe you're too much of a threat to question you.
- You look around for the control rooms for the underground farms. It's true it's quite the endeavor to farm all this underground and indoors, and it's actually kind of weird that they're doing this. What's even the point? Sure, there's limited space because the city's under a dome, but the atmosphere outside the dome isn't unbreathable or anything, it's just heatstrokingly hot. Surely they could use the sunlight out there, and just put the plants in a building cool enough to let them not dry out? If not, couldn't they just farm on a more suitable planet for it? It's a strange choice to have so much of the agricultural sector for the sector based here, on an overwhelmingly desert planet. Anyway, you eventually find a control room and tamper with the settings a little. Yields over the next few months will drop as much as 12%, which could be devastating to the local economy and to Alliance Food Distribution in the area. Also you successfully just straight up drown several fruit-bearing cactuses.
- Curious: "Your Lawyer? You're not under arrest, why would you need to..." and on hearing those words you immediately leave. The Alliance may not have many rights at all, but one thing that's remained consistent is that under most circumstances, if you're not under arrest, you're free to walk around in permitted areas. She has to think for a good while about whether or not she actually has the authority to arrest you immediately after saying she wasn't arresting you and having no clear change in circumstance, or if she the ability to continue shaking you down. She does eventually decide she'd have been able to shake you down, but by then you're already gone.
I am the They who says it!
