Inspect the bodies. Check everything. I'm most especially looking for signet rings, documents, anything with a seal or initials on it be it paper or implement, anything gold, anything shiny, money (either paper or coin, most likely coin given the... ahh... location.) Clothes are less important, they're probably too damaged, and more to the point, the rich have custom work done, so it won't fit us or anyone else, not much use except for scrap cloth. Maybe cut the clothes off, see if there's anything hidden underneath, though. We do want to be thorough.
Oh, and... ahhh... I hesitate to ask because I'm sure this will get a reaction of "ew" from some of you, but slice open their stomachs and gullets and check the insides, they may have swallowed something valuable or potentially highly informative before they died, if they thought they might be searched No real point in a FULL intestine check, they can't have lived that long after being alerted, but maybe check the lower intestine, duodenum, colon. Colon especially. Cavity search and all that. Check mouths too, in the cheeks, under the tongue, everywhere. We need a full inventory of what these people were doing and under the most optimal circumstances, enough information to at least somewhat impersonate them. I suppose my time spent working the security desk for the Archmage Senior doesn't count as life experience now.
