Gender/Pronouns: He/Him
Backstory and Personality: Nico is a mysterious inmate. On the surface, he's just an Otaku whose attitude is every bit as cheerful and naive as a kindergartener. It makes him the easiest inmate to keep in place, and he is very agreeable toward everyone he meets. He's mischievous like his cellmates and goes along with their escape attempts, but he's more childish than malicious. His obsession for anime, manga, and video games pretty much overtakes his mind and even prevents him from crafting furniture as he's supposed to as he crafts robots instead.
Unfortunately, he's darker under the covers. Being used in drug trades and testing within the slums left him with a myriad of health problems so severe and unknown that, unlike the other three cellmates of 13, he effectively cannot be released back into society. Even more unfortunate was his phobia for needles preventing him from receiving his proper treatment; He'd simply bash through the walls of his prison with each treatment day and flee across the country.
After he was brought into Nanba Prison, his treatments were converted from injections to oral medicine in various flavors, stripping him of his only reason for escaping jail. He enjoys being in prison, knowing he's safer than he was on the streets and very comfortable.
The ball and chain on his leg is actually a capsule containing spare medication. If he goes too long without his treatment, however, he turns from harmless goofball to bordering on feral. His eye gains a bright red glow and his voice drops to a demonic snarl. In this state, he is obsessed with getting his medicine back and will fight anyone in his path to retrieve it. After he reverts to normal, he typically doesn't remember what he did during his withdrawal.
Distinguishing Abilities: His mysterious strength, which doesn't necessarily need him to be in withdrawal mode to show itself. He is strong enough to kick through stone walls and throw wardens entire yards away. If he were smart enough to hone his powers, he could do serious damage. Also, because his body is so screwed up, drugs have the opposing effect on him. For example, tranquilizers just make him more active instead of making him sleep.
Other: Like all other Nanbaka characters, he never stops sparkling. He doesn't even notice how shiny he is.
