Right, clearly we're missing something.
The murderer wouldn't have had blood on them until the time of the murder.
So they would have washed their clothes later than everyone else.
Tell me, how long does cloth take to dry after a thorough cleaning? Several Hours I'd imagine.
Not just that, they would have been washed in salt water.
So they'd be almost starched-feeling, while looking messy if dried...
Or still fairly damp.
