In regards to this point, I think what you're worried about is that some parents who throw gender reveal parties do so because they want to... prevent their child from being trans?

In which case, why would that help? Throwing a big ol' party confirming their assigned gender won't change anything years down the line should little Johnny say he'd rather be called Janet. People who throw gender reveal parties (the types that go horribly wrong, anyway) don't do so because they want to stop their kid from being trans, they do so because they're inconsiderate, self-absorbed assholes with no regard for public safety.
