Actually, it makes me think about the type of people who are "fans" of fun, childish entertainment but are ashamed of liking it, so they try to make it "mature" and "grown-up". Which is missing the point, really.
it's like those people who prefer the DCEU to the MCU because the former is mindless blockbuster trash and the latter is dark and gloomy and oh-so-mature. The problem is, they're god-damn superhero movies! They're supposed to be mindless blockbuster trash! If you want to watch something actually mature, just watch The Third Man or Chinatown or something that's actually artistic and meaningful!
