⬇️ I've loved The Iron Giant since I was four, five years old. So that's the source, but as I've gotten older, I've also found that the whole idea of a sort of artificial humanity is a fascinating and relatable one for someone like me that seemingly exists in this sort of limbo beyond appearing neurotypical/“normal” from an outside perspective, but knowing I'm demonstrably different internally (and clearly presenting as such with those I'm comfortable with).
I know there's some spectrum folk that find the comparison demeaning or undignified, but in my case, it's an affirmation of my identity. “It's cool to be a robot,” and all that. :)
