By your logic, if someone came into your room and started firing a gun at you, but you still survived and they constantly try to kill you, you wouldn't vote them off? What if this were the World War II era and you and your family were one of the Jews running away from Hitler who did try to kill you. You wouldn't kill Hitler because he didn't actually succeed?
