LETS GOOOOOOOO (General hangout thread)
@Oz: Ah, the luck episode. I think I'd forgotten that one. (I haven't watched any of the early episodes recently. Or any X-files recently, for that matter.)

Maybe it's because of all the luck-based rolls in murdergames? I dunno.

You know how a lot of X-Files episodes are about mutants or people with strange and inexplicable abilities? Eugene Victor Toomes the stretchy liver-eater, Leonard Betts the regenerating tumor-eater, Eddie van Blundht the shapeshifting serial seducer, Virgil Incanto the fat-sucking vampire, et cetera.

Well, that made me think of a crossover between The X-Files and the X-Men, where the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants tries to recruit all of the, well, evil mutants that have appeared in the show, and Mulder and Scully have to team up with the X-Men to defeat the Brotherhood.
Strange, isn't it? Each man's life touches so many other lives. When he isn't around he leaves an awful hole, doesn't he?

Ooooh this intrigues me as a concept.

(also I still think "Virgil Incanto" is an awesome name.)

...Season 7 episode? (Thought it said season one in the link you gave.) Dang, I am not earning my X-files nerd cred :P

^^ And yes, that would indeed be interesting. I'd watch that. :D

Also, The X-Files is already a Fantasy Kitchen Sink, so it's not so different from your average superhero universe. Superhumans? Check. Aliens? Check. Frickin' Demons? Check.

Also also, the aforementioned X-Files x X-Men crossover (hereon referred to as XxX) could end with Nick Fury offering Mulder, Scully, and the rest of the X-Files division a job at S.H.I.E.L.D., where they'll be better equipped to deal with weird threats.

Heh yeah that's part of what I love about the X-Files, it's literally got a little bit of everything.

Even if some of the episodes are... not great.

(fun fact, my absolute favorite episode of the series and my absolute least favorite episode of the series happen to air back to back lol)

I should watch X-Files sometime.

btw favorite episode is "Pusher" (aka the one about the guy with the compelling voice and also "Cerulean is a gentle breeze")
and least favorite is "Teso Dos Bichos" (aka the really stupid one about killer kets, why you make kets evil X-Files? that's mean)

aka the 17th and 18th episodes of season 3.

Actually, now that I think about it Resident Evil is another franchise that could easily be a superhero universe, or at least a James Bond-style spy-fi universe. It's got bio-engineered super-soldiers, secret underground laboratory bases, diabolical masterminds trying to create a new breed of human, terrorist groups selling biological super-weapons, a Big Evil Corporation, genetically-modified monsters from giant alligators to giant leeches to giant fish to giant bug things to plant people to fly people to lizard people, crazy mutant hillbillies with fungal superpowers, and now friggin' vampires!

Crossover with Supernatural (Yes, I know, I know. But I think this one really does work): Mulder and Scully investigate the same Monster of the Week as Sam and Dean, and nab them for impersonating FBI agents. But then they find that Sam and Dean might actually be able to help them, and Sam and Dean find that Mulder and Scully aren't clueless ordinary agents, and they work together.

I found a episode of a British kids' show from the '80s called Supergran in which David Dixon guest starred as the American sidekick of the episode's baddie.

Yes, he pulled off a bad southern accent. Oh, and he dressed a bit like Elton John. I would say "Why, David, why?" but then again, he did star in a trashy sex flick.

A highlight of his appearance in Supergran was when he was instructed to "take [the titular character] out". He took her out alright. On a nice walk.

....been hella jealous since then
