Too bad for Sherry, the knives cause her to flinch and jump back. Minor wounds, of course, but not enough to interrupt her aim, even with her suit ruined.

Hah, you think I'm gonna go down like that?

And out comes an RPG. One's fired towards, but not directly on, Sherry, and another at the M60, though it gets intercepted in the fire.

Heeko deflects the shots fired with the beam katana, deflecting Sherry's shots deathly close back at her.

"Oh thank god, you've still got my back-"

SHANK.

...oh dear. Voi has started to plunge her knives into Heeko. He attempts to knock it off, using his beam katana to try to chop Voi's arms off-

The napalm explodes. Everyone who isn't risking getting killed by the blast WILL feel the blast grazing them.

Dubhe, taking advantage of its nigh-invulnerable true form, is advancing menacingly upon the Pianist and Heeko. "⨀θΘΦΩΣ⨞"

The Pianist takes the best option, and that is:

Grabbing Heeko and yeeting the both of them on top of Voi's prostrate body, feet ready to kick.

[OH SHIT.

Sherry panickedly leaps away from the RPG and towards the semi-downed Voi, blocking her own deflected shots with her riot shield and landing face-down in the snow next to the robot. She sees the napalm starting to explode again, grabs Voi, and pulls them closer to her, pushing Heeko and the Pianist back into the explosion with her legs... They can't die here. Not when they're seconds away from victory.]

Voi manages to pull her first arm away from Heeko as he's thrown right at her, but her lower eft arm is swiped off perfectly clean.

Fuck-damagedamagedamagedamage-GO FUCK YOURSELF. She takes her good arm and plunges the knife right at Heeko's neck, while kicking the Pianist right in the stomach.

[Magolor]

That's all the Pianist says to this. Perhaps she tries to twist in the air? In either case...

Dubhe takes aim at the Pianist and prepares to unleash Binary Fire.

[Cassie]

"GACK-"

Heeko is both yeeted and slashed. In his last moments, he tries to do one more despicable thing.

Drag the Pianist with him into the explosion.

"FUCK YOU ALL, FOREVER!"

...and those are the last words the Project Lead says before the explosion consumes him.

Voi is able to drag herself away from the explosion just in time, the metal underneath her plating taking the brunt of the heat. When it's all over...she rolls over, face up in the snow.

It was over. It was over, it was over-that's all she could tell herself. That it was all over.

Dubhe directs some angelic-looking demons towards Voi and Sherry to heal their wounds.

[Seeing Heeko and the Pianist being consumed by the explosion, Sherry hastily grabs Voi with both of her arms, covers them with the riot shield, and fucking RUNS away from the explosion as fast as she can while carrying a robot and a shield at the same time. She's dropped the weapons at this point; now that the enemies are gone, all she needs to do is protect herself and her more vulnerable ally. She trusts Dubhe will be able to tank this; it's her own fragile human flesh and Voi's already critically damaged steel and wires she needs to focus on.]

[And just like that... it's over. Sherry drops Voi onto the snow and falls over next to them, breathing heavily as Dubhe's cohorts try to heal them both. It's over. It's over. It's over.]

That host really didn't care at all. The explosion razes her completely. For a moment, she seems to be ragdolled, limp, dead, resigned to her fate. But, suddenly, she pulls out a pistol with a screen on it.

"It isn't over yet. And you're going to pay for all the death here."

She shoots! ...at the wall behind her. Strange. That's when, suddenly, this starts playing.



Festive, but unfitting for the situation.

...

Then, a loud SMASH, louder than the gunfire earlier, sounds as the entire freaking wall gets a large dent in it, somehow not causing the whole structure to collapse. And, with it, the source of its destruction: A large freaking bus directly coming at Voi, Sherry, the ice cream, and Heeko's own dead body.

"Adieu! Fabula est acta! I can't think of anything good for now, you Traitors! Goodbye!"

And despite being shot and sliced, and being run over just as much by the bus, she shoots one last RPG round straight down, hops in the bus, and rides it directly at the opposing tower, creating yet another portal to who knows where. Wounded, and abandoning ship tower.

Devil Survivor 2 - A New Rule

Dubhe reverts to human form and floats over to the others. "And that's that. The Aurora Project has been destroyed. My work in this timeline is done.

"Hm... what to do now? Usually Lady Polaris recalls me immediately when a mission is finished."

Voi barely manages to turn her head. Is..is that a bus-

[...Looks like it's not over just yet.

Sherry just grabs Voi one more time and YOINKS them out of the way of the bus.]

Not even paying attention, Dubhe just floats out of the bus's path.

[Cassie]

Suisei immediately fires a stick of dynamite at the bus, blasting all 4 tires flat with her revolver before the bus is blown to smithereens.

"Sui-chan is...THE SAVIOUR TODAY TOO!" She declares with high pride, jumping down to the survivor's view.

"Good job. And good riddance, you folks, for helping overthrow this stupidly overblown and useless Project! Sucks we had to kill him for this, but, oh well! Me and Suisei's job is done here!" John Thorn says, after following Suisei.

...Couldn't you have killed that fucker earlier?! Before I lost my damn arm... Voi seems a bit out of it, needless to say.

That's all you hear before the portal closes, The Pianist falling through the Void alone.

[Still breathing heavily, Sherry turns to Voi and Dubhe, nodding resolutely at them both.] "Aye. You two... Fabulous job, vosotros dos. We... we did it. Dubhe..." [She pauses, carefully considering what to say next.] "...I... still don't understand why your leaders told you to kill everybody here in order to stop the project. We would've joined you without the murder. But... it's over now. It's done. And... we won. We won. ...No hay que preocuparse, Voi. We'll be able to get your arm fixed, I bet. You... you were invaluable, here. All of us were. Teamwork. Teamwork—that's the core value in Punta Ceniza. And this is why."

Dubhe shrugs. "Ostensibly, you all came here to work on the project and wouldn't sabotage it just because we asked you to... Maybe that was true at the start, but by the time I arrived, things really had devolved, huh? But Lady Polaris wouldn't let me risk my mission by asking people, not until there was a 100% chance of success no matter what they said."

Unfortunately, both Suisei and Thorn seemed to have left the vicinity.

The three would find three more escape pods like the one Ruby was sent into. Odd. Thought there was only one for Ruby because of her role...

...Least arms are one of the easier things to replace back in Helium. There's pods, huh.


Maybe we could fix em up. Make them so we can see each other again.
