You find one in the storage room and pick it up, only for it to fire a dart into your neck, making you collapse on the ground, losing consciousness due to being sedated.

(I had a 9mm pistol, for comparison.) but one, I'm not entirely sure if he still got to keep it after the mission, and two, wouldn't that be kinda... obvious? like, it's pretty clear multiple people hate him from the get-go. that just seems like a prime opportunity to frame him—easy scapegoat. doesn't mean I'm not suspicious of him—for all we know, he could've intentionally made it obvious specifically so that we'd think it's a frame job and leave him off the hook—but you never know."

...I wasn't saying it meant he did it either. And sure, it could be either a frame job or want to look like a frame job. But we don't have much to go on here, and I'm just trying to remember things like that, is all. If someone *was* trying to frame him... I don't know, maybe that could help?
