Eki and Anya are so absorbed in their research that they don't notice the newcomers at first.read: OP was distracted by other things
"We've gathered some evidence, but not enough to formulate a hypothesis. We're still missing some key pieces of information. For example, uh... how exactly Ed connected to this?"
"That's a riddle for the ages! Say, how long have we been doin' this? I'm starting to get the antsies!" Anya twiddles her fingers.
Eki looks up at the clock. Damn, they've been cooped up in the museum for quite a while. "Around a few hours. You're right, my attention span is starting to taper out. Do you want a break?"
"Pretty please!"
Eki and Anya walk out of the museum, and spot Neptune and Kirby.
"Hey, new people!" Anya waves.You both look pretty friendly! Nice to meet you, whatever your names are!"
"Uh... same. Greetings to both of you."Eki seems to be focused on Kirby. They've never seen a creature like him before. What is this pink puffball?
Then they hear about the alien cat.
"That's... definitely not a normal cat. What is it doing here? Regardless, it's not everyday you discover a new species of cat. I'm a bit excited, actually."
"Perhaps it came from the anomaly? Maybe that's what the anomaly really is! A den of weird kitties!"
"I wish that was the case, but uh... I don't think you're right. Anyways, Ed wants us to recover his guest book. Let's go."
Alien Animal Control
1. Before they go looking for the cat, Eki and Anya will shop for some gear. Gloves to protect their hands, along with some fish, cat treats, and catnip. After this, the duo will ask for eyewitness accounts, and they'll narrow down the cat's location from there, using the cat treats and fish to hopefully lure the levitating cat out of its hiding place
2. Once they spot the cat.i will sprinkle some catnip onto the ground. Hopefully, the cat will be attracted to the 'nip and experience its effects. Once the cat is on the ground enjoying the catnip, Eki will grab the alien feline and hold it tightly, wrapping their skysail around it so the cat has a harder time escaping. They'll try to calm the cat by petting and cuddling it. Can Eki make the cat purr?
3. After the cat's under control, Anya will yank the guestbook from the kitty's paws, stow it into her bag, and make a run for it. She'll make her way to Grunkle Ed, who Anya hopes will show some gratitude since he's making the campers do chores for him.

Eki and Anya roll a 6 on the first task, a 10+1 on the second task for being good with animals, and a 2 on the third task. This gives them a score of 19.
It takes a while, but Eki and Anya do lure the cat out of its hiding place.
The cat is, in fact, very attracted to catnip. It is also very attracted to Eki's pets. The combination makes for some extremely loud purrs. That's not a motor, is it?
While so relaxed, though, the cat is kneading its paws on the book. When Anya goes to take it, the book gets rather ripped by kitty claws. Oops!

The challenge has been won by Jake Cuzco, congratulations! He will have the cushiest cabin for the night, and incidentally, the cabin with the most security. Ed is grateful.

As she takes a few steps in the opposite direction from Ed, she stumbles upon a strange, round pink fellow.
"Oh, bonjour!
Comment t'appelles tu?What's your name?
" Bunyan asks him. "Je suis Paul Bunyan!"

"You come from a planet named... Popstar? Curious." Eki twitches their ears. This is the second time in the same day they've encountered an alien. Is the anomaly somehow attracting extraterrestrials to this town? Every alien Eki met before they were flung here tried to kill them, but at least the cat and Kirby aren't outwardly murderous.
"I'm Princess Anya! Welcome to Earth, you... pink puffball! I don't know what you are, but you sure are cute!" Anya waves at Kirby. She is resisting the urge to hug him.
"...Eki. My name is Eki. Pleasure to meet you." Eki waves at Kirby too.

"Me and a few others are visiting this town and we're sleeping at cabins owned by a Mr. Ed. And please don't freak out, but first, someone got murdered a few nights ago, but even though it was quite troubling and that we haven't found the killer, no one else has died ever since, so we'd been hanging out, spending time in the town and dealing with silly animals."
