"Man! Nobody's doing anything! I'm soooooo bored! How about we get the race going, huh? It's not like there's a big commotion at the anomaly or anything!'"
Eki's eyes light up. "...Anya, that's it! The anomaly!"
"What about the anomaly?"
"We don't have much to do right now, so we could take this time to investigate the anomaly. This is just a hypothesis, but what if the strange phenomena we've been experiencing is connected to the anomaly, like the dreams?"
"Cool idea! But I'm a bit wary about what the anomaly is hidin'. If this Luke dude's involved somehow, then... I don't know. Can we go skysailin' instead?" Anya looks slightly unwell. She's doing her best not to think about the time she was... nevermind.
"Then we'll turn back if it gets too intense. it makes you feel better, we can do the race afterward. Deal?"
"Deal!"

Victoria decides to head into the woods. Not more than fifty feet up the trail head, she sees a bear, and it looks like it might charge. She's freaked out and forced to run back into town and take shelter... in the diner. She got a woods experience, at least.

The two of them head toward the anomaly. They get pretty close, in fact. But something tells them to turn back before they get there. It doesn't look different near there, but it feels different.

OK, Anya's started to get a bit terrified. "I'm gettin' a really bad feeling about this, Eki! Maybe we should turn back."
"It's too dangerous to approach from the ground, but... let me see something first. Stand by and be ready to catch me if something happens."
"Eki! Are you sure?"
Eki flies up with their skysail and

OK, that breeze's strong. It's like the universe itself doesn't want anyone to see the anomaly. Eki floats back down.
"Uh... the wind was too strong for me to approach it closely."
"See? If nature itself's tellin' us to stay away, then we should! That hasn't stopped us before, but still! We should put this off for now before somethin' terrible happens to us!"
"Agreed. I guess it's time for the race."
"Yep! What do you say? From here, we do a loop around the woods, and then 3 laps 'round town. Whoever lands on the museum roof first wins! Sound good?"
"Yes, it does. To clarify, I'm going to win this time!"
"I won't let you beat the champ! Let's start... NOW!"

Adrianna just stares in awe at everything that just happened.
She's snapped out of it by Gooble's comment about the town being cursed.
That, my blobby buddy, is a no-brainer! But surely the curse is being dimmed by the glorious power of our friendship!
She says this completely sincerely, without a hint of irony or sarcasm.

"Nah! I was just pullin' at your leg. Nice job, Eki. You're like a pro with that skysail! That was really fun! That feelin' you get when the wind wooshes past you as you zoom between the trees and above everyone else... it's wonderful. We should do this more often!"
"Agreed. You also put in a lot of effort, Anya. Your skill remains strong as ever. Good game."
