Eh... not exactly. You ever heard the phrase "fish outta water"? Not tryin' to be funny here, but it fits the merman I know. He spent most of his life livin' in the ocean, and was pretty much alone after his parents abandoned him. Now he just came to live among the humans. He has human legs, but turn into fins when he gets in the water. He did make a deal with some kinda supernatural being though to get how he is. Though it came with a price...

From her perspective, it's been ten years since magic was formally introduced to Earth, so why wouldn't they know what beastfolk were, or anything else about the elemental worlds for that matter?
"You see, beastfolk are pretty much just humans with a few animal traits here and there? For example, my wife's a sheepwoman! She has wool for hair, pointy, sheep-like ears, and a tail, but she's otherwise human. You know those catgirls that show up in anime? They're beastfolk, too."

Emilia closes her eyes and takes a deep breath. Suddenly, she becomes a blob of colorful goop, which rapidly resizes and reshapes itself. Within a few seconds, there is now a mouse where Emilia was once standing. The mouse turns back into Emilia a few seconds later.
"Ta-da!"
