RE: Murder in the Mountains 2: WHAT. (Day 1) - PopcornPie - 09-08-2022

"N-no, it was the other way around! Really! Eep..."

RE: Murder in the Mountains 2: WHAT. (Day 1) - Florien - 09-08-2022

Does the order matter at all? We've got a clear contradiction here. Everyone would know their own role, so why would they claim two different roles which do different things and have very different names?

RE: Murder in the Mountains 2: WHAT. (Day 1) - PointMaid - 09-08-2022

If there was a contradiction either way, true. But if they truly did get confused... which I agree with you, the roles really are not similar...

Now, Louis and Marie are now claiming Even Night Jailers. Is there another Even Night Jailer? Or is there only an Odd Night Jailer? Because if there's one, if I recall the rules correctly, there must be the other, and we would expect two. I believe. I will re-read the pamphlet.

RE: Murder in the Mountains 2: WHAT. (Day 1) - PointMaid - 09-08-2022

...Hmm. Okay I read it again. No, actually, it doesn't say that there would be two Jailers, merely an entry for an Even or Odd, parity, night jailer. So there would still seem to be a contradiction.

RE: Murder in the Mountains 2: WHAT. (Day 1) - Weirdguy149 - 09-08-2022

"We could just go for the more simple route of deciding who's guilty between me and the girl, if you would prefer."

RE: Murder in the Mountains 2: WHAT. (Day 1) - Magolor - 09-08-2022

Some people will fudge up the most simple of orders. The matter at hand is whether that's what happened here. Investigation would be more useful than interrogation! We should focus on the plan for that over figuring out from all this bickering whether they messed up one way or another!

RE: Murder in the Mountains 2: WHAT. (Day 1) - PointMaid - 09-08-2022

I'm really not sure how that would be simpler? Or why you of all people would suggest it, unless you have a way of determining it definitively. We need to suggest someone today, or one of us will be killed randomly, I'll remind you.

RE: Murder in the Mountains 2: WHAT. (Day 1) - Zanreo - 09-08-2022

"So, they're actually Jailers, not Bus Drivers? Something still feels off... but if it matters, I'm Odd-Night, meaning an Even-Night Jailer would check out. I'm guessing no one else claimed Jailer?"

RE: Murder in the Mountains 2: WHAT. (Day 1) - Kennifer - 09-08-2022

"Even with all the confusion at least there's a pretty clear list of potential suspects, right? That helps a lot."

RE: Murder in the Mountains 2: WHAT. (Day 1) - PointMaid - 09-08-2022

Reading back over the rule pamphlet, I don't believe the rules provide for more than one Bus Driver. And I believe they offer a way of determining a liar for real. Under Edge Case Notes, bullet point four. Describes how the odd/even nights get split up. If there is also a Watcher and a Stalker, the Bus Driver should be Odd Night. If there is only one of those present, the Bus Driver should be Even. If there is neither, they should be Odd. And if there is a Jailer, they should be the opposite day as the Bus Driver.

Votes (7 to confirm)

Louis and Marie: Overlynd, Samantha

RE: Murder in the Mountains 2: WHAT. (Day 1) - PointMaid - 09-08-2022

...I will change my vote if Nico says that the one that doesn't line up is the other supposed Bus Driver.

RE: Murder in the Mountains 2: WHAT. (Day 1) - Kennifer - 09-08-2022

"Have the others who do something every other night specified which night they're active? 'Cause that could probably help too, right?"

Felicia ponders this a moment, still looking confused, as she picks Pippin up into her arms.

RE: Murder in the Mountains 2: WHAT. (Day 1) - PointMaid - 09-08-2022

I was assuming so, and hoping Nico could let us know if things line up as they should without Marie and Louis in the picture or not. That would be preferable and least information leaked to possible bad actors. Or at least perhaps he could say what of those roles have been claimed without saying who is claiming them. ...If they have not included which nights they are active, then it is still helpful but not as much. And it is barely possible another scum could have claimed one of those roles as well, throwing us for a ride.

"Like Sam, I will change my vote if Nico says the other bus driver is the one that doesn't add up."

RE: Murder in the Mountains 2: WHAT. (Day 1) - PopcornPie - 09-08-2022

"Okay. Yoshiko says they're the odd-night driver. Louis and Marie didn't say they were odd, so that could mean they're the even night one."[

RE: Murder in the Mountains 2: WHAT. (Day 1) - Kennifer - 09-08-2022

Felicia is going to take a look at the same notes Samantha has been reading. She does a bit of counting on her fingers.

"Okay, I have one question here. Did anyone claim Watcher?"

RE: Murder in the Mountains 2: WHAT. (Day 1) - PointMaid - 09-08-2022

...According to the rules pamphlet [[OOC: And the response I got from Sylvi in the game channel on Discord]] there still can't be two Busdrivers, even active on different nights. As I said:

How does this line up with the roleclaims you received, Nico? You could tell us which of these so-called 'parity' roles have been claimed (and hopefully their nights active claimed) if necessary, without revealing who claimed them.

RE: Murder in the Mountains 2: WHAT. (Day 1) - PopcornPie - 09-08-2022

Nico counted on his ghostly fingers. "I have claims of two Gunners, two Bus Drivers, a Night Jailer, a Town Mason, a Shapeshifter, a One Shot Bulletproof, a Two-Shot Commuter, an Odd Night Stalker, and one Townie."

RE: Murder in the Mountains 2: WHAT. (Day 1) - Oggy123 - 09-08-2022

"I see."

RE: Murder in the Mountains 2: WHAT. (Day 1) - Kennifer - 09-08-2022

"Okay, Odd-Night Stalker lines up with no Watcher claim, which would mean if that's all true we should have..." She glances at the list again. "...an Even-night Bus Driver and Odd-night Jailer, if I'm reading it right."

RE: Murder in the Mountains 2: WHAT. (Day 1) - PointMaid - 09-08-2022

...Well, that would appear to mean the Bus Driver should be Even, and supports the claim of the Royals. Unless the supposed Odd Night Stalker is somehow also on the side of the killers.

...That claim of there being two gunners is also suspicious, but that's the other duplicate we already discussed, isn't it?

RE: Murder in the Mountains 2: WHAT. (Day 1) - PointMaid - 09-08-2022

Samantha nods at Felicia, who came up with the same supposition that she had.

RE: Murder in the Mountains 2: WHAT. (Day 1) - PointMaid - 09-08-2022

...And I think Nico had mentioned two Masons earler, which is the correct number for that.

(Sorry for triple-posting)

RE: Murder in the Mountains 2: WHAT. (Day 1) - Florien - 09-08-2022

WAIT

A townie? A "vanilla townie" with no role do you mean?

That raises disturbing questions like "why are they lying there's no such thing at this phase of the game and no one knows if they've become vanilla or not" and you should reveal that person's name immediately if they claimed to have no role, only alignment. And apparently we have been delivered more important information today. I will act on that.
