Like Tears in Rain

It's an era where travel between different times and different timelines is possible. When? Where? ...Unimportant. There are also sentient AIs working to keep the timeline as it is… and some working for groups who feel the timeline would be better off just a bit different. Or a lot different.

BOB-B is tasked with defending the current timeline. MORI-RT was developed by a group collaborating across other  timelines. They're not so happy with the status quo, and they're willing to go to some extreme lengths to put their ideas into practice.

You are all important in some way. How? ...Well, even the two AIs can't see all eventualities. But you've been kidnapped and put into… well, a containment. You have all amenities. It's a pretty nice place. There's even a room with portals back to your own times and dimensions…. You have to be back here at night though. They know where you live. Literally.

A few of you are supporters of the group behind MORI-RT. Not even BOB-B knows which ones. But the supporters will try to erase the others from the timeline, permanently.

THIS GAME WILL BE CUSTOMIZED THE PLAYERS. Yes, you can still change your character and of course you can drop out. This will mean that there will be a longer than usual time after signups in order to complete the customization. The game is expected to start in the middle of December. Please be patient, and understand that this is a slightly higher commitment than usual, but as I said you can still change characters or drop out and be replaced. Co-hosting will be MadameButterflyKnife!

RULES

There will be 12 slots and three scum tasked with erasing the others from the timeline, permanently. The scum will be the only ones allowed through the portals at night.  The innocents will have one Bus Driver who will be able to covertly switch two people's portals so that actions done on one person will be instead done on another. The other innocents are Town Backup Bus Drivers (have a chance of becoming the Bus Driver if the Bus Driver  is killed) or one Town Cop (Able to investigate whether a player is scum; this is affected by Bus Driving). If you're dead, don't post in the thread, and don't reveal what you know to those who are still playing, especially who killed you.

Please make sure all rollable actions are prefaced with a ">" as in "> [character] tries to open the locked safe." Food, drink, and moving to a place you're allowed to be are not rolled actions and do not need to be prefaced that way. Obtaining items is a rollable action.

Voting: to vote on who is a scum, use the format "/vote [character]".

There will be challenges. The best responses to the challenge will win immunity for the night (One response will be chosen as best by each of the two co-hosts. Inventiveness, writing, and amusement factor may be a part of the judging criteria, but 'what is best' is up to the two co-hosts.)

Height and Weight (approximate is ok): Around 5'6"-5'7" and slim (between 115-120 pounds I guess?)

Abilities: She can find humor in most situations, though this is mostly a coping mechanism. She's also smarter and more analytical than she looks when it comes to sussing people out (though she might be distracted if they're particularly funny...) Good at... making references to Seinfeld (and also South Park and Friends but these are less common). She's also a pretty decent cook if you like pasta.

General Background (Where are they from? What major events have they been though? Etc.): She lived with her parents and her slightly-older-sister Elizabeth (usually known as Lizzy) in upstate New York until she finished school, then she set off on her own. When she was a kid she had a pet rabbit, and rabbits have been her favorite animal ever since. (She has several rabbit plushies.)

She's held a series of odd jobs including retail (which she is okay with), working at a cafe (which she didn't care for as much), working at a call center (which she hated), and working as a personal assistant (her most recent/current job, which she can and will make comparisons to when Elaine worked for Mr. Pitt on Seinfeld though her boss is far less eccentric than Mr. Pitt.) She is still close with her family, especially Lizzy, despite their rather different personalities (Amy is fond of comedy and prone to existential crises, Lizzy is fond of action movies and plays electric bass in a heavy metal band).

previously, and will remember... most of it. She'd had a terminal condition, and heard that if she'd gotten herself killed at night she'd be able to be revived whole and healthy. Unfortunately, this didn't happen despite her best efforts, and she vanished from existence at the end of the game. Although she was brought back, she does remember what it was like to fade away and has the occasional existential crisis from it.

Other: Amy has long wavy blonde hair that is usually held back with black ribbons, and turquoise eyes. She usually wears a long-sleeved white T-shirt under a (usually black) cardigan sweater with a (usually plaid) knee-length skirt, black tights, and black boots. She usually wears dangly heart-shaped earrings and some sort of necklace with a crystal or charm on it. (See pic below.) She will speak in this color.

Age: More than likely under a year old.

Species: A model T-800 Terminator with life-like human skin over his cybernetic body.

Gender/Pronouns: Genderless robot, but passes as a male, so you can refer to him as a "he".

Height and Weight (approximate is ok): 6'2, around 400 lbs.

Abilities: Has infrared vision which can come in handy for facial recognition and combat, can also mimic voices perfectly and knowledge of computers, as well as super strength and handy with weaponry.

General Background (Where are they from? What major events have they been though? Etc.): He's a Terminator that was built by Skynet and captured by the Resistance. Rumors persisted that he might have had some reprogramming resistance put in by Skynet as they tried their best to fix him up before he gets sent to the present setting, hoping they might have bypassed it and that he would be on the side of good. Though it is possible they might have failed to bypass the safeguards. Whether they did so or not is a mystery.

Other: Whether or not his safeguards got overridden depends on what side he falls on obviously. So it can be easy to justify if he's town or scum. Pretty simple, I know, but that's the story I'm going with. Also, his appearance is based off of Terminator 2: Judgement Day. He also speaks like this.

Name: Sakuya Izayoi

Age: unknown actual age, but around 16-20...

Height and Weight (approximate is ok): 175 cm, 60 kg

Abilities: Time manipulation (with a special pocket watch she carries around with her) (slowing down, speeding up, and stopping time altogether, utilizing parallel universes, etc.), using many throwing knives as projectiles as well as using knives as melee weapons, etc.

General Background (Where are they from? What major events have they been though? Etc.): A maid from the mysterious Scarlet Devil Mansion in Gensokyo (essentially a feudal part of Japan separated from the Outside World that allows fantasy to roam and exist freely independent of the Outside World), Sakuya's the loyal maid and right hand of a certain vampire called Remillia Scarlet. Sakuya originally fought the incident resolvers Reimu Hakurei and Marisa Kirisame when Remillia plotted a plan to spread a scarlet mist so that she could move around Gensokyo freely without fear of the Sun. After that incident (the events of Embodiment of Scarlet Devil), they became an on-again-off-again incident resolver, being involved in the Spring Snow Incident (Perfect Cherry Blossom, where snow fell in the springtime), the Eternal Night incident (Imperishable Night, where Gensokyo was thrust into an unusual night where the moon was fake), and others. (incidents are basically unusual phenomenon in Gensokyo...).

Other: ... I can't risk something like this escaping to our worlds... This is a... DIRE Incident far beyond the scope of even Gensokyo...

Name: Sam Reyu

Age: Looks 16 but is actually 689,999 years old.

Species: Human/Goddess (Half-Human, Half-Goddess)

Gender/Pronouns: She/Her

Height and Weight (approximate is ok): PERFECT height and PERFECT weight (Aka about 5'8” and 120)

Abilities: She is EXTREMELY BEAUTIFUL, EXTREMELY NICE, LOOKING FOR LOVE (She will try to flirt with everybody during the game), LOVES EVERYTHING, has a DRAMATIC FOR THE SAKE OF FEELING SORRY FOR HER BACKSTORY, has a BIG ASS SWORD and her only flaws are ENDEARING and BEING TOO GOOD AT EVERYTHING (At least that you know). And yes, these are abilities. Dig a little deeper, and you will find more. For one, luckily, none of the “Extremely Beautiful,” “Extrmely Nice,” or Anything else that will break the game matters outside of her natural habitat, her own story. She has a massive vanity problem, and will try to bend the story to be about her. She will lie to make herself seem better, and will use her powers against others who don't respect her.

Etc.): Sammy Serenity Krystal Mickey Souptime Venus Konidi Paramore Princess of Kealochslube The Third was the daughter of Matt Sury and Ray Muse, of planet Kealochslube (Pronounced Key-Loks-Loob), where she grew up. Then, when she was 5, the planet blew the fuck up (lol) and everyone on the planet FUCKING DIED and she flew before she landed in earth. She spent the next 15 years with depersson and having no family. She got by by using her EXTREME CUTENESS and BIG ASS SWORD. She had to endure a villain, also from the planet, who didn't want her to survive so the villain could be the last. They fought for like 10 years, and after that was done, Sam Reyu could finally enjoy peace. Oh, and Sam Reyu has a power nobody else in her fanfic did. The power to bend the earth. She could make it so everything was about her, everybody loved her, and her villain, no matter their reasoning, was always in the wrong. They don't have that in this game, though…

General Background: Charis originally comes from a Standard Fantasy Setting world, where people were assholes about her being trans and mute, so when a weird voice came to her with an offer to give her her perfect desired body and go far far away, she accepted immediately without considering that this was probably going to ultradoom her home through some kinda cryptic machinations. Much later, when she did realize it, she decided that they sucked and deserved whatever they got.
Since then, she's spent her time wandering the worlds.
Other: Did we mention mute? She can make mouth-noises, and she understands language, but combining the two inexplicably eludes her. She prefers communicating in <sign language>, though she's got a smartphone with text-to-speech if need be.
Also, she was in .EXE 2 and has a mysterious red streak in her hair (not pictured). What's that about?

Age: . . I have no idea. I'll say somewhere in his 30s and move on.

Height and Weight: 5'8, around the average weight for a guy that tall.
Abilities: Typical psychologist stuff, really. He's particularly capable of reading people — Inferring their flaws, weaknesses, and what not via simple observation, for instance.

Simon's childhood was pretty ordinary — That's a pretty good descriptor for most of his life, actually. Up until he started working at the SCP Foundation as an agent.

Now, there's not much to being a field agent, beyond the whole ‘searching for and reporting anomalies’ thingamajig.
Theeeen an incident happened and that almost killed his cousin from a rival organisation.

General Background: Not much is known about them, except they suddenly appeared at the coast of Cinnabar Island. Thought to be a "glitch" that shouldn't exist, they've often been hiding away and keeping their distance from those who didn't seem to understand them. Likes swimming and being near water.

Abilities: She uses ropes and chains as her weapons, is capable of lockpicking, and can shapeshift between three forms: a crow-winged human, a large, vermillion crow, and a murder of 47 vermillion crows. Also maid skills like high cleaning speeds. Despite being from Gensokyo, her danmaku is actually pretty shitty.
General Background:

• Dissatisfied with the Tengu's journalism business in Gensokyo (stemming from its occasional unfun tediousness), she decided to go to the Scarlet Devil Mansion after seeing a poster showing a maid job offer for that place. Her ability to wield chains and rope stem from the amount of times she had to restrain Flandre Scarlet when she went nuts after being released, or when she was dangerously close to threatening her own life (whether because someone else decided that Flandre's gotta be stopped via lethal means, or when she runs the risk of making physical contact with what she's weak to)
  
• She most frequently tends carrying heavy objects and maintaining cleanliness in the mansion's library, and got pretty familiar with some of the more notable members (like Patchouli and Sakuya). Despite not being good at danmaku and not having the kind of powers Sakuya has, the latter still has respect for her for her capability of holding her own with what powers she does have.
  
• Takes place of Sakuya in the "make sure Meiling is doing her job of guarding the gate and not just sleeping in the wrong damn times" department.
  
• Murder In The Mountains: She went on a hiking trip with some people and got pretty familiar with some of them. In particular, she ended up with a pretty close friendship with Amy...which made her pretty sad that she straight-up faded out of existence at the end of the game. She ended up being the first victim of the death cultists, but got better after all of said cultists were executed.
  

Other: She's a great drinker, but usually keeps alcohol consumption at a minimum. She's also started to watch shows like Seinfeld because of Amy. Speaks in this color.

Abilities: Formerly trained in warfare, but most of his training has worn off, aside from gun usage and identification. Speaks English and Bengali fluently.

General Background: A former solider in some mercenary group, but left after the group committed serious war crimes ("something something child soldiers" is about as much as he'll elaborate). He was involved in the second season of Brothers in Arms, and thus has a lot of bad blood with Sam. He escaped, and was just about to leak what he believed was important news to Reuters, when he wound up in this mess.

General Background (Where are they from? What major events have they been though? Etc.): I am a famous actress (you probably know me from Shallow Hal and a few Marvel movies) and a successful businesswoman.

My mother is a Time Lady but she and my grandparents left Gallifrey after she was born. She became an actress after college. My dear, late father was a successful producer here on Earth. They secretly sent me off to the Time Lord Academy when I was a Time Tot where I graduated with flying colors! I started my acting career after that.

My acting career and, of course, my beloved children are my pride and joy, but it doesn't compare to my lifestyle brand Goop! At Goop, we teach everyone all about alternative ways of living happily and achieving wellness. We also make and sell products that help people on their journeys to living their most authentic lives possible! Etc.): Helena was originally a demon from hell, until Audley, who won tickets to hell on an office party raffle, needed to complete something for her job. So she kidnapped Helena, and basically added another personality to her, and made everyone think that she made Helena. “Helena” was dumb, terrible at everything the real Helena was good at, and was what most people thought of her. The real Helena was only accessible when the fake Helena had alcohol enter their system. Once she reunited with her father, they currently live together.

She grew up in a small town and in her youth, was bullied for being viewed as "weird and shy". And as a result, has something of a shy, reserved demeanor, but underneath it all is someone who wants some companionship but is a little nervous around people because of her bad experiences and can be a bit intimidated at first, though with enough time, she can warm up to some.

Etc.): They were born in 1920s New York as Robert "Bob" Jones, became a lawyer very quickly, then "died" in an explosion. Soon after, an accident involving uranium and ghosts occured, granting him new life as Skelebob Bones, where he continues his legal occupation. Not sure how he ended up with the time travel plot, but I'm sure a better writer than me can explain it.

Other: Is a skeleton, wears a top hat and a bow tie, carries a cane. I don't have an image.
