Kennifer finally returns to Murderfree and freaks out at there being portals. (And freaks out at having died finally... and at how much murder she's committed... and what people might be thinking of her now.)

Finally host2's fate is beyond changing and it's been officially revealed that he killed V, so here's how that went down in complete detail

V and Host 2 meet up, using the loophole that they had devised earlier.

[host2 throws V another paper, this time reading...]
"So, you're here. We need to talk. Last night, when I was isolated from you, I was thinking about some stuff. You know how the hotel has so much people concentrated into a small pocket? Well, that would translate to a lot of Ideaverse power concentrated in a single place, and that poses a problem. What if TM Awe already knows about the hotel, and he might just be waiting for enough people to come in so he can have enough energy to harvest from your domain? Well... I've been thinking of several improvements to our little cause to kill him.

... that would be problematic indeed, if he did secretly know about us. What improvements do you have in mind?

Right now, the denizens of your domain are nothing more then sitting ducks.. however, from what little I seen of the hotel, they have the tendency to produce so much fluff to the point that it isn't even funny anymore. We need something... more spicy to kick them off their butts and get them to produce traumatic memories, which is why I propose that we send the hotel guests out to other dimensions periodically, and then have them come back after a certain amount of time. That way, they will be forced to experience traumatic memories that we can harvest. That might sound like a risky idea... but at this point, taking down TM Awe is our number 1 priority.

Kid, the fluff is the point of the hotel. The energy might be trickling in, but it trickles in forever, unlike murdergames, which end in one big burst. No. It's not broken, don't fix it.

[host2 is a bit dismayed at V's response.] Look, V... this for your own good. What if the energy just stops flowing in one day? TM Awe can strike at any moment, and the sooner we can get the energy, the better.

That's not how this works, kid. I've got it under control.

So... you're saying that you think that you can do things completely by yourself? Then... why did you revive me in the first place if you think that way? And by the way... stop calling me a kid.

You are a kid. You've existed for like, three weeks, tops.

[host2 suddenly summons a light-dagger out of anger towards V's statement.] Look...  just because I am a kid doesn't mean that you should be the one controlling my entire life. What do you see really see me as... Vivi? Come on, tell me!

Right now, I see you as someone who doesn't seem capable of listening. She summons a pair of light-daggers of her own. I don't know what you think you're doing, but it won't work.

So... it's come to this, my headmistress. I'm sorry to say this, but... it's time for you to say goodbye.

Host2 takes his dagger and stabs it at V's heart multiple times. She's barely alive when he snaps her neck, ending her off.

V is dead. Vivi's body lay in the front hall, killed by her own child.

I had, at one point in the murderfree discord channel, suggested the possibility of a costume/cosplay contest arc for Murderfree.

I am thinking now with the introduction of the portals, that beyond just something like "oh this could be a fun thing for people to do in the hotel for Halloween or something"... maybe there could be an actual convention that characters can attend in costume? Supplies for costumes could be gotten through another of the portals, whether at the Cloud Nine Mall that Bow and Alexis discovered or elsewhere. A con could also provide opportunities for fun stuff other than just a costume/cosplay contest.

There's also the fact that in general, with some exceptions, only the scum tend to leave evidence. Investigators generally don't. Perhaps goes with the Don't Effect The Evidence idea. It's one thing that, let me say it, doomed Amanda in LaB, since I'm fairly sure we all pretty much realized that.

Pfff. Just realized we went through all of MitM without at all taking this into account.

There's a revamp for ya, all the night actions leave footprints and stuff. That also means everyone has to RP it... That'll be fun.

For Free Association, I'm thinking I'm going to present all physical evidence at the scene of the crime up front to the players, so we don't have to faff around with ">find this physical evidence" ">find that physical evidence" etc. Wheedling more information out of the evidence at hand, like thinking of ways to test whether a potential explanation lines up with reality, and figuring out what evidence is missing and thus was removed from the scene or came in through an unknown vector, is left up to the players though.

Does that sound like an interesting idea, or is "vaguely the old system" good enough?

I'd definitely be down for that. Especially if it's kinda like, "When you walk into the room where the murder happened, this is what you see". That's pretty realistic.

Yeah, that's the kind of thing I'd expect from a real crime scene.

Of course it'd still be good for the players to go find the scene themselves instead of "oh hey so and so is dead in their bedroom and yadda yadda yadda" at the start of day phase. XD

Dubhe holds forth one hand. "I've seen how much you care about this project - or more precisely, how much you don't. You can help us take it down."

And the other. "But if there's one thing I've learned about mortals, it's that some things are more important than life. You can stand against me, if that's what's important to you. You'll die, of course."

* Dubhe is sparing you.

"It's your choice. The project ends tomorrow either way."

One thing I must say about Party to Treason is that, even though I'm not partaking in it, it's the most invested I've been in a Murdergame ever. It's a nice twist on the formula, the host character's amazing, and the players are absolute gold.

I'm having a lot of fun playing in it too. Wasn't sure I'd be able to pull off playing Eridan but even if he's a bit out of character, it's still fun.

Y'know, the funny part is even if Entrapta doesn't get murdered in TheMurderChallenge, not knowing what anything is in this world means she's probably going to end up dead within the week anyway

I keep forgetting that people who die early might want to replace in and having to re-derive my entire thought process from scratch. So I'm gonna write it down for reference this time.

The basic idea is that it needs to be public knowledge that you had absolutely no secret information when you died.

If you have secret information, you're leaking. If it wasn't public knowledge, letting you replace in reveals that fact.
