Someone was going to die, the most optimal decision was to kill someone. We know this from every iteration we've been through. We'd never have caught onto you if you hadn't made a scene. Well, we would have... more slowly, but we would have.

I was actually thinking it would be june who was working with the witch as the poisoner or the false-negative, Susan was just a guess. I'd never have been so confident in it if someone hadn't stepped in to defend her in such a weird way.

Yeah, the hammerer voted. But you were the only one who acted really weird when we went for Susan, and tried to convince us to "spread the vote" whatever that means. Other people, like Delilah, just were like "this is weird and sudden I'm not voting immediately." Not that I'm saying Delilah isn't necessarily on team cut-our-throats. Or that she said that. The point is, you acted really desperate to get us off of Susan, and then Susan gets killed and turns out to be on team backstab? You see where I've come from with this, yeah?

If Susan had turned out innocent, maybe there wouldn't be so many obvious questions. I REALLY like you, Quin. You're one of the most fun here. But it's either keep you alive and potentially lose someone else we like, and have to kill you anyway, or kill you and hopefully get out in great condition showered with adulation for saving the day.

Look, we leave you around, you're going to be the one doing the kill. You're already cover-blown, so your teammate is going to say "cut the losses, you kill tonight so I'm without implication and can last longer". That's why you have to die tonight to the vigilante, so it has to be the other killer who makes the kill tonight. Maybe they'll trip over the hunter while we're at it.

Also most likely a vigilante kill won't involve nearly as much "ooh I'm so evil" torture. Not that torture or lack thereof makes your death better or worse. Ah, I'm just hoping you can get back up after this iteration. And that we get a perfect record of one-two-three every killer eliminated with only two to three dead non-killers.

I mean worst case you're tortured for a few days while we win. There'll only be one left to eliminate everyone. They won't get far. Just think, you've gone thousands of years. Siege bees eating your bones while you're covered in scorpions and getting waterboarded and shocked and sleep-deprived while your fingernails are pulled out for a few days and carbonated water is injected directly into your sinuses while we wait for the witch to GET FUCKED by our amazing logic skills, that's nothing in the scheme of a thousand years.

Don't listen to her, she's terrible at inspiring hope. You'll probably be fine, yeah? Torture fucks up your mind hard. You might come out with a totally new perspective on the world! A better one. Or just ehh... you call it PTSD. You might come out with that. In fact, you'll probably come out with that. But you claim you're time neutral, so you have time to get that fixed, right?

I'm VERY confident!

I... don't want it to be this way. We'll WIN either way, there's only one left after we get you shot. There isn't really a way for a lonestander to get away for long when we can just scan through the list.

The point is, you don't have a choice. The vigilante shoots you, you die. You can't stop it, you're not the one who has to go along with this plan. The vigilante is. So we don't have to convince you of ANYTHING!

Why? What are you going to do to not go along with this plan if we fail to convince you?

...she does have a point, for once in her life. What EXACTLY do you have that can stop this that we need to convince you that her plan to kill you is a good idea?

Anyway, I've said, I'm confident it'll work out fine. If it doesn't, you'll never know it didn't.

I've expressed my confidence in my plan. It'll work out fine. You'll die, more people will live because of it.

...yeah sure I express confidence it'll work, but let it be said I'm against killing one of my favorites so early. And the idea of something being "in vain" or not doesn't matter in this context because if it doesn't work out, we all get killed and we in particular just reset and try again.

Well, the vigilante should be able to shoot you before you try anything too dangerous... like stabbing me several times in the face. Yeah sure we'll watch you while you're getting shot repeatedly.

I'll only laugh a little if you do some weird writhing thing as you bleed out. I promise.

...Okay whatever, but yeah sure we'll stand... close. Also, hunter, get protecting us, I don't want to end up dead at the scene of the vigilante killing, thus ruining all the evidence. But I'm not holding you. That's close enough that you might try to gouge my eyes out with your antlers. And Feni over there might kill me. But mostly the "you might try to gouge my eyes out" and that is not a pleasant experience.
