...You're looking here for your friends because they were coming here to be employees of mine, aren't you?

I know them, yes. They... I'm sorry to say they got bitten. Now, I found out and they should be okay, I saw them alive and gave them some of my elixir. But I don't know where they are now, I'm afraid. I haven't seen them for quite some time.

I know who they are. I must confess they used to work for me before I ever met Frankie. It was back in my old island and they were some of my allies who tried to help me take the island back away from my Victoria. But she ended up poisoning them and they all died quite horribly. But apparently they came back to life and worked with Frankie it seems. Yes, I've seen them around here too, as zombies. And no, I don't know where they are, either.

Challenge One
I'm so glad you're here! It's… so difficult to find good help. And I'm sure you'll find the work as rewarding as I do! I want to spread the joy of learning and animal conservation, and the absolute wonder of seeing and interacting with animals who most would have thought no human would ever see alive again! Really makes me think we can do anything if we put our hearts and minds to it. I do want you to have a great night chatting with your fellow employees and getting to know where you'll be staying! I'm afraid there are just a few things that I need a bit of help with today before you relax, though. I'm looking for some quick thinking and efficiency here - I need some managers for my park! But for now, I'll just let the employee with the best ideas take the cabin with some cushy upgrades, the height of island luxury, including a security system.
Challenge:
1. …I'm afraid my extinct bird aviary has developed a hole and needs a fix quick before all the birds escape! And we need to lure back any that have escaped.
2. The giant sloth has burrowed under its enclosure… what is the best way to deal with that?
3. I'm also going to need help moving new lab supplies a new contact I have has arranged for from the ship into my lab before the ship that brought you here departs again. They're… quite heavy equipment. An idea for how to move it most efficiently and easily would be very appreciated.
Write up your suggestions for how to do these. Shoehorn and Frankie will each pick their favorite ideas. The winners will be rewarded with immunity from zombie bites for the day and from being killed or turned. You have 48 hours from this post.

ENA perks up at the possibility of adventure...or well, not really. Dr. Frankie was just asking for an answer to her inquiry. Lucky for her,ENA is the peak of great ideas ! But...she doesn't know where to begin ! She'll just go in order.
"Miss Doctor Frankie,I would like to address your first of many inquiries,as I believe it is the simplest one ! We should just let the biwdies escape ! It's not like any of us hawe the powew to change anything anyhow ! Err...no,no,no ! The answer is...cement ! The hole, filled with cement allows an even harder access to the outside world for the magnificent birds you keep prisoner ! But,you may ask. How do we keep the cement from just spilling uselessly inside the cage ? Well, duh ! Go inside the cage, place a piece of metal behind the hole, and hold it against the current of cement from outside until it dries, hahaha !" Well, this is new.
"As for the luggage, well, heh. The guyyyy over...theeeere is basically a mean piece of luggage...himseeelf,riiight ? Just leave it to hiiiiim..." She points to Guts, sounding... weirdly drunk...??? There probably wasn't alcohol on those snacking tables so...who knows what's even going on with her.
"As for our dear sloth friend,I believe my tiny stuppy little brain ! Has thought of an idea ! Buuuut...! It might be too indecent for your little kiddy earssss...! B-But if it *is* too indecent, please don't tell my mommy !!! I swear I'm a good girl ! Erm,but yes ! My idea,if the sloth were to be male would be to get a *female* sloth to sing a mating call,in order to lure the male sloth away from the hole and then...we could also fill the hole with cement ! ...Or well, something perhaps more eco-friendly. Maybe just mud ?" ...
... "...Hm ? If the sloth in the hole were to be female ? Well...I dunno ! Hahaha !" She laughed without a care, twirling around.

Hello there!, Dr. Frankie says, Oh yes, otters are adorable, aren't they? Especially giant ones. She grins.
I just have some tasks here I'd like everybody to write up some suggestions about how to approach them best...
She shows Fluttershy the Challenge One tasks above.

Fluttershy grazed her chin with her hoof. After a while of humming melodically, she stepped up and started writing about the sloth.
Sloths aren't stupid! They're just sleepy all the time. But if a sloth leaves his tree and goes to the ground, that's very dangerous for him. You should try to coax him back where he belongs with food. See if you can dig an opening in front of the sloth and dangle leaves into it. Provide something for him to climb onto. If this works, try lining his enclosure with concrete so it doesn't happen again."

//Oh. Okay.
Fluttershy filled in her suggestions.
1. Fluttershy could talk to the beavers about patching the hole while others go to bird-hunt. She could help these beavers retrieve driftwood from the surrounding oceans-a piece of a shipwreck would be the jackpot! Only when the beavers have everything they need will she flutter off to help catch the birds. Unfortunately, she isn't immersed in speaking extinct animal, so she's going to have to guess with the bird calls she does know. Hopefully, the extinct birds will still understand her speech. If she can't chat them back into their enclosure, she'll use her tail as a lasso and take them back by gentle, soft force.
2. Pressing her ear to the ground, Fluttershy will listen for the burrowing sloth. Then she'll walk a foot ahead of it and burrow herself, just a little entryway. Into this hole will she dangle the sloths favorite food. She can't really ponyhandle a creature with dangerous claws, so she's going to wrap it burrito-style in a tarp if she manages to draw it out. If this works, she'll unwrap the sloth back onto the tree to which it belongs, and fill the hole with concrete.
3. Lab equipment...okay, that's going to be harder. Fluttershy is no pinnacle of pony strength. She decides to go to the animals again and ask for help. If they say no? No problem...she thinks. She decides she would tie vines around the equipment, both sides, and have personnel lift it by each end. Assuming the vines are strong enough to carry the weight, it should work. You know what would also help? Logs on the bottom of the equipment that would roll like those rolly things on a conveyor belt.

" All right, step one, get some planks, get your hammers and nails, patch that shite up, move move move people! How big a hole we talking here, anyway?" Without waiting for an answer, Hitomi immediately nyooms into the distance to track the birds down with her natural feline hunting skills.
Quote:2. The giant sloth has burrowed under its enclosure… what is the best way to deal with that?
" Well what's it running from? Animals don't just burrow underground for funsies. Well, except the ones that do, but sloths aren't one of those. Point is, hunt down what's spooking it and take care of that, then it won't want to run. And maybe reinforce the turf with a layer of chicken wire or somethin' a few yalms down. To be sure."

Hitomi ponders this for several moments. " A pair of aetheryte shards would solve this in a snap, of course, but I didn't exactly bring any. But y'all still have some construction going on here, right? Borrow some hand trucks and dollies to cart the stuff."

:33< *ac is going to find some sturdy boards and patch the holes with them! she makes sure there is enough light for the birds but no holes big enough that they can get out again. then the mighty huntress will grab a purrtable bird cage and use her stealth and sneakiness to track down the missing birds, which she will bring back in the cage and put in the enclosure :33*
2. The giant sloth has burrowed under its enclosure… what is the best way to deal with that?

"How about some tough metal mesh sheets to patch up that hole, and a scent lure for any that've escaped? I've seen some birds flock around some things back home - I think that has to do with the smell of the things...I'm sure we can find the right scents to bring these ones back."
Quote:2. The giant sloth has burrowed under its enclosure… what is the best way to deal with that?
"Crap, not exactly the strongest when it comes to lifting..."
"So...why not use a stiff, long, wooden...rod? I think? Something pretty thin and long, but is thick enough to be sturdy. Gently coax the sloth out of the hole with it, making it grab onto the pole to make it easier to pull out. Then just...cement the hole, but leave something that repels sloths at the bottom, or the end of the hole so that the sloth stops trying to dig again. I'm sorry if this seems odd, since I've never seen any sloths before."

The generally fairly quiet Rutherfords Bee get together to provide help as they previously offered.
First, calling on people from the Agricultural and Mechanical College of Ohio, which they created, they have the mechanics repair the aviary and the agricultural sorts use ADVANCED BIRD KNOWLEDGE to capture and retrieve the birds. The aviary will stand stronger than before, with POWERFUL 19th CENTURY CONSTRUCTION.
Second, to prevent the sloth from escaping via burrowing, The Rutherfords Bee decide to crack down on corruption in the being-a-sloth field. This forces the sloth to come above-board, and thus above ground within the enclosure. Then, to prevent any further escapes, the Rutherfords legislate anti-patronage measures to make sure everything stays very above board.
Third, to move heavy supplies is a simple task when you're a national hero in Paraguay! The Rutherfords, having a department (state) and a city named after them, call upon Paraguayans to help move the supplies in this time of need. In exchange, Paraguay is arbitrated to also be in charge of all of Uruguay.

Dusk, after a few minutes of quiet thinking, annoucnes his solutions:
1: The obvious solution is to rebuild the enclosure. I am certain that any funds required to resource the original materials can be easily obtained, and if there are any blatant flaws in the design, it should be simple enough to plan around them. As for luring them back, that would have to be a team effort to scour the island, tranquilise them, then replace them in their habitat.
2: Given the poor speed of sloths, simply retrieve it from the hole, then use the time before it escapes to redesign its enclosure, perhaps with deeper walls that are harder to burrow under. Someone will have to keep an eye on it during construction, but there are surely enough of us to do that.
3: Do we not have any vehicles that could transport the equipment? That would be by far the simplest, most efficient solution. Otherwise I truly have no idea. I suppose they may be carried, but the manpower required would be immense, and would required all hands to assist.
hey who turned out the lights?
