I mean, it wouldn't be out of place in the book, considering that ends with the main kids forming a sex cult for... reasons, I guess.
I'm not entirely clear why they form a sex cult. I think it's supposed to represent the coming of age part of the story, but whenever I think that I immediately jump to the really obvious pun.
