christmas is the holiday where the basic element is surprising your child with gifts they don't want instead of getting them what they wish for because it'll be too expensive and they won't use it anyway and they're too materialistic and selfish and don't understand the true meaning and should feel joy about it instead of a crushing despair at the end of the year
