"I'd like to compare some DNA from one of the infected cats to that of a regular cat, if possible, but I'm guessing we don't have a sample."

This whole thing was very, very strange, but also very fascinating. Was it magic? Or maybe something from another planet or another dimension? Possibly even both, but she preferred the latter explanation because "alien science" is more interesting to her than "magic", and possibly easier to explain...

"Vell, do ve have ze DNA of a normal cat anyvere here? Hm..."

[Kennifer]

"I don't know if we have any cats here who aren't infected with the virus, but we might be able to pull something up from a database and compare it with a sample from an infected cat."

[madface7]

"Dunno if I got that on mah databases... What 'bout all yours?"

[PointMaid]

Oh, yeah. There's the whole genome of Felis Domesticus.

[Kennifer]

"Excellent. Now, do we have a sample from one of the infected cats we can sequence and compare? Where's the cat that bit Medic?"

[madface7]

"...I don't know."

Engie facepalms. "Did ya seriously ferget to grab that cat? It could be on the loose bitin' people."

"At least it'll get us more data-"

"Medic, yer' puttin' people in danger, and ya care more 'bout some gosh-danged numbers?" Engie sweeps his arm on his desk, pushing a lot of stuff off the table.

Medic flinches, takes a deep breath, and lifts his finger."...I'll... go find the cat."

"HEY! KEEP THE FUCKIN' CATS UNDER FUCKIN' CONTROL, WILL YA?" The loudmouthed kid says, bringing in another cat.

"That's the second one now - They must like you or somethin'." Moon says, upon seeing with, with Calli nodding in agreement.

"Just shut the hell up before I kill you." He said, in a clearly annoyed tone of voice. Moon made the :P at him, before going back to chatting with Calli about her recent 1 Million subscriber special.

[PointMaid]

Thanks. We owe you. Ruby threw a pointed look at the Medic.

Then she took out a cotton swab and began swabbing the cat's mouth.

[Kennifer]

Holly is ready to compare data as soon as the sample from the cat has been processed. She's also got a squirt bottle within reach in case Ruby gets bitten.

[PointMaid]

Thanks, Ruby says, noticing the spray bottle. She puts the swab in a sample tube and caps it.

Ow!

She looks down to notice the scratch of the cat's canines against her arm.

[Kennifer]

Holly immediately sprays some water on the bite spot. And on the cat, now that the sample's been collected.

[PointMaid]

Thanks. Again. I'll put some antiseptic on it in a minute.

Ruby begins to process the sample for sequencing...

[Kennifer]

"As long as you don't turn into a cat..."

Holly smirks.

[PointMaid]

:s Ruby notices hair starting to grow on her arms. Perfect.

[Kennifer]

Holly squirts more water at Ruby.

[PointMaid]

The hair seems to disappear. Or at least go back to what was there before. Ruby lets out a breath she'd been holding. That's better.

Then she finishes the sample preparation and puts the cat sample into the sequencer.

"Vell, uh, I sink you should spray me too, considering..." Medic motions to the fur all over his body, and his cat ears.

Before Holly, Engi, or Ruby can do anything about Medic, someone bursts through the door and sees Medic as a cat. He sports an eyepatch and a black beanie, and is holding a bottle.

"...Medic, why the HELL are you a cat? Don't tell me I've just discovered yer fursona!"

[wingedcatgirl]

G'raha, returning from Sylvi's room, stares at the scene.

"I was just going to help with magic, but... what in the world is going on?"

[madface7]

"Demo, zis is NOT vat it looks like, it's just-"

"Yer a blasted kitten, Doc! It's yer fuckin' fursona!"

"...Just spray me already, Holly..."

[Kennifer]

"Should I spray him too, or do you need to take more samples first?"

Holly is aiming the squirt bottle at Medic.

[PointMaid]

We have the sequence. Spray him.

[Kennifer]

Holly squirts Medic with quite a lot of water.

[madface7]

"I thank ye both," the man in the eyepatch says as he leaves. "I'm gonna go drink some scrumpy while I try to figure out where the hell I am."

"...Now zen, uh, back to vork, I suppose."
