Decrypted Memories (An episodic RTD RP) (Signup/OOC)
#1
[ACCESSING CYBERSPACE... Firewall bypassed!]

Welcome to the Digital World! Infinite Possibilities await!

This is an upcoming episodic RP where you explore different simulations and adventures! Space... Cities... from time and space, and even parallel worlds! ... Don't be fooled... this world runs on different rules... DICE rules!

Yeah, this is Roll to Dodge! Don't worry, depending on your character's attributes, you'll have modifiers that shift roles either for or against you.

Also, you'll have to roll for every action you do. Have fun! And don't let the RNG Bite!

Also, two questions:

Should rolls be d6 or d10 based?

And should the highest roll be "the best option, well done!" or "you did it! ... A bit TOO well."

Signup form:
- Name: Self-explanatory, lol
- Description: What are they like?
- Appearance: Either provide an image or a description
- Strengths and Weaknesses: This is what will primarily determine the modifiers you'll receive for certain rolls you do for actions.
I don't understand any of this... I'm in a world of complete insanity...

I am potentially interested in this; I've got a couple character ideas who might work.

As for input on the questions I think d10 would be good, and I do like the highest roll being "you did it too well" (perhaps a positive modifier to this brings it back to a "best possible result" instead of "wow you did it even way more too well" lol)

my personal opinion for the dice system is that if you go for "you did well, TOO well", you should have the 1 be "you fail so badly you somehow loop back into success"
and honestly, for an episodic RP? i think d6 works best, since it's more conductive for a narrative and doesn't have the "competition" of sorts that murdergames have

anyways. i might put a hacker wolf girl i made a bit ago

and i may not be loved
but they'll always recall my name

as for characters I'm thinking my portal-gun-toting meme-loving android might be fun for this.

Hm. Interesting. Alright! Highest roll is a "suffering from success" failure, while the lowest roll is a "Springtime for Hitler" success!

[INTEGER OVERFLOW AND UNDERFLOW CLAUSES INSTALLED.]

Also, this will use d6 rolls because this is less competitive than something like a murdergame.

And also, I'll be looking forward to all of your characters.

- Name: Ivy
- Description: Ivy is an android made by Aperture Science. She has a portal gun (whether she has it here or not will depend on how game breaking it would be lol, either way she knows how to think with portals.) Ivy is also a gender hoarder (any pronouns are actually fine within reason; she/he/they/it/xe etc. are more likely to be accepted than one of the emojis-as-pronouns or something lol) but tends to default to she/her or they/them pronouns and has a feminine appearance. Ivy also knows and loves a lot of memes.

She can eat/drink like a human (this refuels her) and sleeps (this recharges her).

- Appearance: (See pic.) Ivy has ash-blonde hair and tanned skin. She has light blue eyes and a slim yet athletic build. She usually wears athletic style clothing such as a track suit.

- Strengths and Weaknesses:

Strengths include durability (she is an android, after all, so can endure things most humans could not such as falling from a long distance, extreme temperatures, running long distances etc.). She can also, as you might expect, "think with portals" (interpret this as her being good with puzzles.) Oh and she could probably drink you under the table due to her metabolism being that of a robot rather than a person.

Weaknesses include not quite understanding humans (such as underestimating things that could hurt someone and having difficulty processing emotions, and she might be slower to come up with solutions if she can't just solve a problem with a portal. (She also does not believe cake is real.)

yk what? kity yeet

Name: Kity AI v0.3.2
Description: A super-advanced AI programmed by [ERROR: DATA NOT FOUND] for the dual purposes of being a cute kittycat companion and [ERROR: DATA NOT FOUND]. She's found this interesting cybershenanigan and as a curious cat she must investigate!
Appearance: As a program, Kity AI has no fixed form and can appear however she pleases, but she tends to look green, glowy, and feline. Pictured below is her first attempt at a humanoid form.
Strengths and Weaknesses: Kity AI is not human. This is both her strength and her weakness.

- Name: Nintendo
- Description: Nintendo is the benevolent leader of a nation known as "Nintropolis", which occupies the continent "Consolia" alongside two other nations, led by Sony and Microsoft. Together the three are known as the "Three Console Kings". Not only they lead and govern nations, they also defend them from danger with their powers. Nintendo, in particular, is said to be the strongest of the three. He has a giant hammer which he uses to whack  enemies, though he's not particularly fast. Nintendo is a nice guy and is surprisingly fond of reading books and writing, and he has a lot of friends from his home nation.
- Appearance:
- Strengths and Weaknesses: Nintendo is the most powerful of the bunch. He wields a giant hammer that can whack enemies senselessly, he can take a lot of hits, and he can jump surprisingly high. He's also a pretty friendly and charming guy, a total sweetheart. However, he's not particularly fast. And being so popular and powerful, he can sometimes get somewhat cocky as well.

Name: Paquerette
Description: Hacker girl, ambitious beyond all belief, and hungry for more, both metaphorically and very, very literally. Acts either incredibly refined or incredibly brutal, no inbetween.
Appearance: [Image: export.png]
Strengths and Weaknesses: Paquerette has two forms, her human form and her wolf form. In her human form, she's dexterous, quick thinking, but significantly more frail and overanalytical, prone to overthinking any problem given so she can optimize it. She gets easily frustrated, and when that boils over, she'll shift into her wolf form, which is stronger and more confident, but more prone to giving into her animalistic instincts.
No matter what form, though, her biggest flaw is that she thinks she is and should be the shit, and is incredibly headstrong as a result.
