⬇️ I've loved The Iron Giant since I was four, five years old. So that's the source, but as I've gotten older, I've also found that the whole idea of a sort of artificial humanity is a fascinating and relatable one for someone like me that seemingly exists in this sort of limbo beyond appearing neurotypical/“normal” from an outside perspective, but knowing I'm demonstrably different internally (and clearly presenting as such with those I'm comfortable with).

I know there's some spectrum folk that find the comparison demeaning or undignified, but in my case, it's an affirmation of my identity. “It's cool to be a robot,” and all that. :)

When did you become associated with 6001 as opposed to 9001? (I know vaguely it's to do with your ASAS character, but not much about the specifics.)

[down]I didn't think I had it in me to come up with enough challenges (or indeed, any challenges) and organise everything, so I'm pretty proud of how I've done! Definitely make sure you've got at least of a rough outline of every challenge before you start, but you don't have to stick super closely to it. I swapped the locations of a lot of challenges and scrapped quite a few that weren't able to go from half-baked to full-baked by the time I needed them. Chey also helped a lot by submitting challenges as you know.

Also setting up networks and confessionals and changing everything whenever someone is eliminated is a nightmare.

I like both actually! But if I had to choose one, it might be Redwood Run. I just think about it more often. (maybe because an art of the main characters of the arc is my avatar :P)

What's your favorite of the two main arcs of what's been animated for Epithet Erased?

(v) iiiiiiiiit's alright! I think the visual novels are better just under the fact that you just plain can't squeeze a visual novel that's 8-10 hours long down to just 4 episodes for each arc. It definitely handles itself better than some visual novel adaptations cough cough Danganronpa cough. It definitely cuts out the right things instead of just taking a pair of scissors to the editing room and going hogwild.

THAT SAID THE ONE THING THAT DRIVES ME INSANE IS THAT IT SPOILS THE ENDING OF SOME ARCS IN THE FIRST EPISODE! NOOOOOOO?

Like imagine if you were watching Saw or something and John Kramer pulled himself up from the bathroom floor in the first minute and said "shhhhh, the killer is me!"

It's completely insane. Past that, it's a pretty decent way to experience Higurashi if you're just in a hurry or if you're a fan wanting to see it animated.

Thoughts on the Higurashi anime series?

⬇️ Boring? Pretty sure the only way you'd think that is that you haven't even gotten to the first trial yet. Obviously you're gonna get saddled with exposition shit right off the bat, and a bunch of banter — but that's kind of what a lot of games are? I'd say it does get better, especially in DR2, but if you're past the first few chapters and still aren't liking it (even with the mystery aspect) I doubt VNs in general are your cup of tea, they're really more focused on character interactions/dialogue and story than. Y'know. Top-of-the-line engaging gameplay. Hence the whole “novel” bit.

(v) No, the 6k1 part's from my HGS OC, whose full name isn't that different from my TVT name because I didn't have better codename ideas at the time. That, and I also wanted to go by Power Stroke outside TVT because Troubadour9001 isn't original at all. And actually, I grew to like 9k1 because while it was supposed to be a "generic username", it represented my love for "dead memes".

First anime you've ever come across?

 I have this obscure memory of one field trip I disliked from 3-4 years ago, something about collecting critters from a small river. What I believed happened is that I misunderstood the instructions and thus made a fool of myself, so that was embarrassing.
