I'm afraid Shoehorn's correct. It would likely happen the night after any bite happened - first bite, last bite, any bite - if it was going to happen at all.

There were footprints between my cabin and Tsumugi's, but there could be more. I'll check again around Nepeta's cabin.

Well... no, it doesn't quite work like that. One would be a zombie from the very night after one was bitten, if one turned, and could kill that night. Or any night after, unless caught. They wouldn't necessarily have to kill the night after they were turned, though, even if they became a zombie.

You find drag marks all across Nepeta's cabin. But you also muddy up the scene and walk everywhere, leaving noticable footprints as you do so and you also fall on some blood that's found there. It drips off you as you leave the new footprints.
